Happy New Year!

We have been pretty busy since Christmas day. SIL#1 were here with her kids, so the kids spent a great time together, and totally worn out by the end of each day. They are on the way to the airport now, and the next meet up will be 2 months from now.

Besides spending time with their cousins, we went to BIL’s house warming party too, but it’s slightly different from those we have attended back home. Over here, it’s like a praying ritual, and then a mini buffet. Anyway, all the photos are uploaded in FB, so family members back home, go take a peep. :)

Since we don’t have plan for this week holiday, we shall just stay at home, or think of something else to do. BIL suggested camping, but shoppingmum prefers the shopping mall. :P Let’s see how. If it’s a ski vacation, I will jump on the plane right away. But spending time in the “jungle” counting down to the new year doesn’t seem appealing to a shopaholic like me. Sigh…

Again, let’s see how. Majority wins. :P

Happy New Year to everyone ya!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is not a public holiday in Thailand. Some schools are closed for the holiday, but my kids still have to go to school until tomorrow. There is a Christmas party today, and another activity tomorrow, but not the normal classes anymore. After that, they will have a short break until the new year.

Justin already reminded me that the children have to dress in red or green for today’s Christmas party, and they need to bring some food and drinks. I’d passed their exchange gifts to their teachers the other day and most of the gift boxes had been nicely placed under the Christmas tree. As for party clothes, my kids have already made up their minds. :)

Justin dressed in green, and he’s the kind of kid who follows the teacher’s rule. As for Isabelle, she wanted to dress in pink. *slap head* When hubby asked her to dress in red instead, she said, “Then, how I can be a princess in the party?” LOL!

She matched the handbag, tiara, necklace and shoes on her own. I can see a little shoppingmum in my gal. :P

Anyway, she was the only kid not dressed in red or green at school today, and she’s the only odd one “marching” in the parade with a handbag. How vain huh? LOL!

BTW, I would like to wish everyone …….

Merry Christmas!

And just in case if I don’t update this blog until 2010….

Bye bye 2009 and welcome 2010!!!

Happy New Year everyone!

Another Sunday Spent at Funarium

Sunday is gai gai day, don’t you agree? :)

We went to Funarium yesterday because the kids NEED to play and mommy had a dSLR class with Aaron. It’s just a short briefing, but since both of us have kids, Funarium is a great rendezvous. Hey, adults can play too, and by climbing through all the tunnel chasing after your kids, you might get as much work out as running on elliptical.

Papa brought us to Funarium again! Yippie!

We arrived early, so the kids started playing as soon as we got here.

Bye mommy, I’m going in the tunnel slide.

As soon as Aaron got here, we went to the parents room for the class. So, hubby played with the kids, while Aaron’s kids accompanied by their mommy Emily. Occasionally, my kids came to kacau looking for mommy, and when I said that I can’t join them, Isabelle would give me this look…

Moody… :P

Actually, our kids are very familiar with this place already, so they can basically run and play around wherever they please. The more we visit Funarium, the more FREEDOM hubb and I have. :P Frankly, we can just sit there and relax because the kids can easily make friends with others. They even know how to order their food, by showing their bar code straps, it’s easy peasy for them la….

My class ended by 1pm, and after a quick lunch, I went to join the kids.

My gal’s begging for sweets. She’s very tired of playing, and needed some sweet booster. LOL!

No sweets are sold at Funarium, so they had to settle with jelly and cupcake.

Hubby said they had already taken a heavy lunch!!! But kids, they get hungry easily when they play a lot. Of course, I got busy trying out different setting with my camera after the briefing. Frankly, I got very blur after the class. LOL! I guess I’m not good at photography, as long as I can shoot whatever I need, it’s good enough for me. :P Really low standard…:P

So, what happened next after a food attack? Play again loh….

You’ve just got to try the slide!

Isabelle is soooo into sand play.

Mommy’s snapping through the glass so that she could still enjoy the air-conditioning. :P

While the kids were playing…hubby ZZzz….LOL!

Besides all the regular play, the kids tried something new on Sunday. It’s the first time they tried the roller blades and I’m surprised that Justin picked up rather fast.

Trying to balance himself while holding on to the net.

He refused to let me hold him and wanted to do this on his own.

After 15 minutes or so, he’s confident enough to let go and balance and “walk” in small steps.

