Yoga Trip to India

My yoga and pilates instructor is organizing 2 trips for her students this year. The first trip is going to Bali in March, and the second one is going to India by the end of the year.

I don’t think I have make it to Bali, even if I wanted to, as I don’t have teachers in my centre by then and have to take over some classes. But for the trip to India, I’m very interested.

This trip to India in not purely on sight-seeing, we’ll be there to visit a yoga guru and had some lesson from him. So, it’s a free and easy yoga trip where we’ll be sharpening our yoga skill further, and revitalize ourselves as well. Something should I badly needed as I haven’t been resting for a long time!

I’m not sure how my instructor plans out the trip, but when I checked out the pricing of hotels in bangalore, of my god, it’s not cheap though!!! Some hotels look nice, but some cheaper ones are not. But I found the site is very useful if you’re looking for certain facilities like car rental, health club (it’s a yoga trip, remember?), if pets are allowed (my instructor has a pet cat), beauty parlor (a must to me!), and etc. And since I don’t think I want to take spicy curry everyday, I can check out the hotels that served Japanese and western cuisine too. It’s an ideal one-stop directory for all the hotels in India, which I think  it’s very useful if you’re planning for a free and easy trip like us.
I’ve heard lots of unpleasant experience from friends who’ve been to India, but one of my ex-colleagues who’s been there told me a different story. So, I’m keeping myself open about this India trip, if I’m going by the end of the year.

Backdated: Justin’s 1st Cookie Baking

When we were back to Penang last weekend, Justin had his first baking session with my parents. Isabelle was taking her nap, so she didn’t take part in it. As for me, I only stand there to snap photo and watch as I don’t know how to cook or bake! *Blush*

My mum made the dough, while Justin and my dad mould the cookies. He liked moulding the cookies a lot, and he made Santa Clause, flowers, seashells and stars shaped cookies.

Here’re part of the cookies before putting them in the oven.

Justin insisted on putting raisins on the cookies, but he was too stubborn to listen to us! He supposed to place the raisins on the cookies, but he just sprinkled them around! So, here’s the end results….

Image082

These cookies really made me laugh! They’re shapeless, really can’t differentiate the shapes after baking. And look at the burnt raisins on the tray? So funny.

Nonetheless, Justin was so happy with them, he brought back to show MIL and the rest. It’s his first baking session though, and it’s good enough for a little 2 year old. I’m gonna ask hubby to bake some cakes so that Justin and Isabelle can have some fun too!

Oh yes, my hubby knows how to bake cakes!!!

My Wish on Valentine’s Day

I’ve never bought jewellery myself. Most of them are given to me by hubby, and he knows that I like only platinum, white gold and DIAMONDS!!!

I’ve always joke to him that if he wants to give me a diamond, please let it be at least one carat and above, but not the total up is one carat. At least if there’s anything bad happen to us, like a split, I can still sell the pathetic little diamond. LOL! Did I mention that I’m really bad mouth? :P

But he’s get to give me my desired one carat diamond, and yes, I know it’s not cheap. So, I did’t ask for it, ok? However, if he really surprised me with that stone, that will really be one of the happiness moments on my life!

Or maybe I should give him a hint that Diamond House Arizona, Loose Diamonds Section has open a new eBay store and almost all the items are for 30%-50% discount, and the items quality is super high and with fine taste. So, if he buys now, he’ll save up his money too? *Evil*

Frankly, hubby and I know nothing much about diamonds. I mean the clarity, the cut and stuffs like that. To me, as long as it looks good on me, and it’s BIG *Evil again*, it’s good enough. But we can still find out more from Diamond House Arizona online sales director, Adam. Or just call Robert, the customer support director, which will always be kind and support the toll free number calling customers.

Anyway, anyone who shops online would really appreciate to get their inquiries answered promptly, and at Diamond House Arizona, the light is always one and there’s always someone to answer the customer and support them. There’s a 30 days money back guarantee too, and if I feel like upgrading the diamond hubby bought a year later, I could still do it with the the same price he bought it, deducted out of the total price. Let’s assume that he’s really getting me one…. *Dreaming*
Oh boy, currently the store holds only loose diamonds. So if hubby’s gonna get me mmm… my 3rd diamond ring, he can still let Adam knows about it, and Diamond House Arizona will take care of it! And sponsored my post too!

Monetise This Blog

You may have noticed that there’re some paid post on this blog as it’s old enough to be approved by PPP. But I tried not to make it as spammy as Shopping Mum as this blog is really meant for Justin and Isabelle.

At one point, I thought I won’t be monetizing it. But then again, why put the opportunity away? And I know pretty well that a monetized blog will normally get less readers, which means less commentors too. But as a SAHM, blogging is a job for me, so I hope to generate income from my blogs. If I’m a FTWM, then I’ll probably keep the blogs as journals. But I’m not a working mum right? :)
Thus, I make it a point to choose the topics well. As long as I feel that it fits into my kids and family blog, I’ll write about it. And if there isn’t any topics related, it won’t hurt much though.

Getting Slim and Fit

After I delivered my kids, got breastfeeding on the right track, the only thing on my mind was GET BACK to the SLIM and FIT me!

