When to Wean Off Isabelle?
A lot of people have been asking me when am I gonna wean Isabelle lately. She’s nine months old now, and is still on exclusive breastfeeding with solid food.
I’m thinking of supplementing her with goat’s milk in April, when she’s about 1 year old. I’ll be going to Bali, if everything goes well, but I don’t want to stress myself out stocking up this time as she’s an older baby now.
At the same time, I don’t pump as frequent as before as I prefer to nurse directly, so the stock might not be able to sustain for more than 4 days sorely on expressed breast milk. Hubby said it’s ok to supplement her if I want, he leaves me to make the decision. But I’ll still express if I’m going to Bali and will find ways to bring back the milk. I need to keep the production going as I know she’s not really to wean off so soon. And I’m reluctant to do so as well.

To some people, after 6 months they’ll find it wierd to breastfeed. When colleagues found out that I express bm in the office, they’ll conveniently conclude that my baby is still very small. When I said mine is 8months already, I can see they show a bit shock or uncomfortable of that topic already. Hahaha!
Don’t bother this question. Go with your own pace. As long as we know 2 years is encouraged by WHO, it is all up to us. Ga-Yao!

I brought ALL the EBM home during my biz trip. I carried a Coleman cooler box with milk storage bag & ice packs. What you need to do:
1) Contact the hotel you are a b/feeding mother and need to use their fridge to store the EBM.
2) There are many fridges in the kitchen (at least the one i stayed). Make sure you are using the one that is open and accessible all the time. I was told they lock some of the fridge. This is to enable you to express and store them at your convenient time.
3) while waiting to be board, use the airline lounge to keep your cooler box.
4) While waiting at the boarding gate, seek help from the crew to bring in your cooler box first while waiting for your turn to get into the plane.
5) Remember to ask dry ice from the crew to put inside the cooler box. It can last longer, on top of the ice pack we put.

WS, thanks for the tips! It’s greatly helpful. I’ve never stayed in a hotel before when I was out-station, this is my first time. Can I email you for more info?

Sure. Send to my hotmail acct then. I would be more than happy to share with you my experience.
I am off again early March. Will do the same thing again. It’s really “sim tiah” to throw away those precious milk.

Whats your heart and body tells you? As for me, my sean going to be 1 yr old this 16. Paed already telling me to give FM as bm is less nutrition she said and also telling me that I should slowly stop BF. I will prove her wrong on bb next jab by giving her the web about goodness of bf.
