Tie My Hair, Mommy

I want Isabelle to have long hair because her hair is very soft and fine. Besides that, she doesn’t have a lot of hair, cutting them off will make her head looks big!

But the thing is, she only lets me tie her hair to school. For the weekends, she wants to put her hair down. She will run away once I’ve combed her hair and she will scream “Don’t want to tie hair.” I don’t know why, maybe she thinks she looks nicer with her hair untied?

Like most mothers with daughters, I love to collect a lot of hair bands and clips for her. Every time I tie her hair, I will ask her to pick one as accessories. Sometimes she will, but at other times, she said don’t put anything on her hair. Maybe her hair is really too fine and less, she don’t feel comfortable with the clip or head band on her head.

But then, how to resist not having these nice hair clips from LittleToez.com? They are Amélie B Handmade hair accessories, and I’ve always had a soft spot for handmade products. I think these clips will look very pretty on Isabelle, when she’s wearing her princess dresses.

Thus, I will slowly “influence” her into loving hair accessories. She’s always known as a vain pot, so maybe she will love to have pretty hair clips on her hair one day. In the mean time, mommy will keep on collecting as many hair clips as possible. LOL!

Trust and Faith

I trust my kids a lot, but I also try my best to gather as much information from others as possible, when it comes to those complains about them. So far, there are not a lot, and even if they are active and naughty, they have never hurt anyone.

But yesterday, I heard something that made my heart skipped a beat. The workers told SIL that an old lady came to the office on Wednesday evening, claiming that my kids threw 2 pebbles, about the size of a ping pong ball, down from 4th floor, and hurt a kid. I tell you, my head was spinning when I heard the word “hurt”. SIL said it’s nothing serious, but just like a bump. But I feel that since it’s an injury and my kids should go and apologize to the parents.

So, when they were back from school yesterday, I asked them if they threw the stones out from the balcony, they said no. But then, after more questioning, Justin said mei mei did fall and the stones went off the roof. There is a roof top at the balcony, so the pebbles might roll off.  But ah poh said she saw my kids throwing stones, and I took a peep at the balcony, it’s quite hard to see my kids as the roofs are blocking the view, and so are the blinds.

Then, I asked my maid again, who’s staying near this ah poh. She said, no one really get hurt, just that the pebbles dropped from the top. See? Which version should I listen to? But no matter what, I did scold and lecture my kids and THREATEN to send them to the police if they ever hurt anyone. No play play. Getting someone injured is no joke. Maybe I had gone overboard with my lecturing, when my kids were eating their bentos. After that, they dared not step their feet at the balcony. LOL!

Hubby seemed to have a lot of trust and faith in our kids, he didn’t want to go to the back lane and find out more about this. So, I have to rest this issue aside, but be the nagging old mother hen who keeps repeating that it’s EXTREMELY dangerous to throw anything from the balcony, even if it’s just some travel towels!!!

I hope that both of them keep this in mind.

Helping Mommy

Isabelle loves masak masak. She has a lot of cooking toys, and she’s always “busy” at her “kitchen”, fixing meals for us and asking us to pretend to eat her food. I don’t let her go into the kitchen when I’m cooking, so she can only pretend playing with her toys. But last night, I let her play with my bento tools.

She was very happy with it, and in fact, she did a few nice stars with the mini cutters. I am still looking for those tiny flower cutters, so if they can be found, she will have more cutters to play with. It’s a bit hard for her to use the bigger cutters now, maybe she doesn’t know how to press down hard yet.

Justin can do a better job with cutters, but he’s more interested to play with my punchers and tweezers. I will try to find a smaller tweezers for him, if possible. So, it’s time to go to Daiso again. Yippie!

Oh ya, taking about helping mommy, I’ve bought a pack of bread premix for some time but still haven’t used it! Besides that, can I make bread without a bread maker? The kids will surely have a lot of fun making their own buns, but at the same time, I’m afraid that it’s going to be a baking disaster at home. But never mind, I will get hubby to help out with the mess. He’s the one in charged of washing the dishes at home. Too bad we don’t have farmhouse sinks, maybe he needs a bigger sink with all the mess and utensils piled up by my kids! LOL!

Get Some Rest

I hate to be sick because even if I’m sick, it’s hard to get a proper rest. But for the coming weeks, I will need some rest. This time, my mom will be here to stay with us for a while, so she will help us with our kids. There is a school break next month, so my parents will be here to visit their grandchildren, and later on, my mom stays back.

With her around, I will go for a minor incision. Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious, I hope. :P But after that, I need to rest for days, and probably can’t do much at home. I don’t need an electric scooter though, but just a few days of bed rest will do.

Mommy Snapping Photos Like Crazy

I’m still playing with my new toy a lot, and most of the time, I snap photos of my kids. Hubby is the easy target when the kids are at school, and when I’m bored at the office. LOL! All his photos are a bit boring, without much facial expression but just looking at his laptop. “Blek*

The best photos are always the kids. Too bad I can’t show Justin’s photo openly anymore, so I can only post Isabelle’s photos.

Her favorite victory pose

I like the way she smiles

These days, she doesn’t smile with the eyes closed anymore…

It’s more like a little girl’s smile, and can you spot her dimple?

Our little girl has grown up a lot…

I still have a lot to learn about the camera, and some times, I have really ugly photos. LOL! These are a few which I dare to share only, even if they are not really that good yet. :P

There is so much to learn, and I still can’t get any photos with my kids running around. All turned out blur. Same to smaller objects like Ferrari parts (not my car ok? LOL) or my bentos. Still can’t get it right….

