Ear Inspection

We had a busy morning. Firstly, hubby went to get his international license fixed and after that, we went to the hospital for my ear check up. I don’t feel pain anymore after a week of antibiotic and some nasal spread, but my right ear still can’t hear well. There’s still some pressure inside and the audio test showed that it’s not full recovered. The NET specialist doctor said it takes time to heal but I have to take some precaution since I’m flying next week. So, I better remember well what to do on the plane later.

Anyway, I was given some medicine again, but I won’t take it that much now. I really don’t want to depend much on painkiller for the fear of addiction and ended up in drug rehabilitation. :P But still, I better take some before the plane descending as that’s when the pressure changes a lot.

In short, don’t take flu easily as it might develop into an ear infection, and it’s painful!

Weighing The Clothes…

Hubby helped me to pack up the clothes last night. We were cautious not to exceed the maximum of 30kg load, so we weighed the clothes as we packed. My clothes only weighed 5kg, while his was more than 9kg. The kids’ clothes made up about 11kg and we will see what should we bring to make up the weigh.

I told hubby, “See? Your clothes all so heavy. My all super light weight, I should bring more of mine.” :P

He said, “Ya, yours light, but you have more a lot there already and we still have half of your clothes here in the wardrobe.” Wa lau leh…like I don’t know I have a lot meh? LOL! Actually, I wanted to bring some shoes along, but I will see how should I pack them. The boxes are out, definitely. But the funny thing is, my skincare bag weighed 1kg. Now only I know how heavy they are and they are all in mini small sample size! I have too many of them and I dump all in a bag and bring them around on traveling. I didn’t know how heavy they are until last night. Siao liao, bring so much skincare samples along!

Besides that, both of us weighed ourselves too. Hubby is getting thinner, that’s for sure. I lost another kilo due to the flu bug and ear infection. No need to take Hydroxycut, just ask me to pass my flu virus to you. But let me warn you, having an ear infection is very painful. Still want or not?

Celebrating Isabelle’s 2nd Birthday

Hubby and I have been rather busy lately, but we didn’t forget about Isabelle’s 2nd birthday. We had numerous discussions about whether to hold a birthday party for her or just celebrate among close family members. We just can’t think of where to hold her birthday. She had her full moon and 1st birthday parties at McDonald’s and even if we know that the kids will love to have a party there, but hubby was not keen about the venue. Besides that, both of us are rather exhausted with packing our personal stuffs and hubby’s stocks at his office, we are out of energy to entertain the guests now too tired to hold a party now.

Thus, we decided to have a simple dinner with family members last night at Kizuna Japanese Restaurant since we went there a few times and we like the food. Hubby booked a room days ago and we ordered a cake for Isabelle too. Talking about the cake, it didn’t come easy either. Firstly, I wanted to book a 3D Barbie Doll cake from The Left Shore, but it’s closed for a week. Then, the cake maker next door is too busy to bake a cake for us. We didn’t have many choices left so we settled with Gold Vision cake house, and they used a cheapo China doll instead of the real Martel Barbie! Ok, it’s just a doll, why make a big fuss about it? Besides, both hubby and I boh lak liao. :P

The Doll Cake for Isabelle

Anyway, the dinner was great and all the kids had fun with their favorite sushi and unagi. They even “put on a show” about Goldilocks and The Three Bear and Little Red Riding Hood. Hubby’s been practicing with them for weeks for the performance, but of course, with little Isabelle being one of the characters, you can’t hope much from their plays. LOL!

Thank god we had a room for ourselves for more privacy. If we didn’t have the room, the kids definitely couldn’t put up teh shows with all the indoor and outdoor furniture as well as diners around. Besides that, the kids were too noisy, I think they would be disturbing the diners too. :P

I like my cake.

Justin, Isabelle, Xin Yi and Li Wei

Oh ya, we bought a mini laptop for Isabelle as her present. She’s been fighting with Justin for his toy laptop, so it’s the best gift for her now. Anyway, we are trying our best not to buy too many toys until we settle down in Bangkok. No point moving so many things over!

