Learning to Share

My kids fight a lot, but there are some heart melting moments too like sharing a lollipop. I took a few shots of them sharing Isabelle’s lollipop because Justin finished his ASAP but Isabelle ate it slowly. So, when Justin was asking for more, she fed koh koh with hers.

I feed koh koh…

Now it’s my turn…

 I’m such a good girl!

If only they can learn how to behave like this 24/7 huh? Then parenting will be a piece of cake. :)

I Miss My Sofa

I almost have forgotten about my custom made Sofa until I saw it again in the next room when I placed my luggage last night. I purposely get the sofa to fit in my room when we were married because I felt that the little corner was too empty. Besides, I would like to have a little reading corner, all to myself.

Little that I know, that sofa became my nursing chair. I used it a lot when I was nursing my newborn babies. When the kids have grown up and needed more space for the room, we moved the sofa out. Frankly, I am kind of missing the sofa. If you are wondering what can be done with a little corner of your house, get a custom made sofa then. :)

We Love Indulgence

Justin has been bugging us to dine at Indulgence for some time. Hubby doesn’t really like the place but all 3 of us love it! So he lost and got to dine with us there as well. The majority wins, ok?

They were so happy to be there again last Saturday, and they were wandering around in the restaurant.

We love this place!

My kids love cherries, but I can’t seem to get any from Jusco lately. So, we ordered some cherries as appetizer.

Fresh juicy cherries

Mommy, we want cherries please!!!

Of course, the food was slow, as usual. So, my kids finished off 2 basket of wholemeal bread first while waiting for their food. Anyway, they love bread and butter. Seeing them munching the bread will probably made other diners think, “Wah, the bread looks tasty!” LOL!

One left only…

I better eat fast and take the last one too.

I can spread the butter by myself.

So, when hubby’s spaghetti was served, Justin took some, but Isabelle was too full for that. She started walking around in the restaurant and mommy got to play the chasing game with her. Luckily, she sat back at the table once the kids meal arrived. Of course lah, got FRIES!!! Which kid doesn’t like fries?

Fries and ketchup! Yummy…and fattening lah…

When we were there, we saw something that puzzled us. There was one boy who refused to be followed by his mother to the gents. His mother stood outside the washroom, waiting for the kid. But once he got out, he was rage with anger and began throwing tantrum and shouting to his mother. When he walked back to his table, he slammed the door and locked it too so that his mother couldn’t not get it. They were seated at the smoking section, which is location just beside out table at the bar area. His mother didn’t say a word from the beginning until the end. The waitress came and opened the door to let the mother in. The boy just sat back by his dad, crying while daddy was comforting him.

When hubby saw this, he said maybe the mother was not the real mom. Huh??? Why? He said most parents will surely scold or discipline the kid already and won’t let him humiliate the mother like this. He said the boy was damn spoiled. Well you know, one of those rich spoiled brats?

Well, I don’t know. I don’t think it’s right to hit a kid, but maybe I will just scold my kids softly. Frankly, at situation like this, I’m not sure how to handle it. But I think that boy’s father should help the mother instead of sitting there looking at the boy shouting at his mom in public.

Another Family Vacation?

When I was out with my friend yesterday, they asked if we would like to join them for a trip to Disney Hong Kong in December. I would love to go there but I have plans for Melbourne by the end of the year, if hubby can squeeze some time out for the trip.

I love to travel around and prefer to have at least a family vacation once a year. If money or time is not an issue, don’t you wish to travel as often as possible? I would be delighted if I can do that with my kids and bring them around as much as possible before they start formal education. Once they have started school, we can only wait for school holidays, which may be work well with hubby’s schedule.

But I have so many places in mind that I wish to bring the kids around, and hopefully all of them can be materialized. Just take Philadelphia as an example, we have never been there. Since we don’t have many friends and relatives there as well, I have to arrange the accommodation, or book some tour package. Going free and easy is not that hard as long as I manage to book Philadelphia Hotels from travel sites like Side Step. There is a travel guide provided as well, thus it may not be that hard to plan for some day trips which are suitable for my kids. I am glad that there are tips given from the site if this is our first trip to US. Besides, I found a nice zoo to bring my kids there too!

But before I get over excited about this, let me work out our trip to Bali first. We are going off in a few weeks and I have to make sure that all the shopping is done and things are well packed before we are departing.

Pee Pee at Sink

Before I became a mother, I always complained that why SIL would let her kids pee in the bathroom sinks. I knew it’s more convenient for little babies to pee at the sink, but don’t you think it’s very dirty? Disgusting? Unhygienic?

But I tell you, I did a few times myself too. :P But mostly because they have peed somewhere, and I washed them at the sinks. So my maid better do a good job in cleaning up all the sinks at home!!!

