Playing at the Window

Mommy, where is koh koh? I want koh koh to pull the curtains with me. :P

My kids really like to play at the window of my room. Our bed was placed just at the window, and the curtains reach the side of the bed. They like to flip and close, pulling them down, or just hiding behind the curtains almost everyday. My only concern is what if they really pulling down the curtains and break one for the rails? My niece broke one when she was playing with the curtains downstairs, but she didn’t get hurt.

I’m been telling hubby that we need to replace the curtains with blinds. We still can’t make up our minds, sometimes we want to have cellular shades, but sometimes I feel that Roman blinds are better choices.

The Roman blinds from JustBlinds.com are high-quality woven fabrics not only come in many shades of colours, they are capable of filtering the light as well. I’m not sure if they provide international shipping, but if we buy more than $399 worth of purchase, we can opt not to pay for the first 90 days! That cool huh?

But who’s going to put the blinds up? Hubby is the a good handyman though. :P

Room Rearrangement

Hubby came back this evening, and I’ve told him about my intention of rearranging the room. Isabelle can’t sleep with us on the bed because my king size mattress is really to heavy to be taken out under the sun occasionally. I would like her to sleep on mattress that can be exposed to the sun to kill as much dust mites as possible.

So, this weekend, we will be busy moving the PC and furnitures. We have to shop for new and thicker mattress for the kids too. I wanted to have beds like those children bed from north carolina furniture but my room can’t fit them it already. The kids need some space to play too when I’m blogging in the room.

So, they have no choice but to sleep on the floor. I think they will like it, if I get them some nice bedsheet. If only the build-in wardrobe can be moved. Then we will have better arrangement.

Meal Time

For the past few days, my kids behave very well during meal times. I don’t have to stop Isabelle from climbing out from the high chair, asking Justin to sit nicely, asking Justin to stop picking on his food, chasing them around when they prefer to eat somewhere else other at the table and etc. It was a bliss……….

Justin and Isabelle guai guai eating

I can also eat together with them, as Isabelle likes to eat by herself now, and my maid can help out with her. See, so nice hoh? That even makes me think about getting my own cookware, looking for nice recipe to prepare for my kids and really cook for them!

If they are willing to eat like this everyday, I really think I should start preparing their food as I have more free time. But how can I be in the kitchen with Isabelle who doesn’t want me to leave her sight? Mmm….. I really don’t know how other SAHM do this, cooking, taking care of their kids and still be able to blog. Ha! I just don’t know how to squeeze in the cooking part now.

Having Breakfast Outside

I have home cooked breakfast frequently, but we only have it in the dining room. But sometimes, I let my kids eat outside, just by sitting on their kiddy stools. They like to have breakfast this way because they have feel the morning breeze and also watch the birds that come and feed on the crumbs my maid leaves to dry under the sun.

If only we have some teak outdoor furniture outside the house, that will be great.

Update on Bali Trip

My friend who’s going to Bali with me called just now. She said that the flight tickets from Air Asia had increased again! They haven’t booked, so she better booked one one because the prices keep increasing as the date of departure is nearer.

I’ve bought the tickets last month for hubby and the kids. The only thing left is to get the kids international passports ready, and we are ready to go! The total cost of this trip is still unknown as we are going as free and easy. We haven’t booked the hotels, as hubby is still looking around. I guessed the amount of money paid will be almost the same as the family package for cruises. It’s not a long trip because we are only going for 4 days.

Mmm….I’m counting down now and can’t wait to fly to Bali with my kids.

Ski Vacation

I know hubby missed skiing a lot. When we went to Korea 3 years ago, he didn’t have a chance to ski as much as he could as we were only stopped by the skiing resort for one day. So I make a point that when the kids are older, we should go for a skiing trip again.

It doesn’t really matter where we are going, as long as the show is thick and it’s a great skiing resort, just like one of the resorts from Park City lodging. I prefer those built with logs as we have never stayed in a cottage before.

