Over the Weekend and Yesterday

We went shopping for toys for the kids again, but this time, we shopped at Future Park. There was a toy fair and most toys are pretty cheap. Actually, my kids didn’t choose a lot of toys, in fact it’s hubby and I who asked them to pick something. :P I think they are satisfied with what they have at the moment, and until then, maybe we should stop buying toys. But the best part is, Justin managed to snap photos with Power Rangers and a zebra mascot.

As usual, the kids will go for kiddie ride and the indoor playground for a while before we called it a day.

Sunday was not packed with activity too as it’s a rainy day. But yesterday, we picked up Mummy in vain and her hubby, and Lovely mummy‘s family from the airport. Too bad Mummy in vain’s children can’t come along, and if you follow her blog, you will know why.

The one and only random photo of my guests, I was so busy attending to Isabelle, I couldn’t snap much yesterday.

We changed our agenda from going donut making to shopping at Platinum Fashion Mall. LOL! Frankly, it was a disaster yesterday. Isabelle was extremely difficult and grumpy, and so did Marcus. Both of them were tired, and we had 2 terrible twos with us! My friends asked me to follow them to Safari World today, but I decided not to. Hubby won’t be coming along and I don’t want to stress myself handling 2 kids on my own. My friends offered to help, but I don’t think my kids will follow the aunties and uncles especially when they are tired and sleepy. Besides that, it’s so tiring and challenging if Isabelle throws a tantrum. Without hubby’s help, I doubt if we should go outing on our own…

As for tomorrow, they will go to Dreamworld. I’m still thinking if I should bring my kids as they haven’t been there. Hubby won’t be coming, again. Actually, hubby won’t be joining in anything except dinners at night. That’s how busy he is!

So, to all the friends and relatives back home, if you plan to visit us and go gai gai, can do this during the weekends or not? :P

Know Your Limit

I was catching up with my favorite program called Queeny the other day, and it’s about credit card spending of some actresses. Most of them shop a lot, so it’s not surprising that they spend a lot on credit cards. But there was on artist who is in debt right now because she too cash advance from her credit card and used it on slots! She was winning, but then she lost her money. She thought that she could win it back when she’s out of cash, so she took that drastic step of borrowing money for gambling.

I don’t think she’s doing the right thing, and even if I won’t say much if my friends like to try their lucks on online casino or going for a few rounds at Genting, I think as long as you know your limit and not being addicted, it’s alright to spend some money spinning the roulette. But then, if you don’t have the money for it, please don’t step your foot into any casinos.

But if you have the money and if you know your boundary, it’s alright to have some fun. Too bad I am too stingy to spend money on betting. I still prefer shopping over anything. LOL!

No Internet in Ipoh

We planned to fly back next month to renew our visas, and it’s going to be short trip back home again. Everything has to be done in a rush and hopefully we can meet some friends and relatives for catching too. Frankly, I don’t feel like staying in Ipoh for too long as my internet connection had been canceled. In fact, my Maxis was canceled too so I can’t go online at home anymore. I will be insane if I’m totally cut off for more than 3 days with connection. It’s not for blogging alone, but being online is already a part of my life for so long. I can’t go to Starbucks either as the maid has no longer taken care of my kids. Thus, I will have to stay at home for them.

Thank god I’m not going for any online university degree. How can one study without a stable internet connection?

I really hope to be back here as soon as possible so that I can use the internet again!

Bento Store

Hubby said that since I’m so into bento-ing lately, why don’t I sell some bento tools. I can easily get the gadgets from Daiso or Sanrio, but I don’t think mothers in Malaysia are willing to pay for the shipping fees. It’s close to USD10 for a shipment, if I’m not mistaken. Besides that, there are so many mothers selling the similar stuffs already, so I don’t think I have any market share. LOL!

Setting up a business is not that hard, but how to maintain it and make a projected profit is another thing. You can just set up an auto shop if you get auto parts franchises but after spending a fortune of starting up, who knows when will you get back your investment, considering this market recession? Of course, I know that it’s not costly to set up a webstore, but I don’t want to do anything that doesn’t come with a return.

Better spend my time knitting or thinking of what to pack for the next day. LOL!

Now You See It Now You Don’t

Both hubby and I have double eyelids, but mine is hidden inside and less obvious. I always hope that my kids will have hubby’s eyes so that they are bigger with longer lashes. Too bad, my gene is stronger for their eye area and they had inner eyelids when they were babies, and slowly change as they are growing up. Justin has double eyelid now, but Isabelle only has it on her left eye, most of the time. The right eye has double eyelid only when she’s really sleepy.

