State of Emergency in Bangkok Again…

Surprisingly, I’m not surprised that Bangkok is in state of emergency again. It was Pattaya at first, but its state of emergency was lifted on Saturday, and we were there yesterday. I will update about our trip later in another password protected post as there are a lot of photos again. Later on, Bangkok was declared state of emergency due to the red shirt protesters making nonsense in the city. Ya, this time it’s RED.

No matter who’s the prime minister, I think either red or yellow will come out with something to make their country’s image down to the drain. Why are they scaring off the investors? You tell me la!!! Mor*ns only!

Just now, hubby said that he wanted to make a trip to city center to meet his friend from The Philippines tonight. All the time, I don’t say much about him meeting up with friends but this time, I really scolded him gao gao. Chi sin meh? What friend so important than your own life? Siao meh? Even Siam Paragon and 5 Central shopping malls closed today, you see how serious it is or not? My favorite shopping mall is closed leh!!!

There are tankers in city now, and there is no joke about this. In fact, we saw some army near our neighborhood on our way back from Pattaya just now. But ironicly, there were a huge bunch of Thai people on the opposite road spraying water at whoever passing by in celebration of Songkran like the army soldiers were invincible. :P

I don’t know how the Thai people treat this nonsense, but they don’t seem to be bothered by the protesters, as long as we all keep our distance. Last night, I even saw this clip of a red shirt protester lying underneath the tanker, with soldiers holding rifles on the tanker doing nothing. I really wanted to puke. Beh tahan. Why don’t the army do something about this? Sigh…Maybe like some other countries said, Thais are politically immat*red. You know what I mean? :P Sometimes, I do hope that they have I*A here. :P Ok, don’t kick my butt for saying that ya? I know that everyone’s trying to demolish it back home, but I do feel that it’s needed here.

Anyway, we are fine. We will be out of the “city” again tomorrow and spend a day at another resort. Better stay away la. Forget about coming here as the city center is chaotic! Go for Argentina travel la. LOL!

Again, thanks for all the emails and concern. I’m sorry that I couldn’t get online earlier to let everyone know about us. Oh ya, I called my mum too. Thank god she’s back to safe old Penang already!

Edited: There’s a crackdown, and I’m not happy that people got hurt ok? But I think “order” has to be restored.

No Red Nor Yellow

There are a few demonstrations in some places in Bangkok and Pattaya these days, and I wonder if they will stop during a day or two. It’s Songkran festival, and most of us are going on holiday, so it’s not convenient if they block some major roads. Furthermore, we are leaving for Pattaya tomorrow, and I that the crowd will disperse soon.

We canceled our plan to go to the national park as it rains a lot lately, but just make a trip to Nakhon Nayok on Tuesday. It would not be nice staying in the “jungle” in the rain as we can’t do much jungle trek or animal watching at night anyway. That’s why hubby booked a room at my kids’ favorite resort near Pattaya, which is the one with a horse stable. They are very excited to see “their ponies” again!

If you are traveling to Thailand lately, please do not wear anything in red or yellow, unless you are going to show your support for a particular party. You will be asking for trouble, if you are so unfortunate to bump into the wrong supporters. I’m not sure if Massachusetts OUI Lawyer will help you win the case, if you are injured or harmed. :P So, it’s best to be safe than sorry.

So, I’m going to pack carefully for our trips. Just remember, no red nor yellow!

Nice Artwork

I’m really pleased with the kids’ progress at art class. I’m quite surprised to see Isabelle being able to do her work for 2 hours, and she’s not even old enough for the class yet. We let her try the class first and the teacher said she’s alright to join. We are really happy to see both of them enjoy the class very much, and their art works are very nice too. I mean for their age la, and don’t compare with those masterpieces that worth a gold bullion!

I keep all their work in the carton box now, and maybe I should get a big folder to keep them. I shall keep them for as long as we can.

Songkran Holiday

Songkran holiday starts tomorrow. Actually, the first day of Songkran is on next Monday, but most people will flea to leave Bangkok city tonight or tomorrow. Traffic out of Bangkok will most probably be insane, and I’ve tried that before! A 3 hours journey took us 8 hours to reach the destination. You better make sure you have renewed your cheap auto insurance too as road accident rate is higher during holidays. So, I am very kiasi to travel during long public holiday in Thailand.

But then, it’s like a week of holiday, it will be totally bored to stay at home all the time huh? Thus, we will be going to the horse club resort on Sunday, then back home again and then travel to Nakhon Nayok. Hubby canceled Khao Yai National Park as it rains heavily these days, so staying at the national park does not sound like a good idea. Other than that, we have no place to go!!!

Aiya, I’m going to be very very wet for many days. Please just splash water on me and not flour. Please don’t spray water on my face with hose too, my mascara might get into my eyes. Please don’t scare my kids, and only splash water gently on them. Aiyo…

Someone Pop!

