Hubby and I left the kids at home and went for a wedding dinner at a chinese restaurant. Why we went without the kids? Well, if you have attended any chinese wedding dinner, you’ll know why.

1. The dinner is always late. If it’s stated there 7.30pm, the earliest the dinner will start is at 8pm. Once, at a dinner in KL, it started after 9pm!!! And I almost die of hunger!

2. If the seats are not arranged, you’ll end up eating at the same table with 9 other strangers! So, have to go early to book the tables.

3. Where are the baby high chairs???

4. I prefer to have quiet dinner where I can sosialise with my friends at the same table, without having to raise my voice when I talk. But the hosts prefers to have karaoke or singers and dancers.

5. Please let me find a table further away from the speakers!

6. Why can’t they serve the food faster huh? Have to wait so long from one dish to the next one…

7. Yammm…..Seng! Yammm……Seng! Yammmm………Yammmm……Yammm…….Seng!!! And some ah pek are beginning to get drunk.

8. The bride and groom have to toast from one table to the other. So, if there’re 100 tables, be prepare to get some “heng tai” to drink for you!

9. It’s 10pm already, when is the last dish / dessert is gonna be served???

10. If my kids are coming along, I don’t even know what they’re serving after the 6th dish!

  1. haha the common chinese dinner syndrom :)..i usually bring faythe along cause didn’t want to leave her with maid last time, so far she’s pretty ok

  2. Haha..ya, if i were you i also will leave my kid at home, at least i can enjoy my dinner well without kid tagging along.

  3. Jazzmint, Faythe is such a good girl. Justin will be running around the tables or whining of tired before the dinner ends. Sigh!

Hui Sia, you’re right. At least can eat and enjoy. :) But once my kids are older, it’ll be so much easier.