The cheeky girl. Can see that her right eye has single eyelid right?

Taken last night at Hot Pot Buffet. She’s sleepy but still ate a lot.

Hubby and I are always excited when we see her right eye with that double eyelid. We will joke about how long will it last. How funny huh? Once she gets up from a good night sleep, it’s back to normal. I wonder if the double eyelid will ever be permanent…soon…

Fashion Disaster

I did mention that it’s almost stress free to get the kids dressed up for kids lately since they can wear whatever they want. Both Justin and Isabelle choose their own clothes now and they put on by themselves, and will only call for help if they need one. If I insist on putting on for Isabelle, she will take it off and put on once again by herself!

That’s a nice combination, good choice kids.

The thing is, it’s fashion disaster when Isabelle picks the wrong clothes. It’s easier for Justin as you can’t do much with tees and pants. But for our little girl, it’s hard to see how a lovely dress can pair up with a purple trousers and top up with a denim jacket.

This morning, she wanted to put on a disco long top (it’s black with shimmering details, really like disco lights), a pair of panties (which the top can’t fully cover because of it’s see through material at the bottom), and a pink cardigan. I tell you, it’s a disaster. I didn’t snap photo as I was busy coaxing her to change but she wouldn’t listen. Hubby did the same thing while he’s busy moving our laptop bags to the car, but she was still whining and trying to put on the cardigan. I got mad and scolded her because she wouldn’t let me help her nor change into something else. Sigh…

In the end, she gave up and changed into another dress. At least she looks better this time with her bottom fully covered! I joked to hubby that what if our little gal ends up like a punk or has shocking fashion sense? Should we just let her wear anything she wants to school? She wanted to wear pajamas to school one day you know? LOL!

Bento Blog

Ya, I’m into bento-ing too. It’s fun, it’s satisfying and it’s interesting. Actually, I blog about my children’s bentos at my mothering blog, which was meant for my breastfeeding journey. Since I’m no longer a moo, the blog has a new niche. :) Maybe I should find a new template for it, but I’m too lazy la… :P

Sorry ya Jacss? I have too many blogs and they are confusing. LOL!

BTW, to all bento mommies, if you are looking for more ideas on how to decor your bento, check out this post about my bento resources. We can’t prepare cute little food everyday, but it’s still fun to look at how amazing the charaben bentos are. Check it out ya?

Wordless Wednesday: Our Favorite Toys…at the moment

Daydreaming…of Vacation

I know that we won’t be going anyway except travel around Bangkok or fly back to Malaysia for the next couple of months, but I still enjoy teasing hubby about our honeymoon. Previously, we made a promise that we will go on a trip together, without the kids, even just for a few days. I will be in cloud nine if he agrees on a romantic trip abroad, but judging from the current recession and our new business, it’s impossible for us to have a nice trip like this.

Thus, I can only daydream at the office that I’m somehow sunbathing on a nice beach in Key West.

smathers-beach.jpg

The beaches in Key West Florida seem to be very nice! From link above, I found out that the nightlife is Key West is pretty interesting. Hubby and I can hardly go out at night because no one helps us to watch the kids. I would love to spend a night drinking and dancing with him once again, like we used to do.

Too bad that Key West is so far away from here, so the flight tickets will be extremely expensive. That doesn’t include the accommodation and my shopping expenses yet! So, I better stop daydreaming and get back to my paperwork. *blek*

Dolphin Eco Tours

My kids love dolphins. They watched a dolphin show once at Safari World, and since then, they are fascinated with dolphins. If there is a chance, I hope that we can join one of those dolphin eco tours in Key West. Seeing the dolphins in captivity is different than interacting with the wild dolphins. That’s how I feel.

If you are interested to know more about how can you interact with wild dolphins, which are generally curious about humans, check out the details offered by Key West Vacation. The tours include snorkeling in the sea where you can enjoy the wonder of colorful tropical fish and coral reef. I would love to go for snorkeling again because it’s been years since my last trip! However, I hope that there will not be any tiny jellyfish as I was strung by them in Pulau Paya!

By the way, the trips offered Key West FL are quite personal if you don’t want to join in a big group of strangers. You can easily organize a family trip as long as it doesn’t exceed six persons in a group. I would prefer to have a smaller group too, if possible.

For the time being, it’s impossible for us to go to Key West. But then, we can always organize a snorkeling trip around Thailand when my kids are ready for one. They are way to young to swim in the sea!
