Wordless Wednesday: Enjoy…Being…Pampered…

School Holiday

My kids are having long holiday here, and if I’m not mistaken, the new term only starts in May. So, they are rotting at home, watching some new DVDs we bought yesterday, and probably having a good time snacking on those goodies from Malaysia. My mom is watching them for me for 3 weeks, and they will be totally spoiled by her. LOL!

With extra help at home, I’m very at ease as there is nothing much to do, except simple cooking. But I think my mom will take over the kitchen some time this week because I need to get lots of bed rest soon

So, I better make good use of these few days, doing some simple shopping, checking out some Discount Jewelry on sales, going for facial, and if possible, get myself a nice spa and massage before my op!

Grandparents Are Here

My parents are here, and so is my granny. Our kids are in cloud nine because they are being pampered to the moon, and there are lots of junks and goodies brought here from Malaysia. The first thing they had were Ribena sweets, which they had been craving for for months. After that, it’s more like getting a lot of attentions from the older generations, and I have to admit that grandparents are made to “spoil” the kids. LOL!

One thing my parents “complained” about my place is, it’s too small because I have too many things in the house! All of them are pretty shocked to see the collections of toys and books which belonged to my kids. Thank god I already threw a lot of “rubbish” away, especially those masterpieces done by my kids at school. I don’t think they can be stored at any Art Storage company yet. LOL! But my mom volunteered to rearrange the things for me, during her stay here. I’m really clueless on how to make up more space in the house already!

I haven’t thought of where should I bring my parents around, they are here just to see the kids, and don’t feel like going anywhere. But my kids are having a concert this Sunday, so I guess they will be very happy to see them performing.

After all, I think they will be very happy, as long as they can spend some time with the kids.

Wordless Wednesday: Why Daddy Is A Better Playmate…

Tonnes of Photos

I’ve just bought a portable hard disk weeks ago to store all my photos. I can’t believe that I have a few thousands of photos stored in my laptop, just imagine how many photos I can take in a day, especially after buying my new toy? LOL!

I seldom print the photos, except for photobooks. But then, I think I will print some for my parents back home. Not everyone I know is internet geek and knows how to read my blog online. My parents know that they can read about my kids here, but they don’t go online often. In fact, my dad said he wanted to cancel the boardband at home. *slap head*

So, being the filial daugther *ahem*, I better send them some of our photos taken after we moved to Bangkok. There are thousands of them, but I will a few nice ones printed by eoe online and get them sent to my parents in Penang. There is a promotion of RM0.30 for each 4R print and free delivery for orders above RM35, so let’s see how many photos will I print after I go through my hundreds of folders, sorted by date. Oh boy, this is going to take a lot of my time!

BTW, there are photo competitions too. Check it out and see if your photos are up to it!

From Winter to Summer

Actually, winter in Thailand is pretty short. It’s only like cold breeze and chilly nights, and it’s over after a month or so. Thus, it’s very hot and sunny now. It’s summer to me, without the spring. LOL! SIL said it’s going to be hotter in 2 months, especially during Songkran next month. Argh…I feel like I’m staying in steel buildings now, it’s so hot here.

My kids finally swam in our community pool last Saturday, and it’s their first swim here in 3 months!

The water was too cold in winter, so we didn’t let them swim for so long. Even if they had a few trips to the beach and pools elsewhere, but having a weekly dip in the pool nearby means a lot to them.

Such a happy smile huh?

Catch me papa!

Besides that, hubby not only bought them a swing in the garden, he bought them a bigger tent too. Both kids love their new garden toys a lot!

Their new military tent in the garden.

Finally, they allowed “adults” to be in the tent with them. Maybe their old tent was too small, so they didn’t allow me nor hubby to step in…

Mommy can go in with her new toy liao…

On top of that, it RAINED on Sunday! Finally! I guess it’s the first rain drop in our mooban in 3 months, and my kids quickly got out from their tent, took out their raincoats and umbrellas and played in the rain.

Rain rain don’t go away, come again another day…

My neighbors might think that either my kids or we the parents are crazy….We let them play in the rain. LOL! But then, it’s not really heavy, and the rain stopped in a short while. I think my garden looks better after the rain. :)

Insurance Coverage

I like Bangkok, and we have been here about 10 months now. My kids like their school and they can certainly adapt themselves pretty well in this foreign land which is our home now. Everything seems fine, except our business is still progressing slowly due to the global economy meltdown, which we can’t do much about it. Nonetheless, being an expat is not easy sometimes, especially when it comes to paying more for education or can’t use our insurance policies which we bought back home.

I will be going for an incision, but it’s not too costly since it’s just a simple procedure. Nonetheless, we will have to bear the cost because my insurance won’t cover any medical expenses abroad. I really feel like canceling off our policies and get new ones here, but my insurance agent didn’t let me. Maybe she still wants to earn some bucks from me? :P

Personally, I feel that we need to get another coverage here, but I will let hubby work this out because he’s the one who pays the bills. In my opinion, I think we need to be well insured as a parent because our kids are totally depending on us. I won’t go for a lot of policies, but only those basic ones with sufficient coverage. If you search around, you might find more specific insurance coverage like a Diabetic Life Insurance, which is a life insurance coverage available after you have been diagnosed with diabetes. Some companies won’t provide special insurance once you are diagnosed with any of those 36 critical illnesses. Correct me if I’m wrong, as that’s what I’ve been told. But then, maybe diabetes is not one of those 36 illnesses, so those diabetic patients can still get life insurance coverage? If you are interested to know more this, check out the link.

Anyway, hubby is waiting for the quotes by SIL’s insurance agent. Let’s see how much will the insurance cost!
