Isabelle’s New Haircut

My gal is getting used to her new look. When we brought her to the hair salon, the hairdresser was quite shocked to see her hair. LOL! I tell you, it was quite bad, not only for part on her left, but also the empty patch on the top of her head. It took the hairdresser a few minutes to figure out how to cut her hair, and finally she decided to do a layer cut.

Hence, here’s Isabelle’s new haircut…

I have a new haircut!

I have to “cover” her top by combing her hair side way, and add some hair accessories for the time being. I wonder how long will it take for the top part to grow longer.

Besides that, I’m glad that I’ve won the 2nd prize from LittleToez and the parcel arrived just on time!

She was wearing one of the dresses by Little Toez, and it fits her very well.

The hair clips are lovely, and I love them a lot. Too bad Isabelle lost one of the hair clips last weekend, it must have dropped when she was playing at the playground. Thank god it’s a prize as the hair clip cost as much as a short review on mesothelioma. :P

So, how’s her new look? :)

A Short Update

I know my family back home is eager to see Isabelle’s new hair cut, but give me some time to snap her photos as she’s very reluctant to “stay” still in front of the camera! She said her hair is not nice anymore. :P So, I guess she needs some time to get used to it.

Both kids are doing fine at summer camp and also their art class on Saturdays. At first, I wanted to enroll them to a reading class on Sunday, but hubby took pity on them as they only have one day of rest throughout the week. So, we shall put that extra class aside until they are ready for it. Justin said, “Mommy, why must I go for so many classes?” O.o And Isabelle said,” Me (I) have so many schools (actually, only the normal school and art school). Why everyday also go to school?” O.o

So, I better let them rest on Sundays. It’s very tiring sending both kids around every morning too. Besides that, extra classes are not cheap here in Bangkok, I might as well save up the money for cancun hotels. LOL!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Isabelle!

It’s Isabelle’s birthday today. Unlike other days, she woke up early this morning, and she was not cranky at all. She was doing so well, and in fact, she could not wait to put on her new pink dress I bought for her. She knew that she’s going to have a mini party at school with her friends, and I told her that we would send her the birthday cake at lunch.

So, like any other days, after I bath the kids, they will pick their clothes and dress up by themselves. Isabelle knew what to wear, and after dressing up, she went to the playroom. That’s where the kids go when hubby and I get ourselves ready everyday. Yeap, just like any other normal days…

Then suddenly, I heard hubby “screaming” “Oh sh*t!!! Oh sh*t!!!” So, I thought the kids got hurt and I quickly rushed over. Do you know what happen? Take a look…

Here’s the “crime scene”, untouched!

You guessed right!!! My little princess….cut her hair…by herself….on her BIRTHDAY!!!!! Argh!!!! I almost wanna pengsan…

But then, both hubby and I laughed like h*ll because this is very very hillarious. I always read or heard about other kids cutting their own hair, but I have never thought that it would happen to my kids. And now, it did!!!!

So, how do I look? One part boh liao…

She really cut a lot of her hair, and since she doesn’t have a lot of hair and it looks like one part is gone. She also trimmed off her top part and it’s very short now. You see la, the mommy is so precious about her hair, never cut her hair, except the fringe for 3 years and now my little girl picked up the scissors and cut it off by herself. Sigh…

You might be wondering where she got the scissors huh? It’s the new kiddie scissors hubby wanted to get for her. She started learning how to use a pair of scissors many months ago, but that pair of scissors can only cut paper, but not other stuffs. Then hoh, this daddy said that scissors lousy woh, go get a better one like Justin’s woh…So now this happen loh…Why? It’s because the scissors are kept on the rack in the playroom.

So how? We were late for school and work woh? So how? Pergi sekolah first la…

Isabelle was feeling very uneasy on the way to school. She’s old enough to understand her mistake and I think she’s embarrassed. She kept saying “Don’t tell my teacher. Don’t show teacher my hair” in the car until we reached school. She almost cried when I passed her over to her teacher. I did mention to her teacher, don’t say anything about her hair so that she won’t feel awkward.

By 11am, hubby and I passed the birthday cake and camera to the teacher, she said that Isabelle was doing fine. So, here are the photos taken by her teachers…

I purposely tie the top part to cover the big hole of “emptiness”. :P

Singing birthday song…

Blowing the candle. I wonder if she made a wish like make my hair grow back in a day? :P

From the photos and her smiling face, I think she had a good time at school. And I’m glad that the teachers pretended nothing happened and didn’t ask her about her hair.