One of my online buddies has just given birth and it’s a healthy baby gal! Yippee! Just in case you are wondering, no, it’s not Miche. She’s still yet to pop! LOL!

It’s always nice to hear that there are new babies coming the way, and some times, I wish that I am pregnant too. But it’s just a silly thought. I can’t manage 3 children and I’m definitely not ready for another pregnancy! What I really missed is breastfeeding. I really enjoy the “private” moments of nursing a baby and knowing that every inch and pound she gains are coming from mommy. I am not against bottle feeding though, but personally, I would prefer exclusive breastfeeding. It might not be easy for some mothers, but with knowledge, support and determination, exclusive breastfeeding is that hard.

I guess you might find some useful information from gurgle pregnancy, if you are interested to know more about pregnancy and breastfeeding. But I feel that it’s also great to talk to some experienced mothers and nurses. Sometimes, you just can’t find all the answers from books. :P

Anyway, I know that 2 other mothers are going to give birth soon, and hopefully they will have a smooth delivery. I’m still waiting for the good news, and please let me know as soon as you pop! :)

Options Express

I’m only good at spending money but not making one. Frankly, I am too lazy to learn about investment too, and I don’t think I want to spend my money on investment either. But if you are interested in investment, check out options express for highest return option trades.

For the time being, I would prefer to have my money in the bank, or just use it. LOL! I leave all the money issue to hubby, who brings the bread and butter home. But hubby is not the type who likes investment too, so I guess he won’t find this tool useful.

Counting Down to Isabelle’s Birthday

Isabelle’s birthday is just around the corner, but we haven’t planned anything yet. But I know that she wants a nice princess or Marie the Cat birthday cake, and I already found out where to get it. Other than that, we don’t have a plan! Maybe we will just celebrate her birthday at home, just like hubby wants it. He only likes to have cake cutting among ourselves, weird wan.

If she’s at summer camp on her birthday, then I will bring another cake to school for her. It would be nice if she can have a mini party there.

You Talk What?

I seldom let my kids watch the series or movies we watch because the topics might not be suitable for them. The other day, both of them had afternoon nap in my room and after tugging them in, I spent some time watching a Japanese movie called 勿忘那片天.

It’s about a family who lost a daughter, and how the other family members trying to cope with the lost. It’s a touching movie, but before the movie ended, Isabelle woke up and watched the ending with me. There was a scene where the girl was hit by a bus and it showed that she “flew” to heaven. Something like that la…

Since then, Isabelle keeps asking me, “Why jie jie can fly?”

So, I tried my best to explain to her that she was hit by a bus because she was not being careful by the road. It’s an accident and she died. Thus, she “flew” to heaven. But Isabelle can’t seem to understand this yet, and she replied, “Mommy, you talk what?”

Haha! Both hubby and I laughed as she’s like directly translated “lei kong mak yeh” from Cantonese to English. It’s very hard explaining to her about death, even if she understands why her pet turtle died, she doesn’t understand why this jie jie “can fly to heaven”.

After some time, we heard her talking to Justin…

Isabelle: koh koh, you want to fly or not?

Justin: Cannot fly wan la.

Isabelle: Can, if get hit by the bus, then can fly. Later mei mei fly.

O.o. I tell you, I felt so uneasy hearing that. Thus, we went back to explaining to her about death, the danger on the road, no one can fly, it’s just movie, and bla bla bla.

One lesson learned: Don’t let a kid watch a movie which you can’t explain!

Thus, when hubby and I were watching 入殓师…

We made sure that our kids were fast asleep in another room!

Taking Care of Myself

I’ve always taking my health for granted but my perception changed after my incision. Somehow I think it’s time to take good care of myself for the sake of taking care of my kids. I don’t want to end up with another bed rest with catheter inserted in the near future again! :P Even if I can get some help from my parents, but I think it’s best to take good care of myself.

I haven’t joined any yoga class due to lack of time, but I’ve started swimming with the kids. Justin loves swimming and he goes to the pool a few times a week. So, I will join him for a nice dip in the water, and swim for a while. Too bad our pool here is too small for a lap, if not I would surely want to find out how much I can swim now.

Playground at Restaurants

My kids love playing at playgrounds and they will definitely try them out if they see one. Some Thai restaurants here set up playground for kids to play, but we only let them play after they finish their meals. The only disadvantage is either one of us have to leave the table and watch the kids! I don’t feel good leaving them on their own, especially since the playground might be far away from our table.

The other night, I noticed that Justin was trying to convince a boy to get off the roundabout because he wanted only Isabelle to be on the ride with her. He can really speak Thai now and that boy also conversed with him in Thai. I had no idea what are they talking about but it seemed like they were arguing. :P

In the end, my kids left the roundabout and played with other stuffs. I’m glad to see that they know how to walk away, instead of “starting a fight”. :)