Deer Lake Village

This cottage has is complete with a private outdoor hot tub! Wow, I wonder how it feels like soaking in a hot tub under the show. :)

Student Loan Consolidation

I took a state government student loan when I was studying in university. It was not a big amount, and it could only cover my school fees, but not other expenses. I was complaining that the loan that I had was too little while my friends who got the PPPTN could get more money. However, I had an advantage over them. I don’t have to repay my loan because I was graduated with 1st class honors, but my friends got to repay theirs regardless of their results.

They are still paying their huge amount of loans. If they are doing well in their jobs, money should not be a problem. But if you can’t seems to repay your study loan, get school loan consolidation, and see if you can take advantage of flexible repayment options. This will help you to improve your credit status and give you some debt relief temporarily.

Oh well, if you have a car or house to pay, and some credit card debts on top of your student loans, you should really consider getting a loan consolidation from professionals.

Getting a House

Hubby and I know that we can’t stay with their parents forever. We still don’t have plans to get a new house yet as we would like to stay in a house with big compound and it’s quite hard to buy a house like that with our current financial status. No point tying ourselves up and mess up with the quality of our lives by paying for huge amount of housing installment.

Furthermore, hubby has a few business project in planned and I’m not sure if they will come true. He may need lots of money to kick start the project and I worried that if something gets wrong, we will end up in bankruptcy. :P Even if I know about mortgage refinancing, but I just didn’t want to take that risk. Anyway, it’s just a house, and we are staying comfortably in one now.

But for those who are having a financial crisis, think about California mortgage refinance. Lots of businessmen opt for refinancing when they need extra cash to turn around.

Gee….I wonder when will I have my own house too. But I’m too kiasi to pay for the installment. :P

Allergy Attack Again

My maid and I have been very careful with Isabelle because her skin is very sensitive. We change the bedsheets and pillow cases frequently, but still, Isabelle is having dust mite allergy again. My sheets are anti-dust mite, but it’s not working!

Isabelle at the clinic

When her paediatrician saw her face, he was not as surprised as before. He prescribed Eurax for her because it’s steroid free, and asked us to make sure that the carpet, sofa, hubby’s office furniture or cushions are clean from dust mite as well. Wah, my maid is going to be busy this weekend!

Yesterday, she was pretty and lovely in her photos. But today, she has allergy attack already. Sigh!

Robeez Shoes from The Lil Caliph

# mom2que – May 24th, 2007 at 7:11 pm editHi Dear,

If you like the shoes please write some review on our site -http://www.thelilcaliph.com- about the shoes so others could benefit from that too. Thanks a lot!

Ha! I like it the most when advertisers approach me and leave comments on the posts I wrote about their sites. It’s like they really READ what I wrote!

Frankly, I had written about The Lil Caliph the day they put their ad on my blogs. I did a brief review about the site at Mothering Corner for free because I like the have baby products related sites featured on my blogs. I’m a mother who shops a lot online, so it’s good to know more exciting local web stores that sell good products.

Coincidentally, I was looking for shoes for Isabelle. When I checked out their site, I saw the cute infant shoes, but I wasn’t aware of the brand. It was Samm who confirmed that they are from Robeez and both of us are thrilled to find out that they are actually selling in Malaysia! So, we quickly ordered for our kids.

My girl is wearing the shoes when she is playing outside since yesterday. She has started walking 3 weeks ago, and normally, it’s advisable not to out shoes on baby who has just started walking, at least for the first 4 weeks. But the shoes from Robeez are really soft and the soles are flat. My girl is walking as if she is not wearing anything, and thus she is still able to walk steadily outside the house.

Walk walk walk….

On top of that, I love the soft leather which is breathable. She doesn’t need to wear socks with the shoes and the shoes won’t stink! That’s a bliss to my maid who’s hand washing all my kids clothes. :P
