They Have Grown Up A Lot

CIMG7499

I took this photo when we were having some Japanese food. It’s nothing special but as usual, my kids were fascinated by the mini waterfall with some fish in it, so I just took some random shots. I realized that my kids have grown up a lot, and I have some flashes of memories when both of them are just newborn babies.

On top of that, we watched some home video we took in Kuching (here and here) last year, and we can really see the different between now and then and how much they have grown. And maybe a few years from now, they will move out from our room and share the room next door sleeping in their bunk beds. Gee…I am sure that I’m going to miss sleeping being sandwiched by my kids. I have got used to co-sleeping with them, not having them by my side is quite weird.

Thus, I better cherish their growing up years as much as I can. Luckily I started a blog about the kids and I can easily find some posts and photos of them when they were younger, if not I will regret it.

Sharing / Fighting for Mochi

CIMG7483

I used to take lots of mochi when I was in Penang, but in Ipoh, it’s only sold at certain places. My kids seldom have mochi, but the love it. This morning, we had our breakfast at Kong Heng with hubby’s cousin from Australia and Menglembu. The kids were excited to see the mochi and they were fighting sharing for it. We got a few boxes but they finished them off like a flash!

Of course, it can be a bit messy having mochi, but who cares lah, they were not having it at home. It’s not like I have to clean up the place with a Miele vacuum cleaner, we just let them mess it up. Anyway, mochi is one of the food Hakka have the night before their wedding, you know or not? MIL is good at making it, but it’s too much work for her, so we just eat out lah. I don’t want to clean up the mess too. LOL!

When A Kid Is Sick…

No, none of my kids is sick now. It was days ago when Isabelle was not feeling well and she was very clingy to me. I was very tired, but since she couldn’t sleep at night, I couldn’t get my 4 hours sleep too. Those 3 days were horrible! When she was not feeling well, this is the way she wanted to sleep in with…

CIMG7480

Hubby took that shot in the middle of the night. See? She’s sleeping on me. I could hardly breathe as she’s not as light as before, but what to do? One simple move will wake her up!

Besides that, she was super grumpy like nothing seems to be right for her. Take a look at her grumpy face…

CIMG7481

I joked to hubby, if I’m not patience enough, I would go crazy or ask the real estate agent to get me a house as far away from here! Seriously, patience is everything when it comes to dealing with a fussy kid.

But I kept telling myself, she’s not feeling well and she didn’t know how to tell me about it, so I have to be more understanding. Luckily, she recovered from her fever and coughing already. Thank god!

I wanted to write about this days ago, but you know lah, with a fussy kid, I decided to delay this post.

I’m Sick of Barney

CIMG7437

I know it’s not the first time I wrote about how Justin loves Barney, but now we have 2 Barney fans at home. Everything they have is mostly some products from Barney and I am so sick of that purple dinosaur now. Frankly, I don’t think Barney is cute because he’s fat and look a bit clumsy, but my kids adore it a lot. To them, he’s the best friend they have and they will watch the CDs everyday.

I stopped watching the whole clips with them now. Most of the songs are repeated and I have lots of them in my mind. I just want to get them out of my mind and forget about the tunes and lyrics! But too bad, some times my kids will request me to sing the songs so I have to memorize them.

So how many Barney products do you have at home? I have lost count of mine. It is definitely one great business opportunity to produce Barney related products!

Credit Card Consolidation and Debt Relief Needed If Overspend

I was talking to hubby just now about how much a family needs to have a moderate living in Australia. You know, I’m just curious about this as it’s only the wife who is working full time while hubby’s cousin is only operating his new business from home. Hubby said they only have to pay for the house as car and the rest are pretty cheap over there. The kids have subsidies at school so they don’t have to pay that much. It seems like a good life staying in Australia as she told me her work is so relaxing as comparing to her previous job in Dell.

So, if they don’t spend much, they don’t have much debt to be repaid. Luckily she is not keen to shopping like I do. If I were there, I will shop till I drop in Richmond since they have Esprit warehouse there. I shopped a lot when I went there for a holiday, and it’s a nice place for shopping.

I really blew my credit cards but I didn’t know anything about Credit Card Consolidation as a temporary Debt Relief. No one tells me about this at that time. But I managed to settle the debt in less than 2 months as I didn’t shop a lot. I was still single anyway, and I don’t spend on anyone except myself.

