When I saw the banners of Mother’s Day celebration at some shops in Bangkok, I thought that they had forgotten to remove the banners as we normally celebrate Mother’s Day in May. But in Thailand, it’s celebrated on 12th of August which is also the Queen’s birthday. She is regarded as the mother of all Thai people, and thus Thai people celebrate Mother’s Day in August. My kids supposed to join the school concert on this special occasion, but they can’t. Anyway, they made cards for me last week, and I love it.

Justin made a card with our family photo on it. When the teachers were asking for photos, I didn’t ask for the reason, so I was rather surprised to see their gifts. He did collage for the heart, and wrote “I love mom” with some heart shapes at the bottom. I might be the only mother with a message written in English at his school. LOL!

Isabelle made a white flower. Mothers are given white flowers here on Thai Mother’s Day. She helped the teacher to paste the cotton onto the white paper and her teacher helped her with the rest of the work. I think she had lots of fun playing with glue. :)

At first, both of them refused to give me their artwork. They said they belonged to them. But after lots of persuasion, they finally handed me their card and flower, and I was so happy to hold them in my hands. LOL!

I placed the gifts on my office table. They will be there as long as possible.

WMD, they like school, but maybe still can’t understand much. As long as they enjoy going to school, I’m happy about it.
