The Last Day of 2007

I don’t have the habit of making new year’s resolution, but I have a plan for myself next year. If we are moving away, I will get lots of yarns for my knitting projects throughout the year, and source for home teaching materials for my kids. I might want to get them started with home learning until they are ready for the new term at international schools, which is extremely costly! I joked with hubby that we are buying a Honda City with cash every year, if two of our kids are going to school. If we can’t make that much, we will definitely end up with debts and one day, we will need debt consolidation to get things through. He said he will try his best to make more money, if his moving plan is on.

Actually, if I have debts, I will make my effort into reducing them throughout the new year. Leading a debt free life is possible, if you know how to control your spending and plan your money well. If you really need help, consult those financial advisers. I found that most people are only concentrating on working to pay off the debt but by paying the minimum payment, it’s taking them too long to reach the goal.

Luckily, I don’t have to worry about this. All I want for the new year is spending more time with my kids and hubby. Of course, knitting and crocheting will still be my main hobbies.

Safari World Bangkok

23 December 2007

We went to Safari World in Bangkok on the second day. BIL was the driver and his kids along as well. They are just babies, so I don’t think they enjoyed it. On the other hand, my kids love this place!

We pretended that we were Thai, so we got the cheaper tickets. BIL kept asking us not to speak and we had to bribe my kids with sugus to keep their mouth occupied at the entrance. LOL! After that, we went into the wildlife park in our car.

There are lots of wild animals and my kids can name some of them like zebra, giraffe, rhino, camel, flamingo, tiger, lion, bear and others.

See how close we were with this nilgai?

Not all the animals can be viewed in short distance, especially those dangerous animals. But the marabou storks and niglais really came close to the cars and I wonder if they have ever scratched any car spoilers?

After the tour, we went to other areas to catch some animal shows. It’s a sunny day and I didn’t bring caps for my kids. We bought a cute pink elephant cap for Isabelle and a yellow lion cap for Justin, who’s too tired and fell asleep while we shopped. :P

My cap nice huh?

IMG_1278
Beh tahan, I sleep first…

There are lots of shows but we only managed to catch the dolphin and beluga whale show, the spy war, some part of the cowboy show and the last but not least, the orang utan show.

I dare not stand too close. :P

BTW, you really need a stroller for this park if you are here with kids. The park is really big and there are lots of animals like walrus, polar bear, tapir and etc at various sections. It’s hard to cover the whole park in a day, unless you have strollers for the kids. You need to walk a lot! But you can also rent a dolphin stroller if you don’t mind paying for it.

This walrus spitted on us!!!

Justin likes his dolphin stroller

After this trip, I asked the kids if they liked Bangkok. Justin said he loves it. Why? It’s because Bangkok has a lot of animals. LOL!

Trying Out Thai Food

I love Thai food and I forgot about my mission of losing weight once I reached Bangkok. LOL! It’s my kids’ first trip to Bangkok, so besides the normal white rice, they tried some of those non spicy Thai food as well. Isabelle is more adventurous, and she’s willing to try the raw vegetables like long beans.

IMG_1190
Let me smell first…mmm….

IMG_1191
Taking her first bite…

The long bean was too hard for her to swallow, so she spitted it out after munching on for a while. She enjoyed munching on the beans! On the other hand, Justin didn’t want to touch anything, even the cucumbers. He’s getting very difficult and choosy at food now. Sigh…

BTW, here’s s shot of me in my newly knitted top in Lily yarn. I think I got to fix the sleeves or get them removed. They always moved up! Maybe it will be nicer without the sleeves?

About Bangkok Trip

I’ve just completed uploaded 400++ of photos taken for this trip to Bangkok. I will start writing about the trip as I know my kids will surely look for the photos and talk about the trip over and over again until they find something new and interesting. So, let me begin our “journey” to Bangkok. :)

22 December 2007

We woke the kids up at 6.30am, even if they were sleepy and grumpy. We couldn’t be late as we had to catch the early coach to the airport. I didn’t pack a lot and we definitely didn’t need movers New York to help us out. LOL! There’s only a big luggage for all of us.

We grabbed a quick breakfast at the cafe while waiting for our coach to be departed. My kids were not showing a good appetite and they were more interested in playing than taking their breakfast.

IMG_1135IMG_1134
Play play play

Both of them were energetic and refused to take a nap. They were constantly playing and being noisy on the highway and thank god nobody complained about them. :P

IMG_1137
We had lots of fun on the coach

But 30 minutes before reaching the LCCT, both of them knocked out. LOL!

IMG_1138
Now, we’re tired.

We woke up them and told them that we would be having McDonald’s. They were grumpy but they felt better after having some fries. It’s an unhealthy lunch but I try to let go whenever we are traveling. No point being so strict on their diet, as long as they eat and take their vitamins, it’s ok to me.

After that, we went to the boarding area to wait for our flight to Bangkok.

IMG_1141
We can see airplanes here!

2 hours later, we arrived in Bangkok International Airport at 2.45pm. My kids were busy socializing with some tourists and Isabelle was totally fearless of strangers.

IMG_1155
We reached Bangkok!