Hubby is the kind of guy who’s very particular about his masculine body shape. He’s playing golf, taking dumb bells, doing exercise and taking health supplements to keep himself healthy and fit. At the age of 35, he doesn’t have a belly, it’s true, I’m not lying at all! In fact, he still has his biceps, triceps and 6 packs muscle on his tummy. Got what I mean?

I was tempted to try diet pills or anything that could slim me down, but I didn’t because I’m an exclusive breastfeeding mom who’s a moo to my baby. I couldn’t risk my health or my milk production if I tried anything that will effect my body. But lots of post-natal moms will go all the way from slimming centre to herbs supplements to get rid of that baby fat.

Well, if you’re interested in natural supplements that will control your hunger and lose weight without starving yourself, maybe hoodia diet is a good try. Every Batch of Hoodia is Independently Tested and Certified to be 100% Pure Hoodia Gordonii – a cactus found in the South African desert.

But the choice is on the mothers. I slimmed down by continuous breastfeeding, a healthy and balance diet (but I eat a lot!!!), regular exercise (I’m doing pilates), chasing after an active toddler, sleep deprived for months as my baby’s pacifier on demand and busy writing sponsored post at night! At least, I’m in size 26 low cut jeans now! Yippie!

Because of Not Pantang

Justin’s having running nose and coughing since he’s down with chicken pox. He’s on medication until yesterday, but still didn’t show signs of recovering. I’m thinking of sending him to his paed again if he’s not doing well in these 2 days. My mom said he’s all due to my ignorance of not taking in those pantang she mentioned.

Frankly, I know that certain things should be followed, but not all. I’m using my common sense and thinking from scientific point of view. But what if not practising all the pantang makes him a weaker boy now, I’ll be feeling guilty forever. Ok, I’m not being reasonable again…. :P

Well, this is the longest running nose and coughing he gets since birth. So, I really hope he’s getting rid of the flu bugs ASAP. Luckily, he’s still as active as ever, and has good appetite. And Isabelle was not infected at all. Thank god…

Daddy’s at Work

Hubby always talks over his mobile phone when he’s working. Even if he’s eating out with us after office hour, he still talks with his customers or oversea partners. To prevent Justin from disturbing him, I always tell him that daddy’s working, please don’t disturb daddy. After daddy’s finish talking to the uncles, he’ll play with you. So, Justin indirectly thinks that daddy’s working whenever he’s using the handphone.
Then, one day, as we’re shopping at Jusco and hubby was checking out the Trade Show Booths selling handphones and checking out the various models of latest mobile phones, a sales lady approached hubby and trying to promote some models. Justin went up to her and said, “Jie jie, papa zhuo gong (working), don’t disturb, shhhh…”

That caught hubby and I laughing…. :)

P/S: Coincidently, this incident blends well with a sponsored post. :)

Planning for Family Vacation

*Sponsored*
It’s only the beginning of the year, but hubby and I had already planned our next family vacation trip in December. If our plan works well, we’re going to Australia this year end.
Since we’ll be bring our kids along, I don’t want to join any tour agency, and would like to plan and free and easy trip to Melbourne and Sydney. That means I have to get flight to Australia, accommodation, our daily tour plan, car rental agency, and our budget. It may seems months away, but I’m already excited about it, and have been searching the net for more info on our trip.

Hubby hasn’t been back to Australia since he’s graduated, while my last trip there is about 6 years ago. Lots of things have changed, I guessed. Well, if you have any places in Australia that are too good to be missed, which you’ll recommend for me and my kids, feel free to let me know ya?

Isabelle: 9 months old

I didn’t measure her height and weight this time, but she’s grown heavier and taller. :) She has 4 teeth now, and I think she’s teething again.

Here’re what she can do now:

  1. Standing supported! She’s good at crawling to anything that can support her weight, and pull herself up. Then she’ll drop back down to crawling after she’s got the things she wants.
  2. She likes to play with sockets and wiring! That’s why I can’t leave her out of eyesight now.
  3. Whatever Justin’s playing with, she wants to play too. So, I’m getting more and more siblings rivalry!
  4. She can eat by herself! But only limited to finger food like bread and crackers.
  5. She’s drinking from a cup now, so besides nursing, and her regular bottle feeding of expressed milk when I’m not around, my maid feeds her water from a baby cup.
  6. She likes rice! And will ask for it when she sees anyone eating rice. So, it’s easier to bring her out now as we can feed her some rice soften with water.
  7. She is taking breakfast, lunch, fruit snack, dinner, and snack around whenever she sees someone’s eating.
  8. She likes Barney too!
  9. When she hears a nice music, she’ll swing her hands up and down, and that’s the way she dances.
  10. She knows how to wave bye-bye!!!
  11. She doesn’t like Barbie, dolls, robots, or any movable toys.
  12. She likes to scribble with Justin’s mini drawing board.
  13. She’s yet to sleep through the night, and treats me like a pacifier!
  14. Oh ya, mosquitoes like her a lot. She’s an easy target from mosquitoes, and has at least 8 bites on her head alone. That means mommy is not doing a good job of protecting her from mosquitoes too…:(
  15. She likes to play with the HiFi. Even if she turns the volume to the maximum, she won’t be scared about it, and just stand in front of it! But I’ll quickly move her away, as I’m worrying about the effect on her hearing.

One last point, she’s looking more and more like me when I was a baby. Both of us have one thing in common:—– NOT MUCH HAIR!
