Cycling with Friends

AITblog1

My kids love cycling. Besides our neighborhood, we would bring them cycling at the train park in the city, which has bicycle tracks, and it’s also a nice place for picnic. We did that on previous Sunday, and photos were uploaded in FB.

Last Sunday, we went to a campus where our expat friends live for cycling. My friend’s husband is doing his doctorate here, so we paid them a visit after our lunch date at my place. From the photos, you can tell that I was way behind the kids who cycled so fast! But it’s a safe place for cycling as there are not a lot of cars on the road.

AITblog2

Bikes are the main transport in this campus, and kids cycle to the local international school, which is located in the campus too. I’ve almost enrolled my kids here last time, but then, it’s too far from our place. If I stay here, I would cycle a lot too, and then maybe I don’t have to step on the scales to check my weight that much. :P

The kids love this place a lot, and they asked us to bring them here again soon so that they can play with their friends.

So, Luluk, I’ll go kacau you again. Hopefully…very soon. LOL!

A bit of everything

It’s indeed a bit of everything in this post. I don’t have much time to blog here, except when there is p*id r*view. :P Once in awhile, I still get some blogging work, so that’s the thing that keeps some of my blogs alive. As for the rest, I will slowly kill them off.

Back to the school matters…

Justin is doing well, but he’s very playful. Oh well, he is an active boy, and I do have my headache moments with him. But the teachers said he’s always finished his work first then only he starts to play. As long as he doesn’t drag the other boys along, he’s still manageable.

As for Isabelle, she’s adapting well in her class. She’s way passed the “My friend will hit me if I go to school” phrase, and the teachers are making sure that she sits by them. As for the “bully”, she hurts a few other kids too. Frankly, I don’t think I will talk to the mother, as long as my gal is ok. I heard from the teachers that other parents are complaining as well because their kids were being bitten, poked with pencil, hit, and etc by the same girl. But I will leave it to the teachers. It’s best not to interfere with other people’s kid. Bear in mind that some rich Thai kid can be very spoiled, but it’s not my kid, so I can’t do much about it.

I can only educate my kids to be more careful, and I told Isabelle to SHOUT OUT LOUD if she gets hit. It’s best to get some ATTENTION and help instead of being quiet. :P

Homework wise, the kids are quire independent. I would normally just check their homework, tell them what to do, and they will do on their own while I prepare the dinner

Justin is good at guiding meimei with her Thai writing, so at least they can do some before hubby comes back at night. If hubby’s away for days, I will tell the teacher to coach them with their homework before they come home from school.

As for hubby and I, we are still very busy at work. Luckily, our kids are getting older, so they can do most things by themselves. Hubby even asked me to let them go play with their friends on their own if I’m too busy and rushing for dinner. That’s the thing I’m learning of letting go, but kind of worried. So, I shall prepare one dish dinner some times, thank god for all the recipe blogs on the internet!!! Things can be done pretty fast if I plan the meals ahead.

On the other hand, Justin has started piano lesson and he likes it. So far, he will practice with the keyboard by himself, and we don’t have plan to get him a piano yet. It’s a big investment, but that can be delayed. This house is too small to fit in any piano, so better just forget it first.

Isabelle loves her ballet too, but she’s so playful some times. She does all sort of funny acts when the teacher is not looking. :P Nonetheless, kiddie ballet class should be fun and not too tedious. I will help her with the exercise when she’s older. Gosh, I can’t split my legs anymore!!!! Sipeh old and stiff now.

Besides that, she asked if she can learn drawing. I still can’t find time to slip in this class for her, unless she wants to sacrifice her one and only rest day on Saturdays. I let the kids rot in front of the TV on Saturdays, if they are not tagging along with me to the office. That’s the only rest day they have, so if Isabelle is going for art, then she won’t have any rest day anymore. That’s why I am a bit reluctant. I’ll wait until she’s older and see if she’s still serious about this. No point going for too many classes and lose the fun of just being a kid. I mean, an ordinary carefree kid.

At Home Again

I’m working from home today, and it’s something unexpected. The car just won’t get started, probably due to the battery, so I had have no choice but to stay at home. Luckily, the kids had gone to school in hubby’s car, and it’s just mine giving some problem. Hubby is going outstation today, so I need to grab the car to fetch the kids from school. Sucks…

Anyway, it’s good to stay at home too since I’ve been pretty busy for some time. But I’m not going to sit here all day long. There is laundry to be done, clothes to be hanged, and racks to be tidied up. Sigh…

How I wish I can be a tai tai, counting gold bars and diamonds, instead of doing the house chores? :P

Broken In

Our office was broken into last night. No wonder everyone looked so tensed this morning. The burglars took some PC from the engineering room, and that’s all. They didn’t break into our office, which have more cash checks and cash. :P Thank god the door was locked before the last one leaves the room.

SIL and the staffs tried to view the incident from the surveillance camera, so maybe they have seen the suspects. I didn’t join in because I had some work to settle as soon as I walked in. The policemen came shortly after, and the written report should have done by now.

I’m not sure if our office asset is insured, so I hope that the PCs taken don’t have a lot of R&D drawings and work stored. Die loh, if the engineers lost everything and have to redo all the drawings. Frankly, why steal PCs? It’s not like they can be sold for lots of cash. They should have gone for the company trucks. LOL! Just kidding la. Not that I really hope that it happens, and it better don’t! No any aussie accident cover or car lost insurance is enough for lost in biz if goods can’t be delivered in time.

