Working on Saturday

Saturday is a working day for us, but since my kids are coming with us to the office, I can be quite busy today. While I’m typing this, Isabelle is lying on my lap enjoying her bottle of milk and Justin is messing around in our room room. I just can’t wait for them to glue to the DVD later so that I can finish my work faster!

We’ve got a new internet line days ago, and we don’t have to share the other 2 lines with other staffs. Gosh, it’s faster this way! By the way, if you are looking for a high speed internet line, check out the packages offered by Charter. If you subscribe to the line, you will stand a chance of winning a HP Compaq Presario C770US Laptop and get a free Shell gas gift card worth 100 bucks. It sounds like an attraction offer to me! If you are interested about Charter Laptop-a-Day Giveaway, check out the link.

As for me, I better type in lightening speed and finish my job ASAP so that we can leave work early on Saturday. Yippie!

Getting Toys

Since my kids don’t watch TV on weekdays now, they have more time for toys and reading. We have lots of books for them for the time being, and in fact, we bought some Chinese books when we were back for a short break. I think I won’t get books until we go to Kinokuniya at Siam Paragon again.

I’m thinking of getting some of these toys…

  • Lego with lego table, but should I still stick to Lego Duplo??? We have Duplo already and I wonder if Isabelle is ready for smaller Lego blocks.
  • One of those wooden dollhouses by Wonder World, maybe…
  • Play dough? But I hate the mess! I only have an apron that fits Justin’s size and I lost the other one…
  • Jigsaw Puzzles? But Isabelle still enjoys playing with the existing sets, mmm…..
  • A tricycle and a bicycle which my kids have been asking for some time. :P
  • A new kitchen set to replace those which are lost.
  • Golf sets, but I’m still thinking if we should get the real kiddie set as Justin plays with real clubs back home and now they keep breaking the plastic ones. However, we don’t have enough space in the garden now, and I don’t want them to break my neighbors’ windows. :P

Gosh, it’s a long list to go just for toys! Any recommendation? Please don’t ask me to get PSP or Wii ok?

Go Where?

I have to answer tonnes of questions from my kids everyday, and sometimes I feel very annoyed in repeating the same answers. :P However, I can’t stop them from asking me as I want them to be chatterboxes!

Isabelle likes to ask “Go where” all the time, but she hates the answer of “going to school”. Every morning, I have to answer these questions…

Just wake up…

Isabelle: Mommy, go where woh?

Mommy: Go to school. Mommy go to work.

Isabelle: I don’t want to go to school. I want go office.

Mommy: Ok, go to office after school.

Quickly do whatever I’m doing and avoid my little girl from being fussy.

Having breakfast…

Isabelle: Mommy go where woh?

Mommy: *Getting alert* Go for a ride in the car and go to school.

Isabelle:  I don’t want to go to school *wanna cry liao*

Mommy: Ok, eat faster and we see how… :P

In the car…

Isabelle: Mommy, go where woh?

Mommy: Go to school, darling.

Isabelle: *whining* I don’t want to go to school! I want to go office.

Mommy: You go to the office after school. Mommy will pick you up.

Isabelle: Don’t want go to school. Go office. Go office NOW!

Mommy:…..*it’s best to keep quiet*

Isabelle: wa…wah…agh….*crying or screaming*

At school….

Isabelle: Mommy, why go to school? I want go office!

Mommy: It’s ok dear, you go to school first, then later you will go to mommy’s office.

But once she sees her teacher, she will happily wave me goodbye.

Mommy: *Puzzled*

On Saturdays…

Isabelle: Mommy, go where?

Mommy: Go to office.

Isabelle: Not go to school ah?

Mommy: O.o

On Sundays…

Isabelle: Mommy, go where?

Mommy: Go shopping / gai gai / or just anywhere….

Isabelle: Oh, go shopping ah. No go to school ah? No go office ah?

Mommy: LOL!

Aiyo, why wanna repeat the same question when she likes school leh? Manja ah? LOL!

Little Vain Pot

Isabelle likes to use my face cream, body lotion and wear my shoes. I think she’s going to be like me one day. LOL! So vain…

Yesterday, we went grocery shopping at Tesco and she found a pair of glittering slippers, which are too big for her. However, she tried them on and refused to take them off. I kept asking to put them up but she didn’t listen. She walked around in those slippers as if she’s on a fashion parade.

Mommy, I want these…

But the slippers are too big la…summore got heels wan….how to walk???

Thank god she put them up when we were leaving, and didn’t ask me to pay for the shoes! As I was wondering why she picked that slippers….I found this pair on the shoe rack…

My old slippers…

See the resemblance? LOL! I really need to get a new pair of glittering slippers liao…this pair is so worn off. Hahaha…

No TV Policy

I seldom watch TV in Bangkok as I don’t have the time for it. However, I relied a lot on the idiot box to watch over my kids when I was busy. I know it’s bad, ok? But in order to keep them occupied without monkeying around for at least 30 minutes, watching Barney, Tom and Jerry, Barbie, and other cartoons sounded like a good option. :P

However, we have started a No TV Policy during weekdays, so they can only watch TV on Saturdays and Sundays. I’m not sure if I should set the time for their favorite DVDs yet, but we will see how to arrange that this weekend. Justin and Isabelle have not been watching a single program for 5 days, and they are doing well. Surprisingly, I didn’t expect them to behave so well without TV. I thought that they will ask or cry for Tom and Jerry, but they didn’t. They saw me buying some new Mickey Mouse and Disney cartoons yesterday, and they didn’t fuss about it. I said they will have to wait until the weekend, and they cleverly obeyed.

