A blog for Justin and Isabelle

MIL’s away in Singapore to attend a wedding. Since Isabelle’s been having fever for days, probably due to roseola (as she’s still under observation), or some signs of teething (I can feel it when she bites me), I asked my parents to be here for the weekend to help out with the kids. I had to work on a Sunday! Yikes!

Justin was so happy to see them. I told him days ago that gong gong po po would be here to see him, and he’s been anticipated for days already. When he saw my mum first thing yesterday morning, he just sticked to her only, almost “ignoring” me already.

I’m glad that my parents were here as I was really busy taking care of a grumpty and fussy baby. She’s gluing to me even more often as she’s not feeling well. Her fever got worse at night, I was up sponging her, and cleaning up the mess she’s vomitted each time she’s taking paracetamol. Isabelle just doesn’t want to open her mouth when she sees the syringe, and after some struggling to stuff the medicine in her mouth, she vomits out again. But I think somewhere somehow, she swallowed some as her temperature was getting high and low.

At least my parents were here to give Justin the attention he wanted. When I asked if he wanted to follow gong gong po po to Penang, he said yes. It’s my mum’s idea anyway as they really miss him. So I let him choose some of his favourite books and toys to be brought along. At least there’re something to keep him occupied for the week or let him feel “homely” with his stuffs.

My dad called once they reached Penang and said he’s doing fine, and didn’t look for me. Hopefully, he won’t “lao kai” at bedtime or wants to come home before Saturday. I can only pick him up by then.

So, with only Isabelle with me, it’s really easier for me to take good care of her. Hopefully, her fever will subside tomorrow without having any rashes.

  1. That’s a good idea to let Justin follow your parents. It’s difficult to cope with 2 kids alone especially when one is sick. Hope Isabelle gets well soon.

  2. Good bonding time for Justin with the grandparents. Thank God for grandparents. Hope Isabelle gets well soon. I hate it when children get fever.

  3. Ya, it’s tough to handle 2 kids at the same time. I hope Justin will be a good boy in Penang. Hope Isabelle gets well soon.

  4. I know how u feel rite now cos my girl also just recover from fever and vomit. My heart was so pain when I see her vomit. I tell myself this is one of the growing stage and wat I can do is just give a lot of cuddle and hug to her.
