We Love Tesco

Both my kids used to like going to Jusco, but lately, they love Tesco. Why? It’s because there is a fun fair! Isabelle will be pointing and yelling excitedly when she sees the Ferris Wheels. Justin just can’t wait to get on the train ride again and again.

On top of that, they love shopping at Tesco too. They like the shopping cart which can be used to place a baby and a kid at the same time.

Isabelle is actually too big for her baby seat, and she’s too tall to be comfortable in it. But they love it this way, so *sigh*, let them be lah. They are not going to be in there for so long. By 10 minutes, my monkey kids will be running around or asking us to carry them. :P

Tags-To cane or not to cane

Rachel tagged me on this, and even if I hardly do tag, I feel like this is a good tag to be participated in. I only hate those N things about me tags, ok? :P

So, do I cane my kids? Firstly, I don’t have a cane. MIL has hers, but she dares not cane my kids. LOL! I don’t prefer caning them but I will punish them by asking them to stand at the corner if they did something seriously bad. It’s like a corner where they will have to stand there and think about what have their done. Only Justin was being punished once, and since then, they know that mommy can be very stern as well.

I smack their hands a few times, but very hardly now. To me it’s not necessary to hit the kids, or maybe it’s just my way of parenting.

So, what about you?

Busy Toi Sei…

My blog buddy asked me why am I so busy lately? Yes, I’m really busy, but not with the blogs. I have to manage the food on the table since MIL is not around, and I have been rushing on a few knitting projects all at the same time. Just take a look at them… :P

29112007557.jpg

I have given up 3 projects but when I have time, I will get back with one of them if my boy really wants a policeman doll. Knitting is really time consuming especially on those that need to keep my eyes on the patterns and details. Besides that, with PR0, I have more time for spa and shopping. LOL! I’m so busy! Most of my afternoons are well planned out now, so I hardly blog like a freak as I used to be.

The only thing I hope to do now is watching more TV. If I have time for TV, I will bug hubby to get a nice plasma TV and plasma tv lift for the living room. It’s been some time since I watch any Hong Kong, Korean and Japanese series. I am so outdated now! If I can knit in front of the idiot box, wah seh, it’s really a nice si lai activity that I’m craving now. LOL!

I Forgot Our Wedding Anniversary

I cannot believe that I only remember my wedding anniversary this morning after reading a post by Lilian. Gee….both hubby and I didn’t realize this at all!!! Or maybe hubby remembers but he pretends to forget since I didn’t mention? LOL!

I’m really not one of those people who remembers dates well, except my kids’ birthdays. I guess it’s a good point to hubby too as I don’t ask for celebration or presents that often since I’m so forgetful. Maybe I should set all these important dates in my handphone and let it beep me on anything!!!

Gee….happy belated wedding anniversary to me….BTW, it was on 25th, the day we baked a cake at home….Maybe hubby treats the cake as our anniversary gift too? Wah!!! One stone kills 2 birds!

Stay At Home with Mommy

I have decided not to enroll Isabelle for the time being. She’s doing fine at school, but when she needs her milk feed at 11am, she will be fussy at school. I hate to see how sleepy she is when I picked her up at 11 plus. Then, I will have to pick up Justin an hour later. After some thoughts, I told the teacher that I will only enroll her when she can be at school for the whole morning. So, there is no hurry.

She’s a bit disappointed, and so does Justin. But it’s still best to delay this until she’s much older. She can just stay at home with me, and when the cousins are back a week later, she will have playmates again. Hopefully, they will be spending the morning at home to keep her company.

Oh boy, one day you will understand girl. You have a lot of years to go to school later, no point rushing for it now, ok?

Weekend Fun: Baking for Mommy

Hubby didn’t buy me a cake this year. He was back late at night on my birthday, and it’s impossible for him to get anything anyway. But he promised that he would bake a cake with the kids. So, yesterday, Justin and him got the things ready and they started baking after we came back from breakfast.

Hubby’s recipe book…He has it for a few years.

I’m a good helper

25112007531
I’m helping out too, but just to eat the cookies. LOL!

Ok, hubby wanted to bake a blueberry cheese cake. I told him to make the puree, but he wanted to modify the recipe. I said I wouldn’t help out so that he could have all the credit if the cake is nice. He said why not? Then, I gave him an answer that both of us couldn’t help laughing….

“If the cake sucks, it’s all your fault, not ours.” LOL! I was so bad…

Once everything was done, I put the cake in the microwave. It’s too watery as hubby refused to cook the puree but pour the blended sweetened blueberry into the cream cheese mixture. I was wondering if the cheese cake would turn out fine when I pressed the “start” button…

Baking…

Some time later, hubby took out the cake…Oh boy, it’s ugly. LOL!

25112007536
Baked!!! It’s blueberry cheesecake, but it looked too dark.

He put it in the fridge when it’s cold to freeze it. When the kids woke up from their nap, we cut the cake and tasted it. I’m surprised that it tasted well, even if it’s really ugly looking…. :P

25112007537
Ugly huh?

Have a bite… ya ya, I know it doesn’t look nice, but it tastes well.

25112007539
Justin said it’s good, and he’s proud of his cake.

25112007540
Isabelle likes it too.

Even my maid said it’s nice, but if it’s harder, it would be nicer. Overall, I love the cake. So thanks again dear! Bake more often for your lazy wifey ya? LOL! But I might need Miracle burn if I gain weight then. :P

Weekend Fun: Saturday

All of us had a good time last this weekend. We didn’t go anywhere, but it’s great spending time with each other and most importantly, the kids enjoyed daddy’s company.

