Wordless Wednesday: Some photos taken at Central World…

Father’s Day falls on 5th December in Thailand, and our kids had a mini concert at their school yesterday. Both kids were very excited about it, and with 3 mini concerts per school year, they already well trained to perform well on stage, without any stage fright or what-so-ever. In fact, I really admire the teachers’ dedication and effort in training the kids 3 times a year for the mini concerts. It’s a lot of hard work! Besides preparing the kids, they had to decorate and set up the mini stage on the metal tiles of the school canteen each time. Seriously, I don’t have the patience of being a preschool teacher!
The night before. Justin even asked all of us to sleep in early so that we could get up early and reach school in time.
He’s really one responsible boy. LOL!
Since MIL is here, we invited her to come along.

As usual, the kids are always happy to see their grandparents.
She’s not only here for the kids’ performance, she’s here to see her son giving a speech too. LOL!

Hubby was picked by the teachers as a “good” father. LOL! They said he’s very close to the kids, so they wanted him to share how he helps to take care of the kids at home. I have no idea what his speech is all about, he was speaking in Thai + English, but mostly in Thai. Yeap, he’s very good in Thai now.
Besides dances, the kids presented handmade gifts to their fathers. Like previous years, this was done in Thai ritual.

Justin’s showing respect to daddy and presenting his gift.

Daddy and his gal.
The mini concert ended before noon and by the time we got to the car, both kids were very tired and Zzz….
I would like to wish all fathers in Thailand a very Happy Father’s Day, and happy birthday to the King.
Hubby’s mom is here for a few weeks, so my kids are thrilled to be pampered by popo. Some times, I do pity my kids that they can’t see their grandparents or other family members as frequent as they used to, but then they still manage to get some visits once in a while. With MIL here to cook for us occasionally, I will be temporarily retiring from “chu fan po” especially during the weekdays. Yippie!
Since my oily kitchen is closed for the moment, my housekeeper will only be here once a week. So far so good la, hubby is still helping out in the house.
But if I really beh tahan, I might want her to be back for twice a week after MIL leaves. Hopefully, she will still be able to come by then, but as far as I’ve known, these housekeepers will faster slot in another new house when they have free time. So, fat chance la…
Anyway, the sale. So, it’s time to get something for Justin on his birthday, and get some new books or toys for the kids during Christmas. I’m not sure what to get yet, but I will try my best to be FRUGAL!
Hi there! We are back!!! It’s only 3 days away to Phuket and Similan Islands and it’s toooooo short for us. But then, this is a budget trip so we can’t afford to spend sooooo many days on the pearl of Andaman. Nonetheless, we had a great time, and photos are uploaded in FB already, so go take a peep.
Here’s a summary of our trip:
Day 1:
We reached Phuket at about 1pm and rushed to Ramada Resort. Everyone got changed and rushed for a quick bite at Mcd, before going to Marriott for family photo shooting. Yeap, we had some photos taken by Aaron, and I can’t wait to see them.
Of course, we had some hiccups here, like hubby lost his ring, and then his Crocs (but later found by Aaron). After dinner, everyone called it a day as we were all so tired…
Day 2:
Got up very early to Similan Islands. It’s a national park, so I LOVE IT!!! It’s not as commercial as Phi Phi, and if you really like nature and well preserved islands, go to Similan or Surin. Worth the diamonds $$$ and time spent on boat, I tell you!

Don’t ask me where she learned to pose like this….

Justin’s first snorkeling trip. He’s so happy to see jellyfish, clown fish, coral reefs and other sea creatures.
Day 3:
Spent the day at Karon beach and Ramada Resort only. We didn’t have plan to go for a tour in the town, so the kids spent some time at the Kidz Club.

Justin’s at Karon beach.

Isabelle had a great time at Ramada’s Kidz Club.
In short, it’s a nice trip but 3 days is indeed too short. I would love to go there again and my kids can’t agree more.
Hubby planned to celebrate my birthday at Millennium Hilton last weekend, and all of us had a great time there. Isabelle loves the suite so much, she insisted that we should stay in the room most of the time. LOL!

