Updates and More Updates

This is the most frustrated post I’ve ever written. First of all, I couldn’t load my site for days, and when I could do so yesterday and started blogging, the post disappeared during publishing!!! I couldn’t reload the post, like the function in Blogspot where we can “Recover Post” in older version. I rewrite the post at least 2 times already!!! Argh!!!

OK, this post is gonna be the summary of this week events…And here goes:

1. Justin’s cousins from Singapore are back for the holiday, so there are a total of 6 children in my house!!! My place is full of laughters, cries, fights, activities, mess, toys, got the idea now? That day, all of them were playing in my room and I couldn’t make money blog the whole day! So busy leh….

2. The children will play outside the house in the evening. Justin will be riding on his car car while the other older cousins will cycle on the tricycles and bicycles. Isabelle was eager to join in the gang, so my maid took out the baby walker from the store room for her to “ride” on. At last, this baby walker has a chance to see the broad day light! I don’t let her use it in the house as there’re too many steps, and I don’t really agree on using walker too.

3. Justin has been a good helper lately. He will help us to hold the handkerchief and mop the floor in our room. Of coz, he’s not perfect, but at least he’s willing to help now.

4. Li Wei and Justin’s relationship improves a lot. They used to fight with each other, and Justin never likes to share his stuffs with Li Wei. But for the past few days, they’re playing well together. When we went to the park 2 days ago, the rest of the children ran off to the playground as soon as we arrived. But Li Wei stopped and held Justin’s hand to walk with him to the playground. He told me he’d take care of Justin. How sweet! I’m so glad that my godson and my boy have finally become playmates.

5. When we’re at the playground, as usual, Justin wouldn’t interested much in playing the stuffs. He liked to get to know other kids, expecially girls *Roll eyes*, and he went to sit on an uncle’s mat too! So friendly to strangers nowadays…

Getting Hubby’s Birthday Gift

Hubby’s birthday is arriving in less than a month, and I promised myself that I’ll use the money from blog ads to buy something nice for him. I’ve been thinking of what to get, and there are a few items on my list, but I can only choose one as I’m not earning a lot yet.

Thus, I’ve been checking around to see if I could get his gift online on a tight budget. I could either get him a HP iPAQ h2215 PDA or just a handphone, but that will really kill all the money I got!

If not, I can always buy some golf accessories for him. He needs a pair of new golf shoes anyway, but that’s trickly as I need to measure his size first! But hey, golf balls should be a good choice too, he needs a lot of them as he tends to lose the golf balls at the bushes. LOL!

Santa is Here!

When Justin woke up this morning, I asked him to check if Santa Clause came last night. He quickly stood up and open the curtain to look out of the window! He must have thought that Santa stopped by our roof top, which can be seen just from our windows! Ha! He’s so cute…

I told him to check out the sock, and see if there’s anything there. He happily told me that he got a robot and mei mei got a gingerbread from Santa! I guessed he believed my lie and didn’t suspect anything. :)

We spent some time playing with the new toys and listening to Christmas songs in the room before going for breakfast. It’s really quality time spent and I could see from their eyes that they’re very delighted with the toys, and Justin’s so happy that “Santa came”.

But if only daddy can be here, that will complete this Christmas…

The Night Before Christmas

Justin and Isabelle slept late tonight. Their cousins from Singapore arrived late, and they stay up playing together. But after 10.15pm, both of them were very tired, they wanted to go to bed instead. I told Justin Santa Clause aka Old Man will come and give both of them presents when they’re asleep.

So, after they’re asleep, I played the part of Santa, and put the toys in the sock for them.
Christmas present

This poem by Clement Clarke Moore is Justin’s favourite poem at the moment. We used to read this book together, and he loves it a lot. I got this picture from here.

Merry Christmas!

To Daddy

To Hubby,

If you’re wondering about the kids, they’re having lots of fun here and they’re doing fine. Don’t worry about them. Here’re the photos taken in the evening.

