Justin: 19 months old
I didn’t measure his height and weight regularly, so I have no idea what’s the measurements. But at this stage, Justin has begun to show his characters.

He likes to dress up nicely when we’re going out. I think he got his trait from me as mommy is very “oi leng”. Most of the time, he’ll choose the clothes he prefers to wear. I’ll try my best to respect his choices, but when the colours he chose are too ridiculous, I’ll advice him to pick another one. He’ll listen to me most of the time, but there were times when I have to go out with a toddler who’s wearing a mismatched T-shirt and shorts. His favourite T-shirt at the moment is Barney’s T which I bought during Barney’s roadshow in Ipoh. He’s getting bigger and the T is a bit too tight for him. However, he still insists on wearing it if he finds it in the drawer.
He likes Barney a lot. Despite having more than 10 Barney vcds, he can remember the songs or scenes from each cd. But I only allow him to watch twice a day as I’m afraid that he’ll be a TV addict, or my maid uses TV as babysitter. He likes to play those Barney products at the toy section, but I only got him a Barney stuff toy and the plate and cup. Too bad it’s impossible to get Barney’s clothes line here.
He’s good at imitating now. However, he has also picked up some bad habits. The worst one is he likes to spit when he’s told not to do something. I have to correct him on the spot whenever I see it. Even if he knows I hate it, but still does it occasionally. *Sigh* Maybe he knows that irritates me.
He doesn’t take much milk lately, and can go to sleep without having his night feed. Even if he takes milk in the morning, he only takes less than 5 oz. However, he eats a lot. My house is full of junk food, and it’s impossible for me to prohibit him from taking them. So, as long as he’s taking his proper meals well, I let him have some snack after meals.
He likes books, and hubby and I take the effort to read to him whenever he asks, if it’s possible. I don’t force him to learn the letters or numbers, I prefer him treating books as a passion or hobby. It’s totally different from my work nature where we believe children should be taught words from young. I’m not teaching Justin that way, so I wonder how he’ll be when he grows up.
As for language skills, he’s still trying to form sentences. Sometimes, he speaks a strings of sound and I just can’t get what he’s trying to say. It’s a guessing game between us, and he’ll act out if I’m still clueless. He knows how to name most objects around him, or pictures he sees in books, but still can’t form sentences. Well, maybe boys are slower in speech.
He doesn’t like puzzles, but will kacau his cousins when he sees them playing. He still doens’t have the motor skill to join the pieces together, so I decided to keep them away, and introduce puzzles again when he’s ready.
He’s always full of energy. He’ll run and play outside the house every morning and evening. I’ve just started to teach him to do some gardening where we plant some sunflowers and cucumber. He likes watering the plants, looking for snails, and flipping through the leaves to look at the insects he can find. He’s getting more observant, and remember most flowers and insects’ names I told him about.
He’s a loving little boy. He likes to kiss and hugs people, especially to Isabelle. He maybe young, but he knows how to be careful not to hurt mei mei when they’re lying down side by side during bedtime or playing together. But I still separates them after they’ve fallen asleep, if not, I’ll be watching over them overnight! Until now, he still not showing too much jealousy over mei mei, maybe she’s still young and doesn’t play with his stuffs yet. Dunno how he’ll react when Isabelle’s getting older?
There’s so much to write about him, and I think the post can go on and on….

Hey, the Barney road show was just quite reacent. Within a month, he’s outgrown the t? I normally try to buy 1 size bigger for Zara.. so that can wear longer. But nowadays, they are growing so fast, esp the shoe size.
Actually if we want to talk about our kid, we can really go on and on huh?? Because they are our pride and joy.
Btw, I don’t force Zara to learn the alphabets or numbers, but I’ll just read to her the alphabets and numbers (esp on those books specifically printed for this purpose), if she’s not interested, we’ll stop, and just look at the pix. But you will be surprise, they are actually very keen to learn.
Want to check with you, did you do the Montessori course or a some child education/psychology course? I’m thinking of doing it, more for the kids.

Egghead, thanks
Zara’s mama, not really. I was not certified as I didn’t go for the exams, but only sat for a few training courses. It’s good to learn more since we’re mothers, and you can find more info from Prime Collegue. I went there once and found that the syllabus and classroom is really well equipment. Too bad it’s too far from me to attend, even if I want to do part-time. For KL-nites, it should be possible.
Yes, toddlers grow up really fast, I have to buy new clothes or shoes every alternate months. For Ts, can get bigger size, but Justin’s head’s quite big, it’s really hard to squeeze it thru! Ha!

Trenyce likes Barney too. When she left for Semenyih last mth with her grandparents, we have forgotten to pack her Barney along. Luckily she was alright with any stuff toys she could hug to sleep. When we visited her 2 weeks later with her Barney, she wouldnt let Barney out of her sight. My PIL also got her a collection of Barney cds, at least a dozen i think. She can now sing “rain rain go away” and “twinkle twinkle little star” for us. I think she learnt that from the cds as well as from my mil who’s very good at nursery songs
We also only allow her to watch Barney cd twice a day, for fear that she will get addicted to TV :p

I am sure all of us can go on and on about our kids’ achievement and developments. Ha ha..There is not end to a Mother’s praises. Your “Oi Leng” boy sure looks very well dressed in the pix above, some more with backpack

Mdm2359, read from your blog that your Trenyce went for the road show too. She surely enjoyed that right? Oh, that “rain rain song”, it’s also Justin’s favourite, but mommy is still the one singing!
Sasha, Jayden knows how to watch Barney at 4 months old? That’s quite fast! My boy only knows how to watch TV after 1 year old, he’s too active to sit still…
Immomsdaughter, ya loh, so kembang about our own kids huh? Maybe they’re not teenages yet, Ha!
That’s his one and only bag which he insists on taking along when we go kai kai. He doesn’t want us to buy other bags for him, save our money…