So, you know where am I going after finishing this post?

Ya, I think I need to bring our birthday girl to the hair salon. One part gone leh….so let all be gone la… I mean, let’s cut it short!

Lunch at Baiyoke Sky Hotel

Since Isabelle’s birthday is just around the corner, we decided to celebrate her birthday earlier at the international and Japanese buffet restaurant at Baiyoke Sky Hotel.

Yeap, I’m the “star” of the day.

Baiyoke Sky Hotel is the tallest building in Thailand, but of course, it’s not really that tall as comparing to other buildings. :P Nonetheless, hubby wanted to bring the kids here since they haven’t been here before. We spent some time at the observation deck at 77th floor first, before heading to the restaurant at 76th floor.

The kids checking out Bangkok city from the top.

Justin loves the binoculars, but I think he’s not aiming at the right spot due to his height. :P

Hubby gave Isabelle a hand because she’s not tall enough to reach the binoculars.

Oh ya, mommy snapped a lot of photos, as usual…

The buffet restaurant was quite packed with tourists, and most of them are foreigners. My kids spotted a clown who made cute balloons, and they wanted to snap photos with her too.

Isabelle and the clown.

Isabelle’s waiting eagerly for her balloon.

Both kids love the balloons.

Even if it’s buffet, but hubby and I could not eat in peace. :P I think both of us kept accompanying the kids to the washroom, to pick their food and to keep them from wandering around. LOL!

Since it’s my early birthday lunch, I want some orange juice….I want ice-cream….I want jelly….I want all my favorite food! (Luckily, mommy is smart enough to get her some macaroni and soup first before she could eat all those “junks”.)

But then, I found a way of keeping them busy while we could eat…I gave Justin a camera, and Isabelle used hubby’s phone to snap photos.

I was quite surprised to see the photos taken by Justin when I uploaded them. Check out his photos! I swear I never edit anything!

And many more! None of the photos are blur or shaken. Not bad huh? And obviously, the photos were taken as his eye view. LOL! Before he could continue to snap more of the food (which he couldn’t reach anyway), he was asked to keep the camera away because they don’t allow anyone to snap photo of the food served. :P Don’t be surprised if you are asked to keep your camera away at restaurants in Bangkok. You can snap photos of those dining together with you, maybe the food you are having, but not those being served or displayed. But if you look totally like angmoh, maybe there is an exception? :P

After filling up our tummies, we went to the revolving roof deck at 84th floor.

At 84th floor! The view is nice, I bet it’s even nicer at night.

Both kids were a bit uneasy at first, especially when the wind was blowing strongly.

The naughty daddy asked me to snap a photo of the crying Isabelle who’s so scared of the height and wind. :P

On the other hand, Justin was doing well after awhile, and he began “investigating” how the revolving deck works.

Since Isabelle doesn’t like it, we went downstairs just after a round. There is a bar at 83rd floor, and we spent some time enjoying some coffee. Or I should say hubby and I enjoyed some coffee, while Justin complained that there is nothing in the menu for him! LOL!

What are we doing here? We don’t have anything to eat! Let’s go home la…

Actually, the kids were sleepy as it was way past their nap time. So, we left after finishing our coffee.

This place is nice…(she was actually crawling on the carpet between the sofas. I really no eye see…)

In short, it’s a nice afternoon at Baiyoke, and most importantly, both kids enjoyed it a lot.

Funarium: The Biggest Indoor Playground in Bangkok

Hubby and I bring our kids to playground regularly, and most of the time, we will let them spend some time at those indoor playgrounds at shopping malls. It’s the best way for mommy to go shopping in peace, while daddy taking his breathe from taking care of our two active kids. LOL!

I was really surprised to received at email from Simon, whom I assumed is the owner of Funarium, telling me that the biggest indoor play facility has opened in Bangkok. I came across Funarium when I was in Sukhumvit some time ago, but it was still under construction. If it’s not because of this email, I might not even know that it’s launched. So, thanks Simon.

We brought the kids there last Saturday afternoon, and both of them were thrilled as soon as we reached Funarium.

