Playtime again…

I “retired” from pushing my kids on the wagon or tricycle already. So, it’s time to open a bottle of champagne and be glad that I don’t have to bend on my waist so often now!!! Yippie!

Firstly, Justin knows how to paddle his tricycle, so he’s enjoying it very much. All I need to do is following him around the compound. Anyway, walking is a good exercise, so I have nothing to complain about this.

And the same goes for Isabelle. She knows how to “push” the wagon with her legs now. But we need to watch her as she tends to get up by herself, and fell a few times already. But I admire my girl’s courage, she is not kiasi, and willing to keep on trying. She’s one tough gal huh? :)

If you see the clip, you know that I was rushing to catch her from falling off again! :P

BTW, I know why my girl looks like a boy already. She’s been wearing koh koh’s old baby clothes, and they are all in boyish designs!

The Secret of Getting Rich

I won’t pretend that I don’t want to be rich, in fact, even if I’m rich, I still want to be richer! LOL! If I know there is a secret of getting rich fast, I’m eager to know more.

I haven’t watched the smash hit DVD called “The Secret”, but I know that it’s hot. This DVD was released in March 2006 and was sold 500,000 units within the first 6 months! Same goes to the Secret book, it was the fastest selling books in the history of publishing, as stated by Newsweek. More over, the movie was featured twice on the Oprah Winfrey Show, four times on Larry King Live, the Ellen DeGeneres show and in countless other mass media markets. This makes me wanted to know more about it.

This movie was inspired by the book called The Science of Getting Rich, written by Wallace D. Wattles in 1910. He suggested that getting rich is a predictable outcome, if you can master the principles outlined in the book. Nonetheless, it’s not easy to master the principles as described by Wallace D. Wattles since the book was written nearly 100 years ago. Some of the language is a little dated and much of its wisdom lost from a modern day perspective.

However, there is a better way of learning the secret now. The top teachers in The Secret movie, Chicken Soup for The Soul author, Jack Canfield; Positive thinking expert, Bob Proctor and Spiritual leader, Michael Beckwith, are going to bring out Wallace D. Wattles’ wisdom through a comprehensive training system called “The Secret Science of Getting Rich” seminar. This program includes written, audio, and live seminar formats for learning, and mastering the secret of getting rich, and it is a home based seminar.

On top of that, this seminar also launches its affiliate program to empower any individual who is interested in internet marketing.

For example, if you follow the steps and sign up 10 affiliates a month over the whole year, you’ll end up with 120 Tier-1 affiliates. If each of these affiliates sign up 5 affiliates a month for the next 12 months? You’ll end up with 7,200 Tier-2 affiliates, that will being your total pay check to over 1.8 millions! The money is too good to be true, isn’t it? But before you could enjoy all these home seminar and affiliate program, you need to pay $1,995 for instant access to The Science of Getting Rich Program. So, just weight out how much you can earn from it, and decide by yourself.

Infant Nasal Aspirator

My kids are having running nose these days. I’m yet to being them to the paediatrician as they are still active and the mucus is clear. Previously, I used Physiological Sea Water Microspray as prescribed by their paediatrician to clear the nasal fossae and mucus, but it’s almost finish.

My neighbour bought this Arianna Infants Nasal Aspirator back for me from UK yesterday, and I tried it out this afternoon. Both of my kids were curious about it!

This part below is to be placed in vacuum cleaner adapter.

And this is to place in the infant’s nostrils to collect the discharge.

They had no idea what my maid and me were up too. But once I held Isabelle tight and place the collecting cylinder at her nostril, while my maid turn on the vacuum cleaning, she started to cry and “fight back”. I think she’s afraid of the engine sound of that vacuum cleaner, rather than the aspirator.

Justin who was looking by my site cried as well. He refused to lie down and we had a little wrestle! Isabelle was crying too seeing koh koh being held “captive” and “vacuumed” out his mucus. Eeeew!

After my maid finished washing the parts and passed them to me, Isabelle cried out again, just by looking at the parts! See, this gadget scared them a lot!

But when I used on them again before bedtime, and hubby showed both of them how it worked, and it’s only the vacuum cleaner that made all those noise but not the aspirator, Justin seemed to understand and not as afraid as before. But for Isabelle, she is still afraid of it. I’ll see how she reacts tomorrow.

6 Weirdiest Things about Me

I’m tagged by Nicole and Xilly on the same tag.

