Pregnancy Complication
I was crying last night when hubby and Justin were sleeping. Then I got nose block and had to blow my nose and woke hubby up. He asked what’s bothering me, but I was too upset to talk about it, just ask him to go back to sleep.
During my last check up, my ob gynae told me that my placenta is located at the lower front of my uterus, which means I have low lying placenta this time. I have been spotting and bleeding during the first trimester, and was on hormonal pills and jabs to secure this pregnancy. I have tried to be positive, and read up some material in preparing myself for the worst scenario, if the placenta doesn’t move up after 28 weeks.
Last night, I was reading about caesarean, as most mothers with low lying placenta will be advised not to deliver naturally. I got really worried and mad about myself for not taking care of myself and my baby. Even though I was told be bed rest for weeks, I didn’t do it as I was occupied with a kindergarten. Now, I have more time to stay at home and only work 3 hours a day, I’m busy taking care of Justin. Just dunno how to take good care of myself and feel so guilty about the baby I’m carrying inside.
That really made me cry, but I feel so much better now. That’s nothing much I can do about my placenta, besides getting myself equiped and ready if my condition doesn’t get better.

You are pregnant ah? Aiyo.. I didn’t know leh. Now you mentioned it, I can see you have put a Lilipie tracker.
Wow, you look so good and slim, doesn’t look like you are pregnant.
Anyway, good luck to you. I hope things will turn out ok. Even if it’s c-sect, it’s still ok, as long as baby and you are healthy and ok.

Hello shoppingmum,
My name is Anna and I live in Los Angeles. Sorry to hear about your complication. It is OK to be worry but don’t blame it on yourself. As now the time permits you more rest, it is advisable to try to rest as much as you can. I know it is probably difficult with a one year old running around. But let’s hope when the uterus gets bigger, the placenta will move up. Your OB should monitor your condition closely and checking on the placenta during each of your appointment.

don’t worry so much about your pregnancy… share your problems with your hubby more and let him in the know as well
take care of your health is more important… especially now…

my sis had the same condition with her pregnancy… the placenta didn’t move up much even after 28wks. the OBG just continued to monitor the position but had informed her early in the pregnancy that possibly a C-sec mighty be needed depending on the situation. She did manage to deliver normally last year… so don’t give up hope on normal delivery yet.

Hi, I’m Tracy,
I was in the same condition as what u are experiencing now. I had a low lying placenta from right at the beginning when I had Destinee (my daughter) and I had to lay on the bed or lazy chair most of the time for the first few months. Finally my gynae told me I had to opt for C-sec.
It’s not ur fault. Just relax and let ur gynae monitor u. Talk to ur husband and I’m sure u’ll have his full support. It’s no big deal on C-sec. It’s so common nowadays.
Do take care, rest more and have a proper diet, dat’s all u have to do.
