CNY is Getting Nearer

Chinese New Year is just more than a week away but I have got most of the things done except angpao money. I haven’t changed the notes, so one of the day next week, I am going to be stuck at the bank unless someone else volunteers to do the job for me. :P

Some of us don’t buy that much for Chinese New Year, but we still need to prepare the food and angpao. Seriously, if there is no bonus or extra money, I wonder how the family make it through? It’s not going to be easy huh? But if you are really rich like one of those that have yachts and boats, think about boat donation where the money raised will be used to create videos for kids and teens.

It’s still better than just gamble it away during Chinese New Year huh?

Yes, We Are Moving

Hubby is pretty sure about moving away but we haven’t decide on the date. There are so many preparation and documents needed before all of us can start all over again in a new land. Besides that, we haven’t got a house there. Hubby and I might be away again after Chinese New Year to find a place and buy some of the necessary things first before bring the kids over there.

Luckily, it’s not too far from here and the weather is still the same. If we are moving further away, we might even need to get the Central heating installation done when we are there. I can’t live without hot water bath, so I definitely need a heater! But if it comes with Gas central heating that harms the whole house, won’t that be more convenient for us? But then again, we don’t need any Boiler service because it’s going to be as hot as the weather around here. If I move to UK, I might want to give Northern Gas a call!

Of course, it’s not easy for us to settle down at first. All of us needs time to get adjusted and adapted, especially the kids. By all means, I think we will be just fine.

Art And Craft Day

Last Friday, we accompanied Justin to his school because there was an art and craft session being held where parents were encouraged to take part with their children. Justin doesn’t like drawing or coloring, so I didn’t expect to see any masterpiece from him but just wanted him to have fun with the pencils and crayons.

img_0714.jpg

The theme of the drawing was bird, and parents were to guide their kids on how to draw birds or anything that fly. It could be illogical, as long as the kids were using their creativity and imagination. I talked to Justin about our trips to bird parks and the first thing he remembered was the parrots. Then, he said, “I dunno how to draw woh….how to draw bird mummy?” Seriously, I didn’t know how to answer him as I didn’t want to help him with the drawing but just giving guidance and ideas. I told him to joins some circles, ovals, rectangles and straight lines together, and it turned out to be….something like a bird. LOL! He drew a few ovals as eggs, colored here and there, and voil! Habis, finished, and done.

We brought Isabelle along, and she was having fun with some scribblings too.

There was a talk after the drawing session, but hubby and I took Isabelle to Coffee Bean.

I didn’t want to waste time listening to the talks because the classroom was hot until I felt like having a migraine. Besides that, I won’t enroll Justin into the art program as we won’t be here for too long.

When we picked up Justin after the school session ended, I asked him if he likes art. He said no, no drawing, no coloring because “I don’t like”. So, no point forcing him now, but I will just let him have fun with the color pencils or water colors.

A Hot Night

It’s so hot tonight. I don’t know why, it was raining heavily this afternoon and I thought the night will be cooler. It doesn’t turn out as I expected. My kids only sleep well if the room is cold enough, and they don’t use blankets. That’s their comfort level while hubby and I were hugging onto our blankets tightly in our room!

Sometimes, I think they will be able to adapt well if we move to a colder country. But anyway, most of the houses are equipped with Central heating systems, and even if yours doesn’t have one, you can just get some Boiler servicing companies to give you a quote and you can decide later if a heating system is needed. It seems like the Combi boilers are one of the most popular types that are widely chosen, so if I ever need one, I will ask for more information from these companies.

To me, the air-conditioner is a must in my house. Without it, we might do well during the day as fan is sufficient enough if the house has lots of open windows, but my kids can’t sleep well without air-conditioner if it’s hot at night. That’s why I hate it when there is a power failure, don’t you feel the same?

Sharing Baby Photos

I’m trying to clear up some of my blogs because I am obviously spending more time on knitting other than blogging. It’s tedious to manage multiple blogs now and I might delete some of the blogs. But no matter what, I would like this blog to stay as long as possible, maybe until my kids are older. I might stop posting their photos if they are not comfortable with it. Nonetheless, I may find another way of sharing our precious moments with friends and relatives.

If you don’t have a blog and would still love to share your baby’s photos, you may upload their photos to the Baby Photo Gallery of Gurgle.com. I found a few nice photos there, but the best thing is, if the photo of you baby or toddler is chosen for the month, you will win £200 worth of Mothercare vouchers. Of course, we might not be able to use the vouchers here, but it’s still worth trying out!