Occasionally, he fell…

And got up…

And fell and got up again…

I’d lost count of the number of times he fell, and he rejected my help. He wanted to do this on his own…And about 45 minutes later, our little boy was confidently “gliding” slowly around the track.

Bravo Justin!

He even agreed on mommy leaving the track, but asked me to order him some food. LOL! He said he had no more energy, and he needed to eat. Then, he would come back to practice again.

I love to see my kids eat. :P

But too bad, the roller blades are only allowed for one and a half hour, before the track is open for bicycles again. So, maybe we should come here soon so that Justin can practice more before we get him his roller blades.

As for Isabelle, hubby helped her a lot, but she only tried for 10 minutes or so.

Isabelle didn’t manage to balance herself, so she gave up. :P

So, what did we get after a fun day at Funarium? It’s 2 kids who slept all the way back home…

Justin’s 5th Birthday

Justin turned 5 yesterday, and he’s a “bigger” boy now. :)

He had a mini party with his friend at school, with his Ben 10 cake of course. :) He brought along his camera so that his teachers could help him to snap some photos. He seems very happy even if it’s not a BIG party. LOL!

I thought we would be going out for dinner, but hubby has been very busy lately. So, we went over to FIL’s place. MIL prepared 2 eggs and chicken chop for him. She said birthday boy must have eggs and chicken. LOL! I bought another ice-cream cake with Tigger and Pooh, and he was so happy with it. He couldn’t wait to cut it, but we had to wait for hubby to join us.

Poor papa, he had to rush all the way from the other end of the city to get back in time for his favorite boy. Luckily, he managed to reach FIL’s at about 8.30pm, despite being caught in a very bad traffic jam.

Needless to say, we went straight to singing the birthday song and cake cutting as soon as hubby stepped in the house.

So, Justin, Happy Birthday to You. You are a big boy now, and mommy wish that you will stay strong and healthy and enjoy your life to the fullest. We love you Justin!

Kena Hacked

Yeap! My blogs got hacked, but they are back to normal now (I guess la). Being the techno idiot, I couldn’t do much except SOS my webmaster to gao tim for me. Seriously la, I have wayyyyyyy too many blogs than I need, I should start killing them. LOL! It started with one of my dying blog, and “affected” the rest in the same domain account. :P

Luckily, my webmaster is giving me a big hand in this, and I’m so grateful. Maybe I should get him a nice stay at one of those Toronto hotels for burning the middle oil to scan through all the folders and delete the malicious codes. Thanks a bunch!!!

So, now all my blogs are running in the latest WordPress, and I must say, it’s soooooooooo user friendly.

Wordless Wednesday: Decorating Christmas Tree

Isabelle’s Sick

Isabelle broke her health record of getting sick more than once this year. I thought it’s already December, so if she’s still holding that once a year “sickness”, just like all time. But what do you know? Last night, she climbed in bed with us with lots of fuss and and told us that she wanted to use the loo. So, I “kicked” hubby up loh, he’s stronger to carry her in sleepy mode mah. LOL! After she came back in bed again, I wanted to pat her back to sleep and I realized that she’s very hot. It’s a fever, and it’s 38 deg. So, hubby fed her some med, but that’s the last drop we had in the fridge!

This morning, hubby left work at 6am because he’s been very busy lately. Thus, it’s mommy who’s getting the kids ready for school again, but only Justin would have to go to school. He’s not happy about it and he MADE A SUPER BIG FUSS!!! Just imagine my going-to-be-5-year-old boy giving me lots of “nonsense” reasons that he had to stay at home with mei mei too. He knows that mei mei will watch TV, so he wanted to stay at home as well. But since I said NO, he kept suggesting that I should drop mei mei at school and pass the teacher her medicine so that they can feed mei mei with it. So pandai la him. Too bad, the “experienced” mother knows that the little girl is having some upper respiratory infection, so better don’t send her to school. You know la, once other mothers know that any kid got fever and some cold and cough, they might get very panic one. Later if really have H1N1 case, I’m very sure that I will kena all the arrows.

So, fast forward…I scolded the boy, made him cry, but still forced him to go to school. The drive to school was not a pleasant one as he kept talking nonsense again. Sigh…Anyway, he was alright once we reached school and he kissed me goodbye. See? That’s why he’s my favorite boy. LOL! One minute he can drive me nuts, and the next minute he can melt my heart.