They play and read more these days. Actually, I’m having a slight sore throat after reading load so much to them. LOL! Hubby went for night golf and I handled the kids all by myself last night. They practically wanted me to read more than 8 books, and gosh, some of them are so thick!!! Besides that, they had fun playing and doing some coloring, and we could do so much until bedtime.

Of course, this policy doesn’t apply to hubby and me. LOL! We can only watch the TV after the kids are asleep. Hubby said he missed so many Olympic games, but no choice la, the “No TV Policy” rules.

Do I Need A Tandem Stroller?

We hardly use the strollers when our kids are younger. My hubby said it’s very inconvenient to find the lifts or carry the stroller when the baby wanted to get out of it. He enjoyed carrying them, but I don’t think we can do so frequently now. My kids are getting heavier and carrying them around is hurting my back! Sometimes, hubby will carry both of them by himself while I just do my shopping. LOL!

I wonder if my children are too old for tandem stroller? I found some side-by-side tandem strollers from ShopWiki, and I wonder if they are a good buy. If you are interested to get a stroller online, check out the different prices listed at various webstores here. It’s easier to get a good bargain at ShopWiki.

Anyway, I would prefer to try out the strollers before buying any. I have to consider if they can take the weight of my 2 kids, which are not babies anymore! Furthermore, it has to be lightweight. I can’t carry a heavy stroller by myself when hubby is carrying my children.

Frankly, do I still need one?

Sounded Just Like Us…

Justin is not really naughty, but he can be very difficult sometimes. We scolded and lectured him a lot when we were flying back as he’s running around at the airport and he was very playful. But last night, I decided that I better change the way I talk to him….Why??? He’s sounded just like us when he’s talking to Isabelle!

Mei mei, cannot take my toys. It’s koh koh’s toy. No means no. *He learned this from me.*

Mei mei, I said you go stand at the corner. Go stand at the corner NOW. *He got this from hubby.*

You, come here. Come here (loader). COME HERE!!! (basically shouting!) *From me loh…and hubby too. :P *

Mei mei, why you do like that? I said cannot. Cannot, you understand? *From me…guilty as charged*

If I talk to him like those fluent Mesothelioma lawyer, maybe he will talk like that too huh? So, I better speak to him politely, and control my temper. Same goes to hubby, I guess he better don’t be too strict on Justin. Mmm…both of us have to learn how to speak politely but stern in disciplining our kids.

In Bangkok

After 10 days in Malaysia, we are back to Bangkok now. My kids started school this morning, and thank god, they didn’t cry. LOL! Isabelle had tears in her eyes, but she didn’t cry at all. We didn’t leave them there immediately, but talked to Justin’s English teacher for a while. My kids saw us here, but they didn’t fuss or cry for us. :)

My kids had a lot of fun back in Ipoh where they played and played with their cousins. They could totally ignore me until bedtime. LOL! As for me, I went for my facial, manicure, and pedicure all in a day when I was in Ipoh. I missed my pampering!!! It’s not that I can’t get these beauty services here, but I just don’t have the time for them. As long as my face is not rotting until I need some acne scars cream, I can let go of my usual pampering for a few months. :P

In short, both my kids are glad to be home. To them, the house in Bangkok is their home now. So, they are adapting pretty well after 2 months huh?

Mother’s Day in Thailand

When I saw the banners of Mother’s Day celebration at some shops in Bangkok, I thought that they had forgotten to remove the banners as we normally celebrate Mother’s Day in May. But in Thailand, it’s celebrated on 12th of August which is also the Queen’s birthday. She is regarded as the mother of all Thai people, and thus Thai people celebrate Mother’s Day in August. My kids supposed to join the school concert on this special occasion, but they can’t. Anyway, they made cards for me last week, and I love it.

Justin made a card with our family photo on it. When the teachers were asking for photos, I didn’t ask for the reason, so I was rather surprised to see their gifts. He did collage for the heart, and wrote “I love mom” with some heart shapes at the bottom. I might be the only mother with a message written in English at his school. LOL!

Isabelle made a white flower. Mothers are given white flowers here on Thai Mother’s Day. She helped the teacher to paste the cotton onto the white paper and her teacher helped her with the rest of the work. I think she had lots of fun playing with glue. :)

At first, both of them refused to give me their artwork. They said they belonged to them. But after lots of persuasion, they finally handed me their card and flower, and I was so happy to hold them in my hands. LOL!

I placed the gifts on my office table. They will be there as long as possible.

Meeting with Friends in Ipoh

I used to hang out with Lovely Mummy and Mummy in Vain when we stayed in Ipoh, we can really chit chat, makan and shop in a gang. Last Sunday, we met again at Starbucks, and our kids (except Marcus) almost turned the place upside down. LOL!

IMG_5916 by you.
It’s hard to get a photo together!!! But ladies, at least u two look nice in this one, ok? LOL!

My two friends look great in their new hairstyle. Wait ya? I’m keeping my hair now and maybe next year I will perm mine too. LOL! Except Marcus, who’s more obedient, our kids were so noisy playing among themselves. I think my house will explode with their noises and laughters when the 2 families visit us in Bangkok!

We discussed about their agenda in Bangkok. All of us might be able to squeeze in my car, but we don’t have a driver! Hubby is quite reluctant to be away from work from Monday to Friday, and I can truly understand that. We have just started a new business, so things can be rather busy.

So, if hubby can’t join, I might not be joining them too because I can’t handle my kids alone in places like Safari World or Dream World. Can die wan la…

Anyway, let’s see how. Can easily get taxi but it’s not going to be fun if we can’t join their families on this trip. So, let’s see how hubby’s work schedule is arranged when we go back to Bangkok.