Besides that, I knitted her a dress. Too bad it’s too big for her, so I’m sending it over to the shop to get it fixed. However, Justin got his orange knit tee with a horse. He has been bugging me to knit one but I only managed to knit the back and the sleeves. I asked the shop to knit the front part because I don’t have time for intrasia and knitting at full speed. Besides that, it looks nicer knitted by professional knitters. LOL!

Koh koh has a new knit tee with a horse leh!

On top of that, Isabelle has the doll as one of her presents too. We took out the doll from the cake and the waitress helped us to wash it. She even wrapped the doll with a tissue paper since it’s naked. LOL! How considerate huh?

My new doll

I put on the clothes for the doll after we got to the car. The cake shop gave us the clothes, and it looks better now.

My doll wears boots woh, I want boots too mommy…

In short, it’s still a bit early for her 2nd birthday, but mommy still want to wish you a happy birthday, my girl. :)

Packing Up

My maid and I have been busy splitting up my kids’ clothes into 2 groups and one of the groups will be brought over to Bangkok soon. Then I wanted to proceed to packing some toys.

I told Isabelle that I might want to give her block puzzles away since she’s not interested in playing them anymore, and there’s no point leaving them here. To my surprise, she said “No, cannot. Mei mei puzzle.” I told her that I’m not giving to a stranger but only to Elizabeth, but she said firmly, “No, no can. Mei mei puzzle, no give.”

Wow! I didn’t expect her to be so obsessed with her toys even when she’s not playing with them anymore. :P The same goes to Justin, I told him to leave some toys for the cousins since they are so close and enjoy playing with each other, but he quickly moved most of his toys from downstairs to our room or kept them in his drawer. Gosh, apa apa also don’t want to give away. Sigh…

So, baby Lizzy, sorry ya? I can’t give second handed toys to you, not yet and not now. Ask your papa to sell a few more term life insurance quotes and use all those commission to buy more toys for you la. :P Actually, Elizabeth also has a lot of toys. LOL!

Huggies® Cleanteam®

I haven’t tried other products from Huggies except the diapers. Both my kids have been using Huggies diapers since they were newborn babies, especially during the day and when we were out. I like the diaper pants too, and it’s not only convenient, it’s economical as comparing to other brands.

If I’m given a chance, I would like to try out the Cleanteam® products by Huggies® too. If you are wondering what the products are, just check out the clip below:

My kids were watching the clips with me just now, and Justin asked, “Why does the flamingo have a toilet body?” LOL! I didn’t know how to answer him, but I surely need those wipes!

With Friends on Sunday

Sorry ya? I’m a bit sick so I hardly update this blog. Besides that, I’m busy packing up some stuffs for Bangkok. See what hubby got for me yesterday…

17042008855.jpg
The China plastic bags

I tell you, when we move the bags to the airport, I will look like one of the following…:

  1. A homeless woman with all her belongings in the bags.
  2. A siao char boh who treats them like hangbags.
  3. A stall owner going to sell the stuffs at pasar malam.
  4. A traveler who can’t afford a nice light weight luggage.
  5. A China doll.

Ugly leh? But these bags are the lightest, biggest and cheapest!!! I only hope that the workers at the airport won’t tear the bags apart and expose all our clothes and shoes there. :P We supposed to send some with international movers, but it’s kind of tight now, so hubby postponed their service to May, after we are back from this trip. To all those parents who are planning for migration, just remember that moving the stuffs is not as easy as you think. Unless you can just dump everything here and buy everything new once you reach there. I would like to do the same too, but it’s too costly!

Ok, I better get back to the title. :P

Last Sunday, we went to a friend’s house and my kids messed up her place. LOL! Wes and hubby play golf sometimes and we have known each other for many years. Their kids are cute and active, just like mine. Check out their blog here.

Ernest plays violin well, and Justin told me that he wants a violin too. He’s too young for violin though, so we will wait another year and see if he’s still interested.

I wanna play the violin!

Can see 4 kids or not?