I wanted to get some med on the way home but the pharmacy was not open yet. But then, I came across a shop lot with the “cross” sign, and I went in with Isabelle. Apparently, it’s a small local clinic, something like our clinic daerah back home. The health personnel were very helpful, despite that I can only speak some Thai. And I was right, Isabelle is only having a fever and upper respiratory infection. That explained why she turned down FIL’s birthday cake last night! Hubby and I were puzzled that our eat-all-she-can girl suddenly turned down a piece of ice-cream cake. She might be feeling slightly unwell, but it doesn’t show yet.

Anyway, the total cost of consultation and medicine is only THB250. HOW CHEAP!!! I was quite surprised and relief too as I didn’t bring a lot of cash along. Itu la…emergency mah. LOL! Handbag left in the car and we only stepped in the clinic my small wallet.

I’ll let her take the medicine and see how she’s doing these 2 days. If she’s not recovering well, hubby will bring her to the pediatrician then. I can’t bring her to the pediatrician on my own as I don’t have work permit, and so all the while, it’s hubby who brings the kids to private hospital for check up. The charges for expats can be bl*rdy expensive, so you better have a work permit, then it’s slightly cheaper (even if it’s not the same price as the local Thai some times).

Isabelle, you better recover by tomorrow loh…(fingers crossed). You have an excursion to the city zoo on Thursday, which you have been looking forward to. So rest well and drink more water my girl!

Lazy lazy month…

Let’s just say that mommy is lazy, the kids are lazy but hubby is the only hardworking one at home. :P He helps to clean the house, do the laundry (which is his duty since we moved here), work on his biz and try to make more $$$.

As for me, I have a lazy month of not cooking much lately. MIL is staying in FIL’s place for a month, so we drop by for dinner almost every day. She loves to cook for us, and I love her cooking. However, the kids have started complaining why are we going there soooo often. :P

The thing is, once we are there for dinner, we will chit chit chat chat and spend some time there, and by the time we reach home, it’s almost 9pm. The kids have been missing their play time, and home schooling time for more than a month (mommy was lazy in November too :P ) and thus they are not very happy about it.

My kids are not the brilliant type that REMEMBERS everything after a simple lesson. When I was reading to the kids last night, I found that Justin has forgotten how to “decode” the words with phonic, but he still remembers all the sound la…As for Isabelle, she basically still mixes up most the capital and small letters. LOL!

During the weekends, the kids only want to watch TV, swim, play or go gai gai, so forget about asking them to do any work! Itu la, mommy’s lazy, kids also follow loh… Thank god I’m not kiasu la, if not I might be very panic. :P

Nowadays, the kids are good at saying “Popo, woh ge yi kan dian si mah? ge yi chi ais-cream mah?” (Popo, can I watch TV? Can I eat ice-cream?) and etc. Having popo here is a great opportunity for them to speak some Chinese.

Rest in Peace, Ah Gong…

My grandpa passed away on Wednesday night, and he’s in a better place now. When we were back for the holiday in October, my family already discussed about this that if ah gong passed away, I don’t have to go back again as they are worried of me flying back with the kids. Hubby is pretty busy, as usual, but he was back for 2 days and visited ah gong too.

Over the phone, my parents already told me not to fly back. However, hubby was trying his best to check out the airlines, but too bad, only Thai Airways has ONE ticket this evening, and I haven’t got my re-entry permit. Yesterday was a public holiday, so the immigration office only opens today. Time is pretty tight, and the funeral is in the weekend. FYI, I don’t have multiple entry permit to Thailand. Each time I go out, I got to apply again for re-entering. Besides that, I hardly fly out mah…so hubby thought it’s not necessary for the kids and me.

My family back home understands our situation. Even if we are not back “physically”, we will still be praying for ah gong here. When I told Justin that “ah zhor” passed away already, he actually said, “Died already? Where? I want to go (back) and see (him).” He has a vivid memory of his great-grandfather after spending a month back home, turning ah gong’s place upside down. As for Isabelle, she’s still blur about this. I guess she’s too young to understand about death, unless she sees ah zhor now.

Rest In Peace, Ah Gong. No more suffering and pain from your cancer anymore….

P/S: Thanks for the comments and SMS. I just dun feel like talking much. Thanks again.