We basically spent the whole time here, and the kids love the pool and the sand. It’s nice to have SAND in the city!
If you are wondering if I get any pressie from hubby, the answer is NO. I got nothing but a great weekend with my family, and it’s more worthy than a nice handbag. LOL! But of course, a nice gift will complete everything, but judging from my many years with hubby, he can’t get the right gift. He might just buy anything that comes in his eyes, or persuaded by the salesperson. Luckily, so far he didn’t get me truck accessories or any funny thing, if not I really have to piak his head jor…
More photos are shared in FB, and I’m getting very lazy in posting photos here. Really no paid post money no mood to blog that much jor. LOL!
We are already here for the second year, but we haven’t got our local insurances yet. I hope that I can just get any online life insurance easily, but I hate to read about insurance. It’s so bl*rdy confusing.
I really feel that we should cancel off our old premiums, which do not cover our medical here in Thailand. The life term is the only thing that works in the old premium, but for what la, if anything happens, we have to fork out our own money for hospitalization, just like what I had last time. Sendiri punya wang….
Justin is sooooo into Ben 10 lately, and he basically occupies the TV, tuning to Ben 10 for hours on Saturdays. Isabelle makes a lot of noises that she can’t watch Playhouse Disney anymore as kor kor always watches Ben 10. She said Ben 10 and the aliens are scary and it’s all fighting and fighting, so it’s bad. LOL! I love to see her annoying face when she complains about Ben 10. Maybe hubby should check out those plasma tvs on sale and get another TV for his princess so that she can watch some TV too. Poor girl, TV is only allowed in the weekend and she can’t have her chance.
Besides that, Justin wears the Ben 10 Omnitrix to school everyday. He said he feels stronger and can run faster with it. O.o He’s been eying on the toy for months and my mom got it for him. He’s so happy with it, and he always keep it well before going to bed. Hopefully, he’s not going to lose it!
As for his coming birthday, he has requested a Ben 10 cake. Thank god I found a friend who can bake here. I think he will love his cake, since Ben 10 is on it.
Our weekends are all packed this month, and we have just got a nice one last week. We were invited to a food fair by a expat friend here, and the kids had a jolly good time eating and playing with some friends. Photos are up in my Facebook, so if you allowed to view the photos, you can see them there.
Here’s a clip on how happy our little girl was, dancing with her friend.
She maybe too young for clubbing, but she’s a dancing queen in making. LOL! The same goes to my Indonesian friend’s daughter. She can really shake!
Then, last night, we had dinner at another expat’s apartment. Her place is so nice, I wish I have a unit in Sukhumvit. LOL! But these hi-so (high society
) units are very expensive, so I can only dream long long…in my sleep, if I am not awaken up by the alarm clock!
In short, one nice weekend is gone and 2 more to come!!!
Yeap, you got the title right! My little princess decided to give herself another haircut, by herself, after seeing daddy trimming his hair in the bathroom the other day. I got a bad feeling when I overheard her telling hubby that she wanted to cut her hair too, so I kept all the scissors away. But last Saturday, she had cut and paste homework and she did the homework with hubby. Hubby trusted his little princess too much, and just let her keep the scissors on her rack.
When I was busy taking a shower the next morning, our little girl decided to trim her fringe by herself. This time, she got smarter, she cut and threw some of her hair in the dustbin, as quoted by Justin who saw the incident. But I found some hair strands on the floor, some as long as 4 inches!!! But mostly are quite short…
So, are you interested to see her new hairdo? Here it is…

Yeap, there goes 25% of her fringe.
I’m not going to bring her for another hair cut as our photo shooting session in Phuket (not cancun) is just 2 weeks from now. I shall try to tie the back, to cover the unevenness, and comb her fringe to a side to hide that spot.

Cute or not? New fashion…
Hopefully, she can still look good in photos!
I’m looking forward to our trip to Phuket and I’m going to get myself a nice tan this time. We will only be there for the weekend, but I know I will look very roasted after the trip!
I’m still yet to buy Isabelle a new swimsuit, since she’s grown up quite a lot and a new pair of bikini for myself. Maybe I will skip the bikini since I still don’t know how to lose belly fat without exercising.
What to do, lazy la…