After picking up our luggage, we met up with FIL who’s picking us up from the airport. We stayed at his place for the first 2 nights in Bangkok.

We Are Happy Here in Bangkok!!!

I took 950M of photos in 2 days. LOL! And we still have 3 days to go in Bangkok! In short, my kids love it here. It’s their first trip to Bangkok and meeting their cousins here for the first time as well. I don’t have much time to upload the photos, but I will do it as soon as possible and update about the trip.

Anyway, hubby is still having a discussion on mortgage life insurance, now and we are waiting for him to finish his “work” and bring us shopping. He better speed things up before my kids tear up BIL’s office in no time. :P

Noisy Neighborhood

My quiet neighborhood is rather noisy lately. Most of the houses are having some home improvement plans. One of the neighbors had his pool remodeled not long ago and he’s the first one to have completed all the renovation because he started early.

I’m eager to take a look at how nice his new pool will be. Will the construction match up with the high quality az pool remodeling by Cameo Pools? I’m not sure which contractor he hired, but I found that Cameo Pools did a good job on most of their projects, based on the photos. I do hope that he has a pool which is as nice as the vacation home.

A Christmas and Birthday Party at School

Justin’s school celebrated a Christmas party this morning. There were 3 kids who celebrated their birthdays this month so we combined their birthday parties together. I was in charged of getting the birthday cake, and I ordered one from The Left Shore again. This time, it’s a Christmas theme banana walnut cake and everyone loved it.

The party cake

My kids enjoyed playing for a while even if it’s so sunny! When the teacher asked me to kick start the birthday party, I realized that I forgot to get the candles!!! Luckily, she managed to find 3 candles for the birthday kids. Phew…There was a magic show to entertain the kids and they loved it. The magician gave out some balloons to every child and before the party ended, we had some makan makan session and exchanging presents.

Let’s play first, mei mei…

We better snap a photo before the cake is eaten!

Cover with Robes

My kids are getting older but we are still staying in the same room. I am not sure if they are ready to sleep in a different room, but if we really move out, I might want them to give it a try. It’s more convenient for all of us too if we have separate rooms. For the time being, hubby and I still change in front of the kids some times but I think we have to do it in discreet as my kids are getting older and it’s time to teach them about privacy. I’m not comfortable with nudity especially when it comes to my kids. Even if I have started teaching them about how babies come from, but I will prefer to cover myself when they are older.

If my kids are still sticking around, I better get check out those Women’s Bathrobes from the department stores or websites like Plush Robes. This website offers a lot of Bathrobes ranging from Chenille Microfiber Robes, Kimono Robes, Asian Silk Robes, Hooded Robes and others. Personally, I prefer those silk robes. I won’t just wear it after a shower but treating it as pajamas as well. I love satin and silk. They are soft and comfortable, so it should be nice to be worn to sleep.

Besides that, the silk robes will be nice to be given out as presents too. I know that Christmas is coming in a few days, but what if you still haven’t got any presents for your loved ones, you can consider getting the robes. A silk robe will definitely be more classy than a bathroom robe, ok? On top of that, you can get the robe personalized with names or monograms of your choice. It’s just going to cost $7.95 per robe for up to 15 letters, so most names are not longer than that! Just choose from the selection of fonts and thread colors of your choice and get the robe personalized. It will be a better gift than the usual ones.

Anyway, if you are operating a hotel, resort, spas, or boutique, it might be a good idea to get the robes in batch. Plush Robes is one of the largest bathrobe importers in the US that buy directly from Turkey. Thus, they can order you a competitive price as comparing to other robe providers. Besides selling in bulk, they take small orders too, and you can be more assured about their quality assurance.

So, should I just order one from them or check it out when I’m shopping in Bangkok?

Donate Boats for Charity

Hubby and I went for the mangrove ride when we had our holiday in Langkawi. At some part of the river, we saw a lot of boats and yachts being parked along the river instead of the proper parking bay. The owners wanted to save on paying for the rental at parking bay, so they parked their boats here. According to our boatman, some of the boats are being left for months, and they looked pretty old.

Actually, I know that these owners still want their boats. But if there is any boat owner who is interested to Donate Boat, they can get in touch with Boatangel which accepts boats and sell them off at ebay. The money collected will be used for creating and distributing Children’s Animation DVDS. If you are interested to take a look at one of the clips, just hop over to www.dopethemovie.org for the preview of an anti drug documentary starred by skateboard legends Jay Adams, Christian Hosoi, Dennis Martinez and Bruce Logan. They are just trying to create the awareness among youth that drug is dangerous and it’s best to stay away from it.

Even if I would like to Donate my Boat, but I don’t have any! I’m not rich enough to have any boats at all!

Back from A Party

20122007646.jpg

We went to Justin’s school Christmas and birthday party this morning. All my kids were so tired and I have only managed to put them to bed just now. The photos are still being compressed at this moment, and I will try to update about the event before we leave for Bangkok this Saturday. There is so much to do but so little time!!!

I have some shopping to do later and I better get out of the house before my kids get back. I need to grab some skincare products and checking out the bustiers, if the kids are coming along, I don’t think I can shop rationally. :P

Ok, I better get going now. I will have to pick up some stuffs from the knitting shop!
