Conversation with Justin and Isabelle
This post is for hubby, if he’s reading my blog in China.
Me: Where is papa, boy?
Justin: “zhuo gong” (working)
Continue playing…
Justin: papa come back…
Me: No boy, papa only come back next Friday. Miss papa?
Justin: Miss…miss papa.
Me: Wanna talk to papa over the phone?
Justin: No…playground…
Me: Wanna go to playground? Wait until papa come back first.
Justin: wait…papa…kai kai…
Me: Yes, wait until papa come back first, then we’ll go kai kai
So, dear, you know what to do lah!
Isabelle: Coo…coo…mmm…mmm…
Me: Yes girl, do you miss papa too?
Isabelle: *giggle* coo…woo….
Me: Sure miss hoh…
Ok lah, it’s only my imagination cooing with Isabelle. ![]()
Hubby called twice today, once when I was having a meeting so we didn’t talk much, and another time during bedtime. Justin refused to talk to him over the phone despite of hubby kept shouting “Justin, Justin, boy boy”. My boy doesn’t like to talk over the phone yet. Poor hubby must be missing us very much now!
I’ll divert a bit. If I’m given a choice, I don’t want to be a man next life, if I need to work or “wan sek” and leave my family occasionally. Hubby said it’s not easy to work outstation, and he always tries his best to be back as soon as possible, even if driving back from KL at midnight just to see his kids sleeping soundly and greeting them in the morning.
I don’t think I can take homesick as good as he does. That’s why I’m trying my best to minimise travelling without missing out being with my kids. I wonder how some career women made it, juggling their travelling job and their families at the same time? Zara’s mama? Suzette? Can share or not?

I actually don’t travel that much.. Maybe twice in a year. I take it as a break, to be away..
I really like to travel, before I have Zara, but now, try to avoid leaving her behind.
But normally in the night, I won’t be able to sleep and will think of the little one who sleeps next to me. *sigh*.
Men different one ler.. they can let go easier than us, so if you are a man, you will be having the same mind set.
Let us know how they react when they see papa..

My hubby travels very frequently and since having children, he will try to maximize his stay at home by choosing the latest possible flight out and earliest possible flight home. At one time, it took the baby three days before he warmed up to the dad again. It really broke my hubby’s heart.

Your hubs is very thoughtful lah, drive home midnight just to see the kids
I’m sure he misses them (and you) terribly now.

it’s real tough travelling for work…of cos will choose the last flight out & 1st flight in…no more sight-seeing loh! unless the flights schedule allows it…and also b-feeding..really makes it 100x tougher! i bring photos…and sometimes that makes me feel even more homesick!

Baby Darren, I have the same thinking as you. I think my separation anxiety is worse than my kids.
Jazzmint, I used to travel last time when I have only Justin. Really troublesome to pump everywhere and bring back the frozen milk some more. Not to mention planning enough expressed milk in the fridge before leaving. That’s why I decided to slow down.
You’re still travelling and bf? I salute your effort!
Hui Sia, lots of mothers envy you leh…:)
Zara’s mama, you’re right. I was sleepless too, even if I had the opportunity to sleep thru the nights. Will update about my kids’ reactions when hubby’s back.
WMD, your hubby’s must be very sad!
Once, when my hubby was away for 2 weeks and came home unshaved, he asked Justin to call him papa, but my boy shook his head and pointed to our wedding photo, telling him that papa’s in the photo. And when hubby asked him who he is, my boy said “uncle”. I think my hubby almost fainted!
Immomsdaughter, we miss him terribly too…
Mommy of two angels, welcome to my blog. You’re travelling and bf too? That must be hard.
I’ve checked your blog and I like you girls names, really sweet.
Blur blur, just hope he can be back soon.

My hubby also tried to push away some unimportant travelling so he can be home with us more. Luckily Darrius can still warm up to hubby pretty fast even he’s away for a week or two when Darrius was younger but not sure it will still be the same next time….
