I got the green light from MIL to end my confinement earlier, on TODAY!!! Yippie!

I was busy getting myself ready, but seems like Isabelle and Justin didn’t want to cooperate. Maybe they sensed I was going out as I’ve changed to kai kai clothes, that’s what Justin called it. Actually, I planned to leave home at 12pm plus, but Justin refused to take his lunch! Both of us had lunch together while Isabelle was lying in the cot. But before I could finish wallopping my lunch, Justin was throwing his food around and Isabelle’s crying to be carried. My maid helped me to carry her for a while, but she’s still screaming.

So, I was busy cleaning up Justin, the mess he made, and comforting Isabelle’s verbally that I’d carry her soon. After cleaning up, I nursed her while asking Justin to get in the room where he’ll take his nap. But he’s just being there to play with Xin Yi first, it’s too early to him to take his nap. Isabelle refused to let go of me, still latching on like no tomorrow. I had to detached her and handed her to MIL. By the time I managed to get out of house, it’s already 1.30pm. It’s really hard to be punctual!

Then, I quickly drove to Jusco and brought the things I’ve planned to buy: New clothes for Isabelle and Justin (angpao from my parents) and for myself, I bought a pair of jeans, 5-quartered jeans and a skirt. I couldn’t fit in my old jeans / trousers / skirt yet, but still need to wear something right? That’s why I bought the essentials only, as for tops, can still squeeze myself in them. Oh boy, totally out of shape now, and that’s one of the greatest fear of most post-natal mothers.

After shopping, I rushed to my facial appointment at 3pm. Really need to get a facial done as there’s no time for me to put anything on my face during confinement. Just being busy with kids only, and can qualify myself as “wong men po” (yellowed-face si lai). Hopefully, that facial helped to “beautify” my look for a while.

Finally, I got back home at 5.30pm and MIL’s feeding Isabelle at the door. She doens’t have problem taking milk from bottle, even if today’s her first time. But when she heard my voice, she started crying already. She wanted to be nursed directly, I think she missed me. I pumped and nursed at the same time, and got 4oz milk to be stored up. But milk production is still lesser comparing to last time, maybe Isabelle’s not taking much milk yet.

Tomorrow, I’ll be going out to wash my hair!!! I’ve been washing them, but I just want it to be done properly by the hairdresser. Waste of money huh? But don’t care lah, just want to get out of the house for a while. Ahh…miss the fresh (or poluted) air outside.

  1. How come your MIL give green light last minutes??
I have not go for facial since I started preggy Alvan, now he already 8mths, with 2 kids really less or private time and activities…I miss the massage very much…’sob sob’

  2. Rachel, I told her I need to “get myself done”. Don’t you agree we look badly once we spend more time on kids than ourselves? I’m not complaining that my kids occupied most of my time, I enjoy having them, but sometimes I’d like to look good even if it’s only temporary. Maybe you can try to get someone take care of them for a while and go for a facial! Trust me, you’ll give sooooo much better then!

  3. hurray, released from prison. yup, one of the first things my wife did was to go shopping :-)

  4. Glad to hear you’re finally over your confinement. Sometimes some of the confinement’s rules just like torturing people…hahaha!

So, your next target is slimming down huh?!

  5. Wah… happy graduation? Hahaha, glad for you, I know how it feels like ^_^ enjoy the remaining 1 month of leave before work starts again… ermmm… or are you not working already?

  6. Still got time to do facial, not bad. I can be ‘wong men po’ lor, till now no time do facial just simply wash face nia.
They sence you go out so do many things to stop you go out lor, just like my kids but what to do just let them cry and let them know they cant follow.

  7. wah so nice, got shorter confinement. Can go do facial somemore, salute salute :).

  9. Daddy Nick, *high five to your wife*, really beh tahan, got to shop to “rejuvenate”, ha!

Hui Sia, you’re right! If not determine to slim down now, it’s gonna be harder later when I’m less motivated and busy with work. Hopefully I can do it this time.

Sue, I still need to go to my centre for a few hours a day, but not as busy as b4. However, I’ll try to rest for another few weeks first before heading back to work. Miss leaving them leh…

1+2mom, wong men po is just another term for SAHM, but try NOT to be one lah! I can’t let them cry leh, too soft hearted, and if I hear them crying when I’m leaving, my mood won’t be good. It’s like I feel like I’m a lousy mum. Do you feel like that too?

Jazzmint, you’re gonna have yours soon! Enjoy your confinement yeh? Then, enjoy the “release”!

Egghead, wah, if you’re staying with old folks, then you’ll know who strict they’ll be if they really follow the rules. My MIL is ok, that’s why can end a few days earlier.

  10. 5 pair of jeans?? Wow.. really on a shopping spree huh?

We really feel like we have fong-kum (releaes from prison) when we end our confinement huh?