Love,

Mommy and kids

Isabelle: 8 months old

Isabelle's taking bath

Weight: 8kg

Teeth: 2 at the bottom and 2 on the top

  1. She’s a happy go easy baby. She smiles a lot, and likes to giggle if we play peekaboo with her.
  2. She’s very good at crawling now, and likes to touch the sockets, lights, toys, and anything she finds interests in. I’m getting busier watching over her after she starts getting mobile.
  3. She takes 2 solid food per day, once for lunch and once for dinner. I’m going to introduce breakfast to her soon. And will probably add fruit snack on regular basis too.
  4. If she sees us eat, she has to get her share too, very “wai sek”.
  5. She likes pulling our hair, especially mine as it’s long and curly.
  6. If she’s upset, she’ll cry and arch back her body, so it’s getting hard comforting her when she’s really angry.
  7. Oh ya, her hair is still very fine and short. You can see from the picture above that she doesn’t have much hair, even she’s already 8 months old. So, she’s always been mistaken as a baby boy.
  8. She’s learning how to do “milk milk” sign as that’s the only baby sign language I’m starting to teach her with.
  9. She begins to know hubby is her daddy, and will reach out her arms to him, or smiles when she see him. But hubby is away again, so I’m not sure if she’ll still remember him when he’s back a week from now.
  10. She likes tearing paper, books, magazines, or tissue, and stuffing them in her mouth!
  11. She learning to stand up by crawling to ther sofa, and trying to pull herself up! She still doesn’t have the strength to do it by herself, so we’ll help her to stand up by supporting her body at the sofa. I think she’s going to learn cruising in another month.
  12. She’ll get jealous if I carry Justin or other kids. Even my maid also can’t carry other kids rather than Justin. She’s quite possessive.
  13. Her sleeping pattern is very bad. She wakes up almost every hour for comfort nursing. I could be my fault for letting her developing this habit, but I need to lie down and rest too! So, breastfeeding is still the easiest thing to do, no need to get up and rock her lah….
  14. Sometimes, her left eye will have double eye lid, so it’s funny to see her eyes in different shapes. I wonder when her double eye lids will come out…

Physical Punishment

I didn’t sleep much last night, and since when did I have? :)

Justin was waking up crying for daddy, and yes, hubby’s left for China on a business trip again. His cries woke Isabelle up, and I was busy attending to them until dawn. So, I guess I was not as patient as before as I’m agitated too.

I prepared breakfast for Justin and made his milk in a cup. But he said “Don’t want milk milk in Barney cup.” and before I could take the cup away from him, he poured the milk onto my cup of coffee and over spilled everything! The table and the floor were stained, and I was very mad.

I took his hand and gave him a smack! Gee, I felt so guilty after that, but I went to get the cloth to clean up the mess. Justin was just standing there, looking at me, and didn’t make a sound. I guess he was shocked as I don’t hit him. After I’ve done cleaning up, I gave him a hug and told him not to do that again, bla, bla, bla…And I apologized to him , and asked him to forgive me for hitting him.

He said yes, and sorry mommy too. Then, he gave me hugs and kisses. Well, all those sleepless nights were worth it, to have a sweet little boy like him. And I’m so sorry that I hit him. Got to remind myself not to repeat that again.

Bath Time Fun

If I’m bathing Justin and Isabelle by myself, I have no choice but to bathe them together as if I’m doing it individually, I’m worrying that Isabelle will be crawling around and playing with the sockets, pulling the wiring, bumping into the furniture, etc, well, you know what I mean.

I know it’s not encouraged to bathe boy and girl together, but they’re still young, so I guess it should be ok for the time being. After I’ve bathed them both, I’ll let them play in the tub for a while. Both of them like to splash the water, and scoope up the water with some mugs. But I don’t put much water in the tub, just less than 2 inches deep.

Since the size of  the tub is too small to fit both of them, there’s a slight accident happened today when Isabelle kicked Justin’s “important part” and refused to let go of her leg! Justin was screaming “mei mei, no kick, koh koh pain pain, go away!” I couldn’t help it but started laughing looking at Justin’s struggling to push Isabelle’s leg away! It’s so funny!

Most of the time, I’ll dry and dress up Isabelle first. Then carry her with me, while I help Justin to get out and dry him up. Justin doesn’t like to dress up immediately after a bathe, so both of them will be playing together in the room as I clean up the bathroom first. Then, it’s Justin’s turn to get dressed up and all of us will go outstairs for breakfast or dinner.

It’s fun bathing the kids, and I prefer to do it by myself whenever possible.

Today’s Highlight

My neighbour’s grandson, Jayden from UK is going back today. He’s been here for 2 weeks, and for the past days, Justin and Isabelle went over next door to play with him in the morning and evening. If they didn’t go over, Jayden would come over to our place.

His grandpa said Jayden is my future son-in-law. LOL! So young already matching up Isabelle with a boyfriend…

Jayden is a Valentine’s Day baby, and was born pre-mature. But by looking at his size now, he doesn’t look small, even if his mum keeps telling me that he’s considered very tidy in UK. Of coz lah, comparing with ang mo, how can we Asian “fight”?

He looks like “gua lou”, doesn’t look like Chinese at all. Yes, he’s 100% chinese, with parents with oriental look, but he doesn’t take their traits.

Justin and Isabelle like him a lot, and I think they’re gonna miss him when he’s back to UK. Justin said “Di di go back already”, but he doesn’t understand how far UK is from here. Well, we could always go there right? :P Like very cheap only huh….

Oh ya, since hubby’s flying to China today, I quickly brought Justin for a hair cut. Hubby likes Justin to keep his hair long, just like him *Roll eyes*. But I think his fringe is too long, and kept irritating his eyes. So, I brought him to the hairdresser.

He didn’t cooperate until the hairdresser bribed him with sweets. And he kept turning his head during the hair cut, luckily she a skillful hairdresser for kids!

Oh boy! Can anyone tell me how to upload photo to WP besides URL? Quite troublesome leh….