But if I go there again, I will be shopping for my kids as well. I think I might need a platinum card for the trip. LOL!

Used or New Cars Are The Same To Me

I no nothing much about cars except the color and how good it looks. As long as I have a car for my convenience and I don’t have to pay for it, I don’t mind much about what car model it is. However, that doesn’t mean I won’t be thrilled if hubby gives me a car ok? I don’t mind if he gets one of those Used Cars, as long as the car looks nice and it’s practical.

Maybe I am just one of those lucky ones who is not paying for a car now. On top of that, all our cars are registered under company name, so we don’t have to pay for the maintenance as well. If you are wondering why didn’t we get a nice car, well is it really necessary? I don’t want to waste unnecessary money over a piece of metal that will have depreciation over the years and I may not even make a profit selling it off.

That’s why I don’t mind driving one of those Used Cars or any new cars. They are all the same to me, as long as they are not ugly and I don’t have to pay for them.

Justin’s Night Out

Hubby wanted to go out for coffee with his cousins who are back from Australia, and asked me to put the kids in bed. I didn’t have problem with Isabelle who wanted nen nen to sleep, but Justin wanted to be with daddy. So I asked hubby to drag him along. I tired to ignore hubby’s reluctant look and concentrating on putting Isabelle to sleep.

Justin is a big boy now, and I don’t mind him delaying his bedtime especially during the weekend. Furthermore, they were only out for supper and coffee, so it’s not somewhere inappropriate for him.

Just as I excepted, they came home an hour later as Justin was fussing about going home. LOL! It’s his first coffee night out. Next time, when Isabelle is older, I will bring the kids along for some coffee at Starbucks.

Mac Games

I’m not a Mac user, but BIL#2 has an iMac. I love the color, and the video editing software that comes with it. That’s why I always pass my tapes to him and he will edit them for me. I don’t have time for that ok?

Since he is spending so much time on editing, he needs to take a break as well. I will let him know about all these mac games which he can download and play at his Mac. But I’m not sure if he is good at playing games, I haven’t seen him playing any!

Family, Money or Blogs?

I have been frequently asked about how I manage to take care of my kids and blogging so much in a day. Well, I don’t blog so much everyday as I like to be lazy and get some pampering treats occasionally. But with my kids, I learned to let go and try not to be fussy about everything. When I have only Justin, I was a supermom, but with Isabelle, I learned that things cannot be as perfect as expected. She has different characteristics as comparing to Justin, so my parenting method is double-standard now. I can’t use the same way for both of them.

But Isabelle taught me something, just because she’s more cheeky and more challenging than Justin, that doesn’t mean she is less than perfect. She has her own qualities too and I adore dearly. So when it comes to blogging and kids, if I’m in the midst of rushing like crazy, I try not to be strict to the kids. If they want to turn the room upside down, I will let them to do. Really. As long as they are not doing anything dangerous, I will just blog and keep an eye on them. But when my offers are all done, I will grab them tightly and we will have some reading, playing or talking. Sometimes, I will bring them out for some ice-cream or getting some toys. They need some pampering too.

There is always a balance when it comes to my family, money and blogs. I keep telling myself, if the money is there, just take it if I can. If I can’t do it, just leave it there. It’s not that my life is depending on it. That’s my attitude. So how come I only realized this after having Isabelle? It’s because she has this easy go lucky characteristic, but when she’s determine to do something, she will make sure that she does it. It sounds a lot like me, and I can see myself in her.

Gee, you know what I’m rumbling about ah? :P

Get Some Traffic for This Blog

I found that some times it’s great to be taking part in meme. One of the tags that I joined brought some traffic to this blog and I’m thrilled about it. You see, I am still struggling with the Adsense and I hope that my kids blog will get more on that. Then I don’t have to worry about the month hosting fee I’m paying for my server!

If only I can afford to get some search engine marketing done by the webmasters or professionals. My webmaster is too busy to handle these issues for me so I have to do it by myself. It’s not as easy as it seen but I’m willing to learn. Hopefully, this blog will be getting more traffic from mothers or parenting sites. The number of my comments is pathetic!
