Prawns and Fish

We went for grilled prawns last night, and our kids were so happy to see the alive-and-kicking fresh prawns. They have always love to see the yummy seafood animals in the fish tanks, and as soon as they are done with their meals, they will go near the fish tanks and stand there watching for hours (if the adults are too busy with their seafood la).

After a while, I noticed that Justin’s holding a plastic bottle in his hands, and I approached the kids and asked what’s inside. Apparently, he was given a prawn, and the stall owner said he can bring it home.

Justin didn’t want to let go of his prawn.

I was quite surprised, but I also worried that the prawn will die sooner than we thought.

Can I bring it home? Can I? Can I?

On the other hand, the kids were very excited to have the prawns, and the stall owner was too friendly to give them away…So what to do? We brought the prawns home loh…

On the way back, we dropped by a shopping mall to get a small aquarium and a fish pump. The kids were given 4 tiny fishes for free too, and they were so happy to have more pets! Ever since their pet turtles died, we haven’t got them any animals, even if they ask for one. I guess fishes are not so hard to be taken care of by little kids huh?

However, one of the prawns died when we reached home, and the kids were quite disappointed. But they “vowed” to take good care of the other prawn and their fishes.

This morning, I found that the other prawn had also KO. Do you know why? It’s because hubby didn’t turn on the pump overnight, so I think that killed the prawn. :P

So, there are 4 fishes left, and the kids are happy with their new pets.
