Newborn Baby Next Door

Due to my language barrier, I hardly talk to most of my neighbors because some of them can’t speak English, and I don’t understand Thai that well. Our next door neighbors are very friendly, and in fact, the old man always come to my garden to take care of the plants (I am lousy with plants ) and mow the lawn. Actually, we only pay him for his mowing service, but he likes to do extra work for us, and for the rest of the neighbors too. In short, he’s a helpful and friendly neighbor!

I didn’t realize how many children he has until my mom was here a month ago. Apparently, my mom talked to him (just imagine one was speaking in Thai and the other one was in English!) and she found out that he has a daughter who’s heavily pregnant. No wonder I saw a pregnant lady some times, but I have never thought that she’s his daughter. Throughout her pregnancy, I have only seen her a few times, and we have never talked. Besides that, she’s not staying with her dad, and I guess she only comes back for visits. If she’s one of my friends, I will surely know more about her due date and all her Pregnancy week by week updates! I just love babies!

This morning, I saw some nappies hanging outside of their house, and it strikes me that she might have given birth and she’s on confinement next door!

So, I better tell my kids not to shout too loud or be too noisy since the baby is staying next door. Even if I love to see newborns with Moro reflex, jerking out with their hands and feet when they are scared, but I don’t want my kids to scare a little baby!
