What’s the Big Deal?

Hubby said I got to start and heat up the Ranger first before turning the air-conditioning and player on. Seriously, how to remember this routine? I’m always in a hurry when I’m going out!

But never mind, if I screw up the car, I will get the parts online for him. How much can car Radiators cost? I have money in my Paypal! LOL! Anyway, it’s always cheaper shopping online, and hopefully the free shipping covers Asia too. :)

Delayed Bedtime

My kids are getting to bed later and later for the past few days. By the time they are asleep, it’s about 11 plus. Why? They are staying up waiting for daddy who are rushing back from KL almost everyday!!!

I know it sounds crazy but I let them stay up for hubby. Once hubby gets back, they will be very excited and want to play horse back riding with daddy. Seeing them screaming, shouting and laughing excitedly is great. But of course, I have to be prepared for some nightmares at night after all the excitement.

Justin won’t even take his milk if hubby is not there to feed him at night. He quits bottle since last week, and has been using a cup and straw. But he doesn’t want anyone to hold the cup for him, neither holding by himself. He wants only hubby to hold up the cup. See, he is so good at “threatening” hubby to come home for him. If hubby is not back by sunset, he wants to call him and ask if he is coming back, almost everyday. Even Isabelle also likes “talking” to the phone, looking for hubby. She doesn’t talk, but she wants to hold on the handset.

It’s so tiring for hubby, and I know that. But seeing them spending some quality time at night makes me smile.

Home Theater is Cool

My uncle is TI has a nice home theater system in one of the rooms in the his house. When I was there for my cousin’s wedding, almost everyone hid in the room for nice movies, instead of chatting with others. :P

But too bad, he doesn’t have home theater seating and most of us will have to sit on the floor. It might be a bit uncomfortable of some of the relatives who are not used to sitting on the ground. But well, if I have one of those nice houses with lots of rooms, like the those in Ipoh Garden East, it is possible to have one room being converted to a home theater. Since I can’t go for movie as frequent as before, I hope that we will get ourselves some Berkline home theater seatin so that we can have some DVD sessions as if we are watching in the cinemas.

Won’t that be a great idea?

No Funeral

I tried to avoid attending funerals after having kids. Not that I am superstitious, but MIL and my mum will prefer my kids to stay away from funeral if possible, unless it involves close family members. Some old folks believe that kids will get “disturbed” by some supernatural force or negative “qi” from funeral, so it’s advisable not to let the kids be there.

However, we can always send some sympathy gift baskets to show our condolences even if we cannot be there. These basket are really nice, but too bad, they are only applicable in US. I’m not sure if I can find anyone here locally. Most of the time, I will get someone to send a small token of money and regards to the family. I guess most Chinese will do the same.

Jewelry Shopping

My mum’s birthday falls in September, and all the while we only eat out with her because she doesn’t like us to spend money on getting her something nice. Frankly, I have never bought her anything expensive or fancy like estate jewelry. It’s not that I can’t afford to get her some jewelry, but she would prefer us not to get her any. But this set of retro brooch and earrings that will look nice on her as shown below:

This set will look nice for formal dinner like wedding reception because I know my mum has a few invitation lately. Besides, she will look nice too if she puts them on on her birthday. There are so many nice jewelry to choose from, and if you like antique jewelry, you will definitely find a lot from Lang Antiques.

As for me, I only like something simple, but comes with lots of diamonds! I love this Piaget diamond bracelet which is simple elegant.

But I’m not going to get this myself. Hubby will have to pay for it!

Fighting and Fighting

Both my kids started to fight a lot lately. Sometimes, I wonder if I’m not being strict enough with them because no matter how many times I’ve been telling them about sharing, they are still doing the same thing over and over again!

Nowadays, Isabelle likes writing a lot, and she wants to use the table. Whenever she is using the table, Justin will surely come and ka ka cau cau, thus more fights! When Justin was too rough on her, I will smack on his hand and tell him not to do it. I’m not so sure about spanking, so I feel guilty of doing so. I am trying hard not to do so now, and looking for another approach. Maybe I should try a performance chart with them and give them stickers based on how they behave. I got to try this out.

Even if they are fully aware that they can use my office desks, but they just want to fight for the kids table. Yes, I can get another set, but the room will be really cramp!

Hai yo, fighting is part of growing up huh?

Asset Management System

I have found a better way in managing FIL’s asset. All the while only SIL helps him to manage it with her brain and some spreadsheet. Thus, it does not sound likes highly efficient as the professional real estate portfolio, right?

So, by getting a Real Estate Asset Management system, we can easily managing his asset both locally and in oversea since it is web-based and he can easily use it anywhere and manage the lease and expense performance of his properties.

So, if you have lots of asset to manage, get the system from Siterra too.

Birds and Bats

We have lots of birds coming to our house everyday because my maid will dry the crumbs of cakes in front of the house, and dump some left over at the back of the house. These birds are here for a feast! Of course, most of the time, we only see pigeons, sparrows and some other common birds, but occasionally, we will catch a glimpse of kingfisher and hummer too!

However, we cannot go near the birds as once my kids try to approach them, they will fly away. I have been thinking of getting a pair of binoculars for them when they are older. It would be fun to watch the bird from the house. :) But maybe another pair of night vision binoculars will be great too if we would like to see the bats at the trees. Yes, we have bats too!

Isabelle: 15 months old

Height: 73 cm

Weight: 9kg

I notice that Isabelle is really petite as comparing to other kids about her age. But she is a big eater and she eats a lot! As long as she sees someone with food, she will ask for a few bites.

I took her to the clinic for her chicken pox jab this morning, and she was a tough cookie. She only cried when she was jabbed, and stopped shortly after. I remembered that Justin would cry a lot when he’s about this age. But all the while, Isabelle has been an easy baby.

She still not talking yet, besides that bababa mum mum stuffs. But she understands very well what we are talking to her about, and she follows most of the instruction correctly too. I love to see her helping us out by putting the books or toys away, throwing her diapers in the bin or putting her clothes in the laundry basket. She looks so cute!

Lately, she has begun to show a deeper interest in nursery rhymes. She likes Jack and Jill, and I sing this rhymes at least 10 times a day! She will bring the book to me and ask me to sing to her. If hubby’s around, she will do the same as well. Besides that, she recognizes a lot of zoo animals like elephant, lion, tiger, monkey, horse, tortoise, owl, crocodile, and many more, on top of the pet animals she knows previously. I guess she learns a lot from the books lately. She likes flashcards too, but since she can’t talk yet, I will ask her to choose the correct picture from a few cards. So far, I think she recognizes about 30 of the cards now.

She is very good at feeding herself with fork and spoon, but sometimes, we need to help her to scoop the food up so that it will be easier for her. But the thing is, Isabelle doesn’t like to be helped. She prefers to eat by herself. It’s a blessed to us when we are eating out because as long as she eats, we can eat too. However, the mess she makes everyday is really a headache to us! But it’s part of growing up. So far, the mess is getting lesser.

When she’s nursing, she likes to practice the different parts of the face with me. I used to hold her fingers and point it to my nose, then her nose, and continue to other parts of the face. Now, whenever she’s nursing, she will point to me and ask me to repeat the parts. If I ask her to point, she can recognize all of them, including some parts of the body.

She knows how to watch TV with Justin, especially Elmo and Barney. It’s a bliss to me when they are watching TV together for 30 minutes because I can do some knitting! Oh ya, before I forgot, here’s Isabelle with her first lollipop given by her paediatrician today. She got one for koh koh, so both of them enjoy the lollipop while watching Elmo on TV.

Yum yum lollipop!
