Read Suzette’s blog yesterday, and she’s gonna name her baby girl Isabel!!! Same as my new baby’s name, but I prefer this spelling — Isabelle. Twinsmom has a Isabelle too (besides Annabelle).

Imagine if one day all three of us meet and bringing our girls along. When we call “Isabelle” at the same time, 3 little princesses will be running towards their mommies! LOL!

“Isabelle” had been number one girl’s name on my list when I was expecting Justin. That time don’t know the gender, so hubby and I thought of some names that we like first for both genders. Then, after we found out that I’m expecting a boy, we decided to name him Brendan, but didn’t work out as hubby changed his mind later. Then we decided on naming him Justin.

This time around, it’s so easy. Right after we knew her gender, we already started calling her Isabelle. No need to think too much. As for Chinese character, I’d like to name her 雨晨, while hubby wants 宇晨. So, see if we change our minds or not.

BTW, before Isabelle is born, she already has a nickname given by Li Wei. He said her name sounds like “Ding Dong Bell, pussy in the well.” Or “Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle all the way…”

  1. what about “Isabella” - as in the “Isabella Leong” singer from hong kong. if u get another girl, then call her “Annabella” ;)

if i get a baby girl, i’ll name her Ashley ;D

  2. yah, before we settle with “Isabelle”, we thought about “Isabel”, but then Annabelle might become “Anabel”, so we thought “Anabel” will be a bit funny, so all settle with the “Belle” :D.

and another thing others might not know is, we name them “belle”, because seems like only this two name go as pair.

I love 宇晨, I like the name 中性化. but have you thought about how the name sound in Cantonese? becos last time I thought about 敏霓 and 敏曦,too bad it doesn’t sounds goodin Cantonese (my late FIL was Cantonese).

May be if I have third girl, I might call her “jinglebelle”, I think she will hate for all of her life LOL… just kidding.

  3. I like 雨晨 better for a girl… another Isabelle ah? wah lau! will be really confusing later during a gathering!

  4. 雨晨suits girl more. I have a cousin also has 雨 in her name, she is very pretty and very sweet and attractive now, at her golden 21 or 22 years old. But then, when she was a kid, she cried a lot - and we always blame it on her name. :p

Why I name this one Isabel? Because there aren’t much choices for girls that start with ‘I’ ler… and I prefer ‘I’ because of Ian mah… ;)

  5. Glad for you for getting the right name so easily. I want Beatrisya even before I got married, hubby walked in the hosp. with a baby names book and annouced Beasyara for the second one…but a lot of headache to get Beanisha…3 times to Jab. Pendaftaran!
That’s why now wishing for a boy for the next one!

  6. We changed our minds on the chinese name after writing it down at the hospital but before the registration. Hehehe. So terrible.

  7. Daddy Nick, Ashley sounds nice, it’s a sweet name.

Twinsmom, I don’t know how to sound it in Cantonis, have to ask hubby tonight.

Egghead, 雨looks better for girls, that’s why I chose it. But hubby said it’s a bit groomy, like rainy days.

    Suzette, really 哭 包ah? :P

Mama22beas, your girls have really special names, I haven’t heard of the names they have before. BTW, after having 3 girls, surely will hope the next one be a boy huh?

Mumsgather, chinese names can still be changed anytime right? It’s not written in the birth cert. But of coz, I’ll try not to change lah…

  8. I love 宇晨 too, like Maria I like names to be 中性化. The pronunciation of the character is very nice. Good choice.

I always like names ending with A.. That was why I chose Zara.. And Issabella and Annabella was in my list too.. but Hubby said they sounded too Russian.. In the end, Zara was a good choice.

I already had another girl’s name line up if Zara has a sister. Still looking for a boy’s name which starts with Z, have 2 syllable and end with A.

Aiks, not even pregnant yet think so far already. :P

  9. haha…i also like the name to be 中性化. Congrats hor having a girl this time. :)

  10. hmm..when ppl name isabelle, reminds me of that show *triumph to the sky*, that flora chan name is belle hehehe :).

very nice name. I find that girl is so much easier, compared to boy :(. I haven’t got a name yet *panic liao*

  11. I like this name too. I once asked hubby that should we have a girl next time, shall we name her that? He said no, too many of his exes named that, bleh…. there goes my isabelle.
