Trying to be Ang Mo Gao
Last night, my hubby must have short some of his nerves, and he asked me to nurse Isabelle immediately so we can all go out for dinner at one of my favourite restaurants. I was puzzled, but still nursed Isabelle as told. Then, he asked me to change while his excitedly dressed up Isabelle.
I doubted his knew what he’s trying to do, so I asked him to tell MIL about his plan to bring me and baby out for dinner first. He quickly went downstairs and came up minutes later telling me to change. What? MIL agreed to let us out during confinement? He said she’s only looked annoyed and frowned. Oh no! Hubby had stepped on “her tail” but still didn’t aware of it. I told him I’m not going as I couldn’t fit in my clothes yet, and didn’t want to dress in tracksuits to that restaurant. So, that excited fella grabbed Isabelle’s baby bag and left the room.
I quickly followed downstairs to see if he managed to get her out of the house. Ha! Ha! He was “caught red handed” by MIL who ordered him NOT TO BRING BABY OUT! Then, MIL asked SIL to ta pao pizzas as she didn’t want to have dinner out anymore. Wow! I could smell the hot flames coming out from MIL’s head.
She carried Isabelle from hubby and sat down. Then she started LECTURING hubby why baby could go out before full month because she has weaker immune system and would easily got sick in a crowded place. Last time, old folks waited until 100 days before bringing baby out of the house. Hubby was sitting there and listening without a word. I dare not make a noise too.
Poor hubby, so old already still got scolded by his mom for trying to act like ang moh, not following our chinese custom. MIL has been very open minded already, but there’re still some border lines not to be stepped over with.
So, everyone’s having pizzas at home, no more eating out last night.

Both hubby (tho very tempted at times) and i also refrain from taking bb out when they’re very young, especially crowded places. Really, their respiratory and immune system are still very susceptible to infections. Why subject them to all the pollution. Not that our house is very clean, but of course much better than breathing in all those exhaust and dirt-filled air.
So, i make lots of excuses, saying tired lah, must breastfeed lah, must change nappy almost every hour lah, or just plain bluff lah. Since i’m the one taking full care of bb, lol.

Haha…very daring daddy. Too bad the plot doesnt work. ;P
When i gave birth the other time, my mother already issued warnings that bb cannot go to crowded places for the 1st 3 mths. I cant do it cos my mom stays just a block away from me and she is really strict on that. Cant bend the rules at all.

Egghead, alamak, you make it sounds like an affair! You know, guys know it’s wrong but still doing it…
Jesslyn, he is more blur than cute to me.
Jazzmint, no leh, he didn’t order anything yet but asked me to sit there with them thruout dinner since I can’t eat. *rolling eyes*, so why am I going huh?
Tracy, I think he’s forgetten to use the back door, that’s why got caught! Ha!
Hui Sia, sien already loh, seeing me and baby stay at home most of the time while the rest of them are out. So he thinks we could go out together.
Zara’s mama, sometimes MIL is too busy to prepare dinner. She cooks 3 times a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Geng leh? So there’re some days when she’s lazy or too busy to cook, we’ll eat out. But now she has to cook for me daily.
Samm, wow, you can really tahan staying at home. You’re right, it’s really troublesome bringing baby out as we need to bring along lots of things, but it’s more convenient for bf mums since we don’t have to bring bottles, right?
Mdm 2359, welcome to my blog. Yes, my mum also doesn’t like me going out with young babies, but she’s too far away to control this.
Maria, you’re right, maybe also sick of the food he’s sharing with me!
whoisbaby, it’s the flu season again? No wonder my boy’s having running nose. I know about your condition, it’s really hard having a second stitching. Glad that you’re fully recovered now.
1+2mom, he’s too eager to bring us out, but there’s only more than one week to go. I’m counting down now…
Kirana, welcome to my blog, and you’re a first time mom. So it’s normal to feel scare about labour, but the more you read, the more you know, sometimes, you’ll be more relax as you know what to expect. The epi is only painful for a few days if there’s no infection. So it’s crucial to sit in saline / salt water for the first few days, and try to rest more. Of coz, some walking will also helps better blood circulation and helps healing too. Don’t worry, there’s still 5 more months to go, you’re be prepared by then! Enjoy your pregnancy!

maybe your hubby wants to give you early mother’s day celebration? Since it was your favourite restaurants, he must have thought of giving something good to you.
