We came across some pretty birthday cakes at one of the bakery shops a few weeks ago, and both my kids told me that they wanted to order those cakes on their birthdays. Isabelle preferred the one with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs cake decoration, while Justin chose the one with Mickey Mouse. It would be nice if we can organize a birthday party for them too instead of celebrating their birthdays among ourselves.

I seldom organize parties for my children because I don’t like to do the cleaning up later when the parties are over. Nonetheless, if the party can be held on a weekend getaway or an outdoor picnic, I might give it a serious thought. She will be thrilled to dress up like a princess and have all those pretty princess decor in pink and purple! On the other hand, Justin would prefer a farm party. He likes everything about the farm, and even if he already had a farm birthday cake last year, I think he will still want another one next time.

If you can afford it, just let the party planners plan your party for you. But for an ordinary parent like me, if I would to hold a party, I will do it by myself. Nonetheless, someone will have to clean up the mess for me when the party is over!
