Disciplining Isabelle Again

I prefer to step away and let hubby handle Isabelle, especially if I’ve reached my patience level. So, when hubby was lecturing her last night, I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped some photos. LOL!

We ate out last night, and all of us went back with full tummies. When the kids asked for their supper (just a slice of sandwich), hubby told them that they had to finish the bread, if not he would not fix them the sandwiches. Thus, both of them agreed. Justin ate his bread in front of the TV while Isabelle was basically HOLDING the bread with her eyes guled on Power Rangers.

Then, she placed the plate on the dining table and said, “I don’t want already.”

Hubby wanted to teach her a lesson about not wasting food so he asked for her hand.

Hubby: Give me your hand.
Isabelle: Why? You want to piak me?

Hubby: Ya, because you said you will finish the bread. Papa told you already, if not hungry, cannot ask for bread. Cannot waste food. Give me your hand.

Isabelle: You want to piak me hard hard?

Hubby: Ya, because you’re wasting food. Give me your hand.

Isabelle: No. Cannot piak my  hand.

She’s trying hard to hold back her tears…

until she could not hold anymore. She only shed a few drops but she didn’t cry.

So, hubby started lecturing her about not wasting food, about African children, about many children starve to death and bla bla bla. And no matter what, Isabelle just hid her hands behind her back. LOL! Very stubborn little girl huh?

In the end, daddy made her promise that she won’t waste food again.

Making a promise.

And of course, daddy had to “pujuk pujuk” our little princess after the long lecture la…

If not she will say, “I don’t love papa already.” LOL!

BTW, I think Isabelle is on a food strike lately. She eats lesser and she has lost interests in most of her favorite food, including wieners! She only takes a bite of fruits for breakfast, after her bottle of milk. She refuses to eat anything until her tea break at school.

So, I shall take a break from fixing her bento. Hubby said let her starve for a few days after school, then maybe she is more keen to have her dinner.

Usually we both try to take a step back too when the other spouse is doing the disciplining. I think its more effective that way.