Having 4 kids at home is not easy. I think they walloped lots of sweets and snacks. :P So, Tannie, next time you bring your kids over to Bangkok and mess up my place. LOL! I will get one of those nice espresso machines and we drink coffee while chit-chatting. Let the men learn up the mess after coming back from golf, ok? LOL!

We went for dinner together, and Roxbury Foodhouse was really empty. The kids had a good time running around and playing among themselves.

We are having fun.

In short, it was a nice Sunday, and we will do it again probably next week. :)

Staying In Bangkok Soon

We are not buying a house in Bangkok but only renting one for the time being. It’s not easy to get a house anywhere in Bangkok, especially for a foreigner. Anyway, I don’t mind staying in a rented house first, but if we really like it, we will see what we can do to buy that unit. It is a bit too small though, and it has only 3 rooms. I prefer something with 5 rooms because my kids are going to have their own bedrooms when they are older, it’s impossible for them to keep on sleeping in with us.

A bigger house will also mean a bigger amount of mortgage loan. I’m not so sure about the interest rates of property there, but I can just estimate the cost with some mortgage calculator if we are buying one. If you are getting a house soon, just hop over to the mortgage calculator at mlcalc.com. You can also put the widget on your site if you blog is related to loan and mortgage. I think most people will like to use it if they are interested to know more about their mortgage loans.

Anyway, I will be staying in the new house once we have cleaned it up and fixed the phone line. I will give myself some time to make it a home.

Meeting New Friends

I used to keep in touch with my friends from school school or ex-colleagues, but over the years, we are meeting up lesser and lesser until I’ve lost contact with some of them. Most of them are married with kids now so I guess we are pretty busy with our new lives. And with us relocating to Bangkok soon, I guess I will be meeting new friends and hopefully I will find some great friends there.

Some people prefer to know new friends online, especially those youngsters and teenagers. They will either join some chat rooms or an online community like 3gb. You can also invite your friends to upload their photo albums for sharing besides reading the blogs from other members and listening to the latest MP3 hits. I’m not so much into the MP3 stuffs, so I won’t join the network now. Anyway, if you are interested, just check out the link.

I’m still pretty old fashioned when it comes to meeting friends. I would prefer to know them in person or at least have private chats with them. Sometimes, you can’t be too sure about how real these people whom you know online, so there’s always a risk. But a lot of my friends meet their soul mates online, so it’s different for everyone. But even if you can’t find anyone special there, you can still listen to the MP3. That doesn’t sound too bad huh?

Sand Picture

I think this is what they call it, a sand picture, but do correct me if I’m wrong. I bought a few set of sand pictures for the children since they like art and craft a lot.

It’s a bit messy, but I will lay out the newspapers for them before they start pouring out the sand. Besides that, my maid doesn’t mind to clean up the mess later, thank god!

We love to do the sand picture.

Let’s get started.

I don’t like them to do it at the shopping malls since Isabelle is a bit too short for the trays. It’s easier for her to do the sand picture at home. I still need to peel out the top part for them and tell them which color to use sometimes. But after a while, they will choose their own colors or mix up the remaining sand. BTW, they spread the sand with their fingers, so I think it’s only suitable for toddlers who won’t put the sand in their mouth or rub their eyes.

Here’s the end results:

Too bad we can’t get the sand in exact colors for Barney and Baby Bob. If not, the pictures will be nicer.

Feeling Better

I’m feeling better today and the pills help a lot. I am a bit skeptical when it comes to taking medicine, but since my ear infection is pretty bad, I can’ do without a dose of antibiotic. Anyway, after I’ve finished the medication, I might buy some health supplement which will be sent over to Bangkok.

I’ve heard about the benefit of kava, and if you are looking for a supplement that will help in reducing stress, maybe you should give it a try. I don’t think my life is stressful at all, or maybe it’s a different story later when we relocate? If it’s too hard to start all over again, then I really need some stress relieve pills. LOL! But judging from my preference, I will just go for shopping and do some yoga to destress myself. It works most of the time.