Ok, interested to know how weird am I? Here goes…

  1. I hate to wash my hair by myself. I prefer to go to the salon, even if it’s so far away from my house! Why? It’s because I like to have some scalp and neck massage!
  2. I need to go for facial at least once a month, if not, I can’t accept my own face! LOL! What I mean is, I’m extremely vain. Wanna know how vain I am? I have a blog about it! Give me some time to update that blog though… :P
  3. I can’t use public toilet, unless it’s clean. If it’s dirty, I’ll rather “yan” until I find a better one. That’s why I have never been to China!!!
  4. I can read and read and read non-stop until I finish the novel. So, I don’t have to sleep!
  5. Oh ya, everyone knows I don’t sleep much huh? I really don’t have to sleep because I have COFFEE to keep me awake. I can’t imagine my days without coffee…
  6. I like walking around naked…in my room lah!!!

Ok, I’m not sure who should I tag. I owe so many people so many tags. I better finish all of them first before tagging anyone because later if they tag me back, I’m not sure when can I finish my tagging assignments!

Edited:
Adventurers about to embark upon the feat of how to travel around the world should first fashion elaborate plans. The plans should include prior booking of airline tickets to every destination as well as an entire list of cheap hotels on each stop. Not only that, but having the names of famous resorts en route can also prove to be quite handy. Instead of going for a life insurance though, just getting a simple travel insurance would be enough too.

Mesothelioma

Frankly, I’m staying in an old house, and I’m not sure if this house has shingles made out of asbestos covering the outside walls, or Asbestos insulation around the pipes.

When asbestos gets brittle and when we inhale the tiny compound of asbestos, the fibers gets lodged in your lungs where they develop cancer. This type of lung cancer is called Mesothelioma.

I think we better ask the handyman to check out the pipes too, since he’s here to renovate some part of the house.

Justin: 27 months old

Weight: 12.5 kg

Height: 87 cm

He likes to say that “Justin big boy now”, and wants to do whatever daddy is doing. Like he doesn’t want to use the potty some times, he wants to use the toilet like us. He doesn’t want to sit in high chair as he said it’s for baby like mei mei, he wants to sit (or rather kneel) on the adult chairs like us….He’s trying to act like a grown up!

But at times like this, he’ll act like a big baby…

Me: Tomorrow you got to go to school.

Justin: No, Justin no go to school.

Me: Why?

Justin: Justin still small, Justin stay at home.

Me: Oh, I thought you said you are a big boy already?

Justin: No, Justin still small, Justin giant baby.

Me: LOL!

He knows lot of stuffs lately, it’s like a boast in his development. Firstly, he’s interested in 三字经 and knows how to recite the first few lines, but he sounds like ang moh speaking in Chinese. And he knows most of the phonics songs from Ants on the Apple, which I have stopped teaching him for months. But when he sees something, like the elephant on TV, he’ll start singing “Elegant elephant e e e ….e is the sound of e”. I was pretty amazed that he still remember most of the sound of the letters.

He likes drawing straight lines and circles too. But he’s getting bored with puzzles, or maybe I should start looking for new sets for him. And he likes watching TV now, most Disney Channel. He will watch after he comes back from school, at 4.30 for Barney and another session after dinner, for a short while.

He’s very helpful too. He will help our maid to hold the handkerchief almost everyday after his nap, or help taking care of Isabelle who’s placed in the pen. That day, when I was walking down the staircase with him, he said this…

Justin: Mommy, hold hands.

Me: Why? You can walk very well by yourself.

Justin: No, Justin want hold mommy’s hand. Justin hold mommy, won’t fall down one.

Me: Oh, ok, Justin hold mommy then. When Justin is big, will you hold mommy?

Justin: Justin hold mommy when mommy is (an) old woman.

Yikes, I don’t want to be an old woman!!! So, I asked him to say mommy leng lui. LOL!

Giving Birth to Isabelle

This is a backdated post for Isabelle.

The day before Isabelle was born, MIL joked that hubby may not be playing golf on Sunday as my tummy was really big and low, and looked like I was going to pop anytime. Hubby told Isabelle while she’s in the tummy that “Don’t come out first, let daddy play golf then only you come out, ok?”
After I put Justin to sleep at night, and I went downstairs to blog, blog and blog! :)

I felt some discomfort on my tummy, it might be contraction and pain, but it’s too mild, so I ignore it and continue blogging. But at about midnight, the contraction became stronger and with shorter interval. I calculated the length of the contraction, it’s about 5 minutes and came again 10 minutes later. I went upstairs to wake up hubby, telling him that maybe it’s time to pop, but he could go back to sleep and I’d wake him up later after I had done changing, packing and beh tahan with the pain!