Doing Homework at the Balcony

Sorry, this pic very blur… :P

SIL set up a table and garden stools at the balcony at the back of our office, and my kids like to do their homework there after school. It’s quite hot and sunny sometimes, but it does not bother them at all. For the time being, both of them can still take their own initiative to do their homework once they have completed their bentos, and some times, hubby and I will be there to help them with their work. Normally, they will only have one to three sheets of homework, and they don’t have a lot of repeated writing.

Isabelle did her Thai writing (they only repeat 4 times for a letter) and later on she colored the picture.

Our little princess does not like us to hold her hand and pencil and guide her. Most of the time, I just ask her to follow me with her finger, without the pencil first and then she will do it by herself. I just let her pass up her work as it is, so don’t expect it to be nice. LOL! If you insist on holding her hand, like what hubby likes to do sometimes, she will erase the work away or give you this look…

Nah, you are so smart, you do for me la.

As for Justin, I only guide him in maths and English, and for Thai, he will ask the clerk or hubby. But actually, I prefer the clerk teaching him.

Justin’s writing some Thai consonants. Don’t ask me, I am totally clueless about them. He normally just has to repeat the same letter for less than 5 times, so the writing homework is much lesser than his previous school in Ipoh.

Hubby is always very harsh when he’s teaching the kids, like he expects them to remember the way to write and sound the Thai letters on the spot. He has not taught children before, so he does not know that it’s not easy for kids to recognize the letters so soon. Of course, there are genius kids la, but I know my kids are just normal. :P

Hubby’s guiding him in his Thai homework and he made Justin cried yesterday!!! Sigh, homework only mah… why so kancheong leh. :P

After the kids have done their homework, they will play by themselves or glue to daddy.

Let us see your phone, papa.

No matter how strict hubby is when he’s teaching the kids, they still prefer him as playmate. Good for mommy la, I can practice more with my new toy. LOL!

So Sleepy

My kids wake up so early lately, and I hardly get enough time to steal some sleep during the weekend. I’m so tired! Previously, I didn’t have to sleep a lot. I think I used to sleep for 4 hours only, when both of them were babies. But as age is catching up with me, I can’t stay “conscious” without my 6 hours beauty sleep. It’s hard to get more sleep during the weekdays, so I thought I might get more on Saturdays and Sundays.

But what do you know? Justin and Isabelle gets up earlier than 6.30am now!!! Without alarm clock!!! Argh…

I hope that someone can sponsor me a trip to all inclusive vacation. I won’t do anything much. I just want to sleep like a baby.

Free Style Friday

My kids love Friday because they can wear anything they want to school on Fridays. There was a time when I saw 15 Batman queuing at the school assembly and one of them was Justin. LOL! The Bat-boys are all dressed in masks and full costumes, so it’s a bit hard to recognize your own kids on the field. Not to mention, there are Superman, Spiderman, and also dunno what Raider among the boys. Justin keeps wearing his Batman suit, which is his favorite costume. There are at least 3 Batman in his class and they all like to do that “fighting” thing which I hate!

For the girls, most of the older girls like Thai tradisional costumes. Some of them like Barbie and Disney Pricesses too. Isabelle keeps wearing the same dress for a month already, and it’s the white Barbie dress I got for her for Chinese New Year. It used to be white, but now it has some food stain and it’s not as pretty as it was. Nonetheless, she still wants to wear it to school and says she’s sui mak mak (very pretty). She goes to school with her handbag on Fridays too, and previously, she used to put on a pair of sunglasses and her hat! See la, so vain yet so young…

Thus, I don’t have to buy a lot of clothes for my kids anymore as most of them are kept in the wardrobe untouched! They have developed their own “sense of fashion” and they know what’s the “in” thing at school better than I do. The school children are like similar custom rubber stamps, they all want to look alike and be part of the gang.

Busy with A New Toy

I’ve finally got my new toy, after thinking and thinking and looking and looking and thinking and thinking for so long…It’s going to take me a while to “understand” this new toy better as currently I’m totally mesmerized and lost with it. LOL!

Once I get the hang of it, I will get myself another micro sd to store the pretty things that come out of it. Right now, there’s nothing yet. LOL! I’m still very very lost with it!

Give Me A Pillow…

Ya, I need a pillow at office now so that I can take a nap. LOL!

My kids still get up at night, and Justin does this at least once every night as he’s trying not to wet his diaper. He’s been diaper dry for days, but we still want him to put it on, just in case. He will wake hubby up to the toilet, and some times, Isabelle gets up as well.

Last night, Justin woke up and insisted that hubby tugged him in. Same went to Isabelle, so I tugged her in again and we went back to sleep. However, she came to me TWICE and asked me to go back to sleep with her, but I still sneaked out.

Hubby was already sleeping soundly in our room, and he didn’t realized this. By the third time, Isabelle came in and walked to daddy, “Papa, you get up and go to sleep in koh koh’s room.”

Funnily, hubby just got up and blur blur walked to the kids room and slept until the morning! LOL! When I asked him in the morning as if he knew what he’s doing, he said he also blur blur why he changed room. LOL! Our little girl played a mind game with the sleepy daddy and got him get out off his bed. Hahaha!

Maybe I should tell hubby to give me more money in his sleep, it might work. LOL! Just kidding la…