Yesterday was a play day at the nursery and both Isabelle and Justin went to school in the morning. I picked them up at 11am, and I saw Isabelle’s drinking milk in the arms of the teacher. She cried for the milk as I could still see tears in her eyes when I arrived. Justin was still playing at the sandpit, but we left shortly after. They had music class in the afternoon, so I wanted them to take a early nap.

After their music class, we went for a swim. It was raining, but hubby said “so what?” :P No wonder my kids are kampung kids, for other parents, they might have ran their kids to shelter.

Swimming!

BTW, Isabelle was very brave in the water this time. After 30 minutes of splashing and floating with her float, she decided to go without it. She didn’t want hubby to hold her either! She slipped and fell, but once she got up, she started walking again! Those coughing and choking didn’t bother her much though.

Hubby wanted to bake me a belated birthday cake on Sunday, so we went to get the ingredients at Tesco. After some shopping, we went to the fun fair again. The kids enjoyed it a lot, but hubby almost puked after the plane ride. LOL!

We didn’t have a lot of rides as the fun fair was very crowded. We only took the plane, the train and the Ferris Wheels. Anyway, it’s been a long day and the kids were tired. Both of them fell asleep as soon as we got them changed in pajamas.

Isabelle: 19 months old

22112007482

Weight: 10kg

Height: Not measured, but she’s getting taller. It’s getting harder to measure her height.

Isabelle is very independent. Sometimes, she doesn’t look like a 19 months old as she does most of the things by herself. If she speaks well, a lot of people will mistaken her for being more than 2 years old. She only knows some words like “mama, papa, po po, miao (cat), woof (dog), jie jie, nen nen, mum mum, mmm mmm, no more, gai gai, ma (horse), pao pao, and some other sounds that only I understand. But she is more eager to follow us when we ask her to try to talk. Last night, when I was singing the phonic songs with Justin, she followed our singing, especially for the phonic sound of “a, f, h, i, m, o” and “s”. I’m so happy to see how much her has improved in her speech, as comparing to last month.

She has gone to school for 3 days, and today she cried. She was doing well until 11.30am. I got a call from the school telling me to pick her up, but I was already on my way. When I reached there, she was panting with breathe and I knew that she’s been crying a lot. The teacher said she refused to take the porridge and Justin couldn’t pacify her as well. Then my maid realized that we didn’t prepare milk for her as she has to take her milk at 11am. Poor girl…I told the teachers that I will prepare the milk for her, if she’s really ready for school. I am a bit reluctant to start her now, but she likes it. Maybe I have to pick her up earlier if she really enrolls.

Another thing is she likes to look for hubby whenever he’s not around. She will ask for hubby’s photos and “read” this blog to remember those places we went with hubby. Even if hubby is not shown in the photos, she knows that papa took her there. Just now, she kept pointing at Casuarina, signing that she wanted to go there. So hubby promised her that we will go there for hi tea and she was so happy. LOL! She’s getting good at capturing papa’s heart to be his little princess.

But Isabelle is not so girlie yet. While most girls like dolls, my gal like Shrek. *shake head*

When we are eating out, she doesn’t like her water anymore and will ask for our drinks. It’s hubby loh!!! Always give in to her and let her take those drinks. So, now she knows that we can have juice or other beverages when we are eating out.

23112007489
I like orange juice

BTW, she’s very good at dancing. LOL! It’s just that she stops doing it when she sees the viewcam. I have to capture those movements before she grows out of it.

Accident!!!

No, not me. I was driving back from yoga just now and there was an accident involving 3 cars that happened just 2 cars in front of mine. Luckily, I managed to stop immediately as I wanted to turn into a junction. I’m glad that the cars behind me managed to stop as well, if not, there would be more cars banging into each other. The driver in the last car as in pain as I could him when I was over-taking. Some policemen happened to be around nearby and they came to help.

Gee….I could really feel my weak knees when I stepped on the brake. My heart was pounding so fast I was still very panic when I reached home. The accident just happened in less than 200 meters from my house, but I was still kancheong. :P

Actually, I was so glad to see the exterior lighting of my house when I reached home. It’s such a great feeling arriving safely at home, and I have already taken this for granted. If you have such a close encounter with an accident, I think you would know how I feel.

Watching My Kids in the Evening

My kids play outside of the house a lot. If it’s raining and they cannot go out and play, they will complain about it. It’s already an habit to them to have some fun playing outside in the evening. I’m still keeping an eye on them, but when they are older enough, I hope that I can just sit and knit as I’m watching over them. We have a set of table and chairs outside so it’s nice to sit there while enjoying the cool evening breeze.

But if only the chairs are padded with cushions, then I think they will be more comfortable for sitting. Since we bought the chairs without any cushion, we have to custom make the Garden Furniture Cushions. If you are interested, you can get them done by CustomCushion.net. Just choose your cushion type and the style of your preference. Then select the dimension and fabric of your choice and you are done! The cushions are on the way to your home once you have completed the transaction.

The cushions are made with Sunbrella fabrics, so they are highly durable and versatile. I found one of the colors that I like, but I’m not getting the cushions now. I don’t have a chance to sit and watch my kids playing yet, let’s wait until they are much older first.

This post is brought to you by http://www.customcushions.net/chair.aspx.