How many mothers out there are doing the same too? But please don’t do this in public, it’s so unhygienic.

When to Move Out?

I was asked again if I have plans to move out. Well, yes, but not now. My kids are still very young and if we move out, I will still need a maid. The thing about maid is you need one, but you may not fully trust one initially. I didn’t get my maid to handle Justin when she first started. I think it was about the time I was conceived with Isabelle, then only she started helping me with him. Ok, I’m paranoid, but I have always believe that mothers will always be the best people for the kids, most of the time lah!

If we have a luxury home now, it still won’t be a good time to move out. Unless I can handle everything, especially the house chores without a maid, then it should be ok. So, I am still very far away from being a supermom, one that can cook, drive the kids around, make money, clean the house, teh with hubby, dress up like a queen and still happy to be a woman. But well, never try, never know huh? Maybe I can be one too. I love challenges.

So, when to move out? Let’s wait until I have my dream house with a nice garden first.

Hubby Pai Kah

My kids are getting bored. We are in Penang, but no shopping today. Hubby sprained his ankle so we can’t go out now. Maybe my parents will bring the kids out after their naps. Being in Penang but no shopping is a bit odd to me. Not to mention, my kids are feeling the same too. They have got used to shopping and gai gai whenever we are around, so now they are restless.

If we get the real estate to look for a house for us here, and move back to Penang, I think my kids will be shopping prince and princess in no time! LOL! But better not, later my money all gone. :P

I’m Paranoid about Knives

When it comes about knives, I have to be very careful with my kids and I will scream in fright when I see them trying to put their hands on the knives. LOL! I have reminded everyone in the house that all the daggers and knives should be placed in safe places, away from my kids because I cannot risk them from getting hurt. Maybe I’m just being paranoid.

But when I was studying, I used to know a girl who put a knife in her bag. No, she was not trying to harm anyone, but she was trying to protect herself. I used to think that she is over reacting, but now I can understand her fears. She was just using the knife as precaution and self defense. Not seriously, she had never really needed to take it out because she had never encountered in any dangerous situation before, and not that I was hoping for that too!

I had a pepper spray and an alarm in my bag too, when I was staying out by myself. I was in JB, one of the most “disturbing” places I had ever been. So, I felt that I needed to protect myself better. When my kids are older, I may get them some of these self defense gadgets too. As I said, I’m one of those paranoid mommies!

If you can’t find them anywhere, get them online from Extremely-Sharp. This site has lots of swords and knives for hunting, camping, fishing, martial arts and self defense. As long as you need the knives and daggers away from the kids, it’s ok to add them in your collections. The bamboo swords look really nice! They have a monthly contest and newsletter which includes free gifts like pocket knives, swords, martial arts equipment and other items. So, are the bamboo swords going to be given out free too? :)

Update on Their Bean Sprouts

My kids were so happy today. They have been very guai, watering their beans every evening and hoping to see them grow. This afternoon, I took some shots of them with their bean sprouts which had grown more than 2cm tall. They might not been any use to us, and I don’t think they will survive long either. But seeing the happy faces on the kids, I just don’t have the heart of telling them the truth but kept encouraging them to water the plants.

Grow up loh!!!

The proud koh koh who remembers to water everyday.

Hahaha! My girl just got to learn how to smile like a girl, but I love her small eyes big mouth smile. :)

Fly Me to London

I haven’t been to UK. When hubby (then boyfriend) was there on his business trip many years ago, I was sitting for my final year examination in university, so it was not a good idea to follow him there. I couldn’t possibly miss my final papers, right? Thus, I missed the chance of visiting UK.

Nonetheless, we will probably visit UK one day when my kids are older. They haven’t been on long distance flight before, so I prefer to wait until they are ready for it. But I know where to look for nice and cheap hotels in London. All those affordable London hotels can be easily found from HotelClub.com.

There are hotels from 2 to 5 stars and you can easily sort them according to your budget. Since I have always preferred hotels with 4 stars and above, I can easily find more than 30 hotels from the directory. But which one is better? That we will have to Google and search for more information on the hotels because the new forum doesn’t have many posts in there yet. Maybe by the time I’m going, there will be more travelers who are willing to share their experiences at the forum.

Besides that, I can get some information about car rental quotes, flights, sightseeing, travel insurance and others from the site too. I am totally unfamiliar with London, so I better do more research before we go there since my kids will definitely be coming along. I can’t take the risk of having them staying in some lousy hotels or having a bad trip.

Luckily, we have INTERNET now! As long as we plan well ahead, the trip will most probably turn out to be great.

This post is brought to you by Hotel Club.