Both kids and adults have to pay a certain amount of admission fee, but actually, there is a time limit for playing in the facility. Nonetheless, everyone was allowed to spend as much time as you’re pleased since Funarium has just launched for a week. I’m not sure when will this “promotion” end, so you better get more information by giving them a call.

The play facility of Funarium.

This is where we spent the whole Saturday afternoon…

You need to put on socks to enter the play area, so bring your own socks or buy at the counter. I would suggest anti-slip socks as the adult socks I bought don’t have anti-slip at the bottom and it’s quite slippery walking in them. Make sure that you bring only anti-slip socks for your children if they are here at Funarium. The children socks sold here are anti-slip, so my kids could run and play around freely.

Hubby and I like to  accompany our kids to play, and I like snapping photos of them, so we followed our kids closely. But if you are really busy to be here with your kids, you need to have at least an adult to accompany your child who’s under 5 years old as the play facility shown above is designed for kids from 5 – 13 years old. I saw a few children accompanied by their maids only, so I guess if you maid can do a good job, it should be fine.

But there is a playground for babies and toddlers too…

Play area for babies and toddlers.

While hubby played with the kids, I spent some time checking out the 1st floor of the facility.

The 1st floor has some rooms for party, parents, and art & crafts.

The parents room.

One of the 4 party rooms.

Besides playing indoor, there is a sand and water play area outside too.

The sandpit

There is a connecting door to get to this side, but I would hope that this door is locked and can only be opened by parents or the helpers here. I actually saw a kid running to the door and try to go out by himself. Thank god his brother was quick to stop him as it was raining heavily later that afternoon. :P

Our kids didn’t play outside at all as they were pretty occupied with…

The slides!

I think Isabelle played with this slide close to 20 times at a go! She just kept running up the “steps” and down with the slide. LOL!

This slide is kind of fast, and it took Justin awhile to have the confidence to play by himself. Hubby was with him initially.

My kids love the trampoline.

Justin loves swinging back and for like Tarzan. LOL!

The ball area is fun for them too.

The kids like to put the balls into the vacuum pipes, and…

watch the balls all falling down when “chute” is full.

The kids love riding on the bikes too.

Not to mention, hubby and I had quite a “great workout” climbing up and down playing with the kids.

I think I almost wanna pengsan walking up and down and…

crawling in the tunnels with Justin. LOL! He really has great stamina.

Luckily hubby is fitter than me and he always enjoys playing with the kids so that I can take a break and snap more photos!

Actually, we had a small break after playing for awhile.

Don’t disturb me, let me finish my ice-cream fast fast then I will go play again!

Just one question, why are most of the popcorns salted here in Bangkok? It’s so hard to find caramel popcorns!

I think we spent close to 4 hours here. In fact, we even had our dinner before leaving Funarium.

Justin said no one TOUCHED his sandwiches and chips.

After hours of playing, both kids had such a good appetite!

Let’s makan first…

The main reason why we decided to have dinner here is, the kids would surely knock out in the car on the way home, and I was right about it! LOL!

If you are interested to know about the location of Funarium, just check out the link. Your kids can also join as members to enjoy the facility, but I won’t do so for my kids. We are not staying in Sukhumvit area, so I don’t think we will come here often. But we will surely bring the kids to Funarium again since they love the place so much.

Just in case you are wondering, no, this post is not a paid review. LOL!

Summer Camp Soon

After more than a month of rotting at home, my kids will be joining their summer camp next week. I should feel very happy that my role as a stay-at-home mother is over, but then I need to readjust myself to get up early once again. It’s time to get back to packing food everything, getting kids ready for summer camp and also rushing out of the house on time because hubby hates to be late!

Actually, their summer camp is just like normal school days, but they have more fun filled activities at school instead of studying. The new term will only start next month, but if they are going for summer camp, they will be more occupied with activities and knowing some friends, other than just gluing to the idiot box at home. Hubby and I have decided that we will go back to no TV policy on weekdays next week, so I will to start being stern with the kids again. They really had too much Tom and Jerry and Power Rangers already!

Besides that, I’m eager to go back to the office and have some “personal time”. I miss shopping, going for facial, and also my pedicure!!! It’s time to go from one department store to another to find something like this Meghan Fabulous dress. Hopefully, summer sales are coming soon.