Hubby didn’t go back to sleep, he stayed up waiting for the time to go. We moved Justin to MIL’s room at about 2.30am, and MIL cooked a big plate of noodles to me. She asked me to finish it as I needed energy to push. But I was not hungry, so I took half of it, and hubby gao tim with the rest.

We headed to the hospital at 3.15am. It’s only less than 5 minutes drive, but when we turned into the main road, there was a road block. The policeman asked hubby if he’s drinking, but hubby said “Mau pergi hospital bersalin!” And the policeman was surprised to hear that! LOL! I could see from his expression! He let just go ASAP…

By the time I reached the hospital, I was in much pain. After changing into the gown, the nurse checked on me and I was 3 cm dilated. At the same time, there was a show. I wanted to walk around to speed up delivery, but the nurse preferred me to lie on bed as it’s in the middle of the night already. So, whenever I had a contraction, I held tight to hubby’s hand. I’m not the type who will yell in pain, like some mothers giving birth in movies, ok? :P

The lady who’s in charged of collecting the stem cell, Lena, was summoned to the hospital too. The nurse asked her to stay and wait as they said my dilation was pretty fast.

At 4.30am I opt for epidural. I really didn’t want to go through labour pain!!! But right after that, my blood pressure dropped drastically. I was feeling so dizzy and fainting out! The nurse gave me another jab, which I can’t remember what’ the name already, to ease the side effect of epidural. Anyhow, my blood pressure was still low, and I was feeling very sleepy.

The graph showed very mild contraction after epidural. It looked like my labour was slowing down, but the nurse didn’t check my dilation as they were very busy that night. There were a few mothers giving birth from morning till now! So, they were rushing from one delivery suite to another, helping other mothers giving birth. I was lying there “semi-conscious” with hubby and Lena who couldn’t go back because the nurse asked her to stay. Poor gal, pity her had to be there waiting for Isabelle.

Isabelle was having irregular heart beat. The fetal indicator couldn’t get her heart beat some times, and I was worried!

Hubby told the nurse to take off the epidural some time at about 7am, but the nurse said it couldn’t be undone. I was too drowsy to say anything, and some how, my blood pressure was affecting my contractions too. They were really weak. It seems like Isabelle’s not coming out sooner…

So, hubby went out to take some drinks to refresh himself, but once he’s out, my ob-gynae came in, rushing over from another hospital. He’s been busying delivering babies the whole night till morning!!!

He looked at the graph, and checked my dilation. He said I was fully dilated, but there’s a problem….the ambilical cord was around the baby’s neck, that’s why she had irregular heart beat. When I heard that, I was worried too. I couldn’t think much but only thought of caesarean.

The nurse quickly asked hubby to get back, and my doc said baby was coming out quick! By the time hubby rushed in, Isabelle’s head could be seen already. I didn’t push at all! But doc asked me to push one hard, and he entangled the umbilical cord off her neck. Hubby saw everything, he’s kan cheong to see her tangled up like that too! Then I made 2 more pushes and she’s out!!!

Phew! I thought my contraction was so weak, but my dilation was effective! Gee, it’s the first time I saw her face as we couldn’t get a glimpse of her throughout the ultra sound check up. I was so glad to hold her in my arms, and thinking back of my problematic pregnancy, and “sleepy” delivery…Everything just didn’t matter much at that moment.

I wanted to hold her a bit longer, but the nurse took her away for jab and shower ASAP. Oh boy, they must have had a hard and busy night because they just ignore her crying in the cot while busy getting the jobs ready. I wanted to hold her but I was having my stitches…

Ok, everything else was blur to me then. I only remembered that she’s eager to breastfeeding when I was wheeled out. So, I breastfeeding her for the first time on the bed, being wheeled to the room :)

So, here are some of the early photos of Isabelle…

And here’s how she look now. :) (Sorry, I snapshot her album, so the photos are a bit blur)

Baby Articles

I like reading Baby Articles, ever since I was planning for baby until now. When I was a first time mom, I was inexperienced, and worried a lot. I felt like I need to be perfect, and I really read up a lot of baby related topics like SID, colic, breastfeeding, development milestone and etc.MIL said I read too much! LOL! But I prefer to be well informed, than blindly believe in what other people say. With adequate reading, at least I know better if I should follow some one’s advice or just smile and say thanks for their concerns. :)
