Two Sick Kids

Both Justin and Isabelle have not been feeling well. Last Friday, both of them had mild fever, but they recovered a day after. Then Isabelle started to have running nose and coughing while Justin lost his appetite. He vomited at school today. Sigh…

It’s viral infection, and I know what their paediatrician is going to say about this. I decided to wait for a day or 2 before bring them to the doctor if they are not getting well. Frankly, they are still pretty much the same but Isabelle has a stuffy nose while Justin refuses to take much food. He has upsetting stomach too, so I totally understand why he loses the urge to eat.

I had a bad day because they were really teh to me. Oh well, sick kids are like this huh? I can’t blame them.

I’m still thinking if I should send him to school tomorrow. He skipped school for a day last week due to fever, and he was totally active and jumping around all day long. LOL! I think I will see how he’s doing tomorrow morning. If he’s feeling alright, I will send him to school.

Thunder Storm…

I love rainy days but the thunder storm scares Isabelle. Justin used to be very scared of lightning and thunder too when he’s at her age, but now he will say that, “I’m a big boy now, I no scare of thunder.” :)

But for Isabelle, she will scream for me if it’s a thunder storm. Either hubby or I will have to hold her hands when she’s taking her nap or sleeping at night. If she’s awake, she will hug tightly to me and wants me to carry her around just like a baby koala bear.

When it’s not too windy, I will sit with the kids at the patio to look at the rain. We don’t have patio furniture but just 2 plastic chairs there, so either one of them will be sitting on my lap. They like to look at the rain too providing there’s no thunder or lightning.

Justin has been asking me to buy a pair of rain boots for him but I can’t find one. We bought a purple kiddie umbrella for him from Chatuchak but hubby dropped it. LOL! Besides that, the rain coats are too big for the kids, so I haven’t got any for them. If not, maybe I will let them play in the rain, when it’s only drizzling. Of course, they can’t do this now. Both of them are having running nose, so they better stay away from the rain.

No Sao Muk!

The kids supposed to follow hubby and the rest of his family to the cemetery this morning, but they didn’t go. Both of them had mild fever, running nose and some coughing. I think it’s best for them to rest at home instead of staying in the sun for the whole morning. After all, sao muk is going to be too tiring for them. They have always do this again for the next cheng meng, if we are back for holiday!

Besides that, I don’t feel good about bringing young children to cemetery. But if MIL insists on carrying out the family tradition, that the kids will have to follow. So maybe later they will carry out the family tradition on their own when they are older.

But no matter what, I hope that we won’t get a house anywhere near the cemetery. It’s too creepy. Even if you give me a free unit which is as nice as those Branson property, I won’t stay there. Maybe I’ve been watching too much Ghost Whisperer lately, so I’m kind of kiasi about things I can’t see. :P

Justin and His Homework

28032008835.jpg

Justin gets more homework on Friday but I’m glad that I don’t have to push him too much on his work. He will do his work, but maybe not in one shot. He will split his work between writing and playing for a while, but to me, as long as he completes his work, I’m ok with it. Frankly, I’m so glad that I don’t have to hold his hand and do his work together with him. LOL! He will ask me to show him one or two by holding his hand, then he will do it on his own.

28032008836.jpg

I think he has some of hubby’s characteristics when he’s a boy. Hubby was one of those nerds that would do his work well and make sure that everything was in perfect order. :P Justin likes to do his work well too, and if he doesn’t trace the lines nicely, he will erase it or ask me to do so over and over again until he is satisfied with his writing. :P But there are days when he is just too lazy to be bothered by how “ugly” his work is, so I better don’t erase anything unless I want to handle a difficult boy.

28032008838.jpg

The best thing is, when he’s doing his homework, he will ask me to do mine too. He assumes that blogging is my work. LOL! Sometimes, we will chat with each other while he’s doing his work. I know, he’s not concentrating huh? But well, repeating the same letters and numbers more than 30 times can be pretty boring to a little kid, ok? I consider his homework time as our way of spending quality mommy and son moment. If you are wondering where is little Isabelle, she takes her nap at this hour.

BTW, he wanted me to snap photos of him tracing the number 5 and blog about it. So, here you are, my boy. :)

Why I Got Fatter?

My friends asked me why I gained weight lately, have I been eating too much? LOL! Frankly, I started gaining weight some time in October once I slowed down in blogging. I haven’t stayed up a lot, and even if I do, it’s more like watching movies with hubby. Life is pretty relaxing when I don’t have to chase the money thrill which I was addicted to, but I know that I don’t really need to do so. Hubby is glad that I have finally realized that and I feel much better physically too.

I was really exhausted with blogging last time. Frankly, I was only hanging on with lots of coffee everyday and I looked dreadful. I lost weight too, and I was pretty forgetful. I couldn’t remember things well besides being breathless just by playing with the kids outside. I felt like I was not a perfect mother with my lack of energy. Sometimes, I had chest pain and I was wondering EDTA chelation therapy can rebuild my health!

Thus, once I got back to my old lifestyle, I began to have more rest. Those trips to Bangkok and KL were enjoyable too, and I enjoyed lots of good food. So, in the end, I gained 5kg. However, I’m trying to tone up my body. I don’t mind about the weight but I hate the flabby look. LOL!