Besides, it’s still a good way of sharing your photos and making friends with other parents who might share the same interests as you. But then again, I won’t upload my kids’ photos there. They already have a blog dedicated to them, and it’s more than enough.

This post is brought to you by http://www.gurgle.com/gallery/default.aspx.

Justin’s New Purple Knit Tee

IMG_0559

I know that mummy said I should keep this for Chinese New Year, but I couldn’t resist the temptation of wearing this tee to music class last weekend. It’s so big but I like it. It’s purple, you know? My favorite color! Besides that, that giraffe is cute, even if daddy said the neck is too short. @#$#%@ LOL!

BTW, did I tell you that mummy is going to knit another tee for me? It’s going to be orange this time, and with a horse in the middle. I wanted another purple tee but mummy said cannot woh. Why? Why cannot? Why no purple?

Shopping, Guilty As Charged

I shopped a lot today. A year ago, I wouldn’t feel anything much if I spent so much money in a day as I was used to spending hubby’s money. But I was being financial independent for a while when I made money from blogging, and I loved the feeling of spending my own money. However, it’s impossible for me to make that much now.

If I’m really serious about being financially independent, I should just try to look for a job from an executive recruiting firm. I might be in luck to get a job that pays well and satisfy my hunger in making money for myself. But then again, I’m too used to being a stay-at-home mother, I am so lazy to get up for work everyday! If you are looking for a job, then A.E. Feldman Associates, Inc might be able to help you out.

As for me, I will still find other work-from-home opportunity. Working from home is still the best job that brings both money and flexibility to me.

Justin’s On Boaster Seat Loh!

We wanted to switch Justin to a boaster seat 2 months ago, but he was reluctant. He wanted a purple or yellow boaster seat but we just couldn’t find that color! Nonetheless, we got one for him last week, but on one condition. That boaster seat came with a toy! He wanted a red tractor for some time, but then again, it’s hard to find a red tractor for him. We found a red excavator that comes with sound and movements, so he likes it. I know it sounds like bribery, but that little toy managed to attract Justin to accept his new boaster seat by Graco and all of us are happy about it.

I’m big enough for boaster seat loh!

But we didn’t dump the old Evenflo car seat again. It is given to Isabelle she outgrew her Halford car seat. She likes the Evenflo which is slightly bigger than her old car seat. Of course, we gave her a toy as encouragement too. She loves the blender set and she enjoys playing with it for the past few days.

Yea yea, I got koh koh’s car seat.

So, what am I going to do with Isabelle’s old Halford car seat?

Isabelle: 23 months old

IMG_0508

Gosh, I really think that Isabelle is growing too fast now. I stopped measuring her height and weight but she is definitely getting a lot heavier this month. I will have backache if I carry her for too long, but being my manja little girl, she is still clingy to me at certain time of the day. Other than that, she’s very independent and enjoys the company of Justin or her cousins.

She likes to sing and dance, and some times, I think she looks like me when I was younger. I used to sing and force my brother to dance with me when I was a little girl, and maybe one day she will ask koh koh to take part in her dance as well. LOL! She likes to wear pretty maxi dresses and twirl and spin by holding the sides of the dress. I haven’t caught this action on tape yet, but one day I will ask hubby to tape it. She looks so cute in her dance.

As for speech development, she begins to say some phrases by combining 2 or 3 words. It’s hard to compile a list of words she knows now as she will just copy what we say sometimes. But there are times when she fails to convey her feelings or needs too, and she will be very frustrated about it. I guess most toddlers will go through terrible two, but just different in degree. It will be over one day, once she’s good at talking, it’s easier for me to understand what she’s trying to say.

Just one more thing, she likes to tie her hair, but the front part of her head doesn’t have much hair. I wonder when will she have fringe just like me? :)

Super Bowl Tickets

The only thing I know about American football is their bulky uniform and those players crushing onto each other to beat the other team out. I am totally clueless when it comes to any ball game except golf!

That’s why I’m not excited about watching Super Bowl, but if you like the game, don’t miss the super bowl tickets by sending a text message of  “NFL” to 26220 and you might stand a chance of saving up $500 on a pair of Super Bowl. Of course, this is only applicable to US, and if you are stay in the same county as me, let’s just watch badminton ok? LOL!
