Justin Reads

We read to Justin since he was 3 months old. Being the first baby, he had most of our attention and time, as comparing to Isabelle. Thus, he has a deep interest in books, and likes us to read to him whenever possible.

I was trying to put them to their afternoon nap today, and as usual, Justin wanted to read before he slept. But he found one of his old board book, and started “reading” by himself.

Later tonight, when I was nursing Isabelle to sleep, he read by himself again. Hubby is not around to read to him, and I asked him to wait for me to put mei mei to sleep first. Instead of waiting or playing, he read. Of course, he didn’t go word by word, but just reciting from the pictures. Too bad I was nursing lying down, if not, I would get the camera and capture it for hubby to see when he’s back.

I don’t expect him to know the numbers or alphabet yet. As long as he likes to read, it’s more than enough. As for Isabelle, she has begun to show interest in books as well, even if it’s only for a few minutes per session. As long as she likes it, I’m more than glad.