Wedding!

Our neighbor got married last week and we were all busy with parties and her wedding dinner. My kids had a good time playing with their cousins and it’s nice to see those distant family members who came back from oversea.

So many people here leh…

Jayden keeps kissing Isabelle. :P

They asked me to bring this baby home. :P

Of course, my kids have to show off their knit wears at special functions like these. LOL! Believe it or not, they like all the knit wears I did for them. Justin even knows how to tell me what kind of design he would like to have now.

Parading my new knit top.

Justin asked for this diamond design in purple and dark blue. :)

In short, we had lots of fun for the past few days.

This wedding dinner is fun!

My neighbor has gone for a family trip but not a honeymoon. LOL! Maybe I should just suggest them to spend some time at those Branson cabins huh? :)

Isabelle: 23 months old

I wanted to update about Isabelle’s monthly progress but I couldn’t do so when the blogs were being migrated. So this month’s update is late again. :P

I had a hair cut

Height: Unknown, it’s not easy to measure her anymore!

Weight: 10kg

Her speech development is amazing. She’s started some simple sentences like “Mei mei wanna sleep now” or “Mommy sleep with mei mei”. She knows how to complain about Justin too, and her favorite one is “Koh koh naughty, mei mei no naughty.” She likes to put “no” in front of other verbs to stress a negative statement, such as “no can” which means cannot or “no touch” which means don’t touch her toys and etc.

Me “Jabel”

I’ve been teaching her to pronounce her name or using “I”, but she still calls herself “mei mei”. Sometimes, she will say “Jatin (Justin) and Jabel (Isabelle)”. Maybe it’s kind of hard to pronounce her own name huh?

Ever since we left her with my parents while hubby and I were away in Bangkok, she’s getting very clingy to me and hubby. During the day, she will ask “Papa leh?” and I will tell her that papa’s at work. Maybe she has the phobia of mommy and daddy not being around, so she’s insecure about it.

Her terrible two tantrum is truly terrible. When things are not going her way, she will bump on the floor and throw a tantrum. I used to comfort her but I felt like it’s making things worse. So, I ignore her cries and kicks until she cools down. It’s working so far as she stops crying faster and will come hugging me and tell me what she wants instead of crying out loud. Frankly, I can feel that my temperature is rising each time she throws a tantrum and by walking away, I can calm myself better. But when she’s not angry, she’s an angel.

I got dimple, can you see?

She’s getting bored with her 2 piece puzzles and that animal puzzle is too simple for her now. She’s more interested in Justin’s old alphabet set, but she can only complete 4 letters randomly. She doesn’t know the name of the letters but just putting them in place by their shapes. She loves repeating the letter “O” over and over again because it’s the easiest!

Playing the alphabet set

She can recite some of the words of the books we read to her regularly. I would normally stop at the last word of a sentence and she will complete it for me. She knows which page to flip if I ask her question about the story or certain object. She won’t read too long, the most I can do with her is 2 books at a time and she will proceed to playing something else.

I’m looking more like mommy loh…

She loves singing too. I still can’t capture her singing “Gao Shan Qing”. She doesn’t sing the whole song but most of the words. She stops once she sees the camera! She loves dancing too, and I managed to catch her dancing without her knowing it. Once she heard hubby say “Dear, you taking a video ah?”, she came for it. Gee…

BTW, her boyfriend came back from UK. LOL! My neighbor matched them up and said that his grandson and Isabelle are a couple. :P

Sip pun loh…

Why Is Gong Gong Leaving Again?

FIL hardly stays at home and he’s still running his business. I wonder if he will ever retire as he seems to enjoy doing whatever he’s doing. Justin asked me a question just now, “Why gong gong have to go back to Bangkok?” Oh well, he works there, so he has to leave.

I wonder how hubby and his brothers got adapted with a father who hardly stayed at home when they were younger. Maybe they were numb to it? Now you understand why we are leaving as a family? I don’t want my grandchildren ask the same question later. :P

I better find some safety cutters and start cutting the papers which are needed for wrapping our stuffs. It’s only 2 months away before we move once our visas are approved.

Travel Around The World

I haven’t been to New York but hopefully I have a chance to go there one day. There are so many places that I wish to go but I wonder if I have the money to travel around the world? Maybe I should just check out the affordable New York Hotel Deals and choose the best hotels within my means. As long as the place is clean and safe, I don’t mind staying there.

Frankly, I don’t know many people who have traveled the world. Not everyone has the money, you know? Even if I do have one day, I wonder if I’m still energetic enough to go from one place to another. But shopping in New York sounds like something I love to do no matter how old I am. :P

Stacking Jenga Blocks

Let’s stack them up.

My kids love to play the stacking game. They are still too young to understand the game of Jenga, so they use the blocks and create a stacking game themselves.

Mei mei, you see? Still standing!

Hubby helps them once the tower is much taller, but what they actually have in mind is this…

Let’s push it down!

See? All the work of stacking up the Jenga blocks is just to see them fall. LOL!