I guess they will double up the padlocks at all the entrance today, and I better bring back all the important documents and my check book!

I better call hubby and let him know about this. He would be shock to find out that our office is broken into. It’s something least expected, and he is the type of person who’s very optimistic about life and doesn’t believe in anything bad would have happened. *roll eyes* How you know why he can’t care much about the term life insurance quote I’ve passed to him for many months? Don’t even mention about writing wills or funeral plans, he hates that. :P

TV the babysitter

We only have one TV, and it doesn’t belong to me. The kids watch the TV mostly, especially during the weekends. Justin will grab hold of the remote controls, so it’s impossible to watch anything I like because he’s controlling the channels. If I’m such a TV addict, I would have get another TV, subscribe for a second satellite line, or learn more about the transition to digital television.

Frankly, I’m not a big fan of Hong Kong series, I would prefer Japanese, Korean or Taiwan, if it’s good and starred by lots of pretty faces. I feel that Hong Kong stars are not as attractive as those mentioned above, maybe it’s just my personal opinion. :P

On the other hand, hubby watches TV at night while he’s ironing, and he watches mostly golf or sports. It’s way to boring to join him at the idiot box since golf bores me to death. :P

Even if  transition creates more HD channels for direct tv with lots of good shows, I don’t think I will consider another satellite TV now. Seriously, I still prefer to watch series online, at my own time, on my bed, with my laptop. Anyway, check out this fcc article about switch to over the air if you are interested in getting a satellite TV. Most of us have at least one at home.

But one thing I must really agree on, our TV is the best babysitter I have got. The kids will glue tightly to it when they are watching cartoons, and it gives me a peace of mind in the kitchen. What to do? I have only a pair of hands!

Backache

It’s been many moons since my last spa session, so it shows how busy I have been lately. Even if I did have a few Thai massages during our short trips, but it’s not the same as having yourself pampered at the spa. The ambiance is different and I feel more relax after a full spa session.

I’m having a backache now because Isabelle’s been kicking me in her sleep. She wakes up and climbs into my bed, and it’s quite disturbing to me. Oh well, let’s hope that she will really sleep through once she moves to her room. I think her gets up not only due to bad dream, but also her stuffy nose.

I wonder if those memory foam mattress will do wonder to my back? It might be a good idea to get adjustable beds too, if budget permits.

Besides that, maybe I just need to stretch my back more. My body has got so stiff especially since I have stopped yoga for 2 years!

Thai Wedding

I have never attended a Thai wedding here, so hopefully I will get one invitation if any of the staffs are getting married! SIL got married “secretly” so we didn’t attend her wedding. Don’t ask me why, it’s bad to gossip in my blog. :P

But it seems like most modern Thai weddings are about the same as the Chinese wedding back home. I keep getting those brochure from bridal shops when they have fairs or booths set up at the mall. Getting pre-wedding photos done is a must, and some provides wedding planning too. A wedding dinner can be set in a ballroom, or like a “kenduri” in Malay’s wedding.

I heard that some rich Thai even drags the “kenduri” for a few days and nights, and everyone can just eat there for free. Oh well, I’m not sure about this, but the only “kenduri” I knew really lasted 3 days and nights, but it’s not for a wedding. It was set on a ceremony for a 20-year-old young man who’s going to be a monk for a few days or weeks. Oh boy, the feast was not only exaggerated, there was also a stage show with singers who sang from 5am to 12pm!!!! You can’t imagine how I had to go through listening to Thai folks songs for days, from dawn to night.

Ok, let’s hope that my first Thai wedding invitation will be held in a ballroom, instead of the kampung feast!

Sleeping Separately

Isabelle’s nose is getting more sensitive, and she wakes up complaining about nose block some times. There was a night when she complained that she could not breathe, so she slept in separate room with daddy by using a fan instead of the air-conditioning. Me, on the hand, can’t live without air-conditioning, so I slept with Justin in my room. :P

Since then, she prefers to sleep with the fan. She even talks about moving back to her room and just use the fan instead of the air-con. But we haven’t make this changes yet as hubby was away last week on a business trip, and both kids tugged in with me again.

I don’t mind getting a new Sleep number bed if the kids agree on sleeping separately, but I know that hubby is suffering from separation anxiety. Yeap, not me, it’s HIM!

Maybe we should really do this soon, considering that Isabelle had already initiated it. But we have to talk to Justin into moving back to the kids room as well. Then, we have to settle the fan vs air-con issue. LOL! Justin will properly Select Comfort bed and cool room because he sweats in his sleep. So, it’s a tough compromise between the kids, unless they can sleep on their own in 2 separate rooms! That will be a major milestone, which I doubt will come any sooner.

Charger is dying

The charger for my Dell is almost KO. It works some times, but there are times when it decides to hibernate too. I’m not sure where to get a replacement, so I can only pray that it works well so that my work is not interrupted. I’m thinking of getting a Macbook, but then, after checking out the price and adding some features, it’s way out of my budget! On top of that, the Thai keyboard bothers me a lot. So, maybe I can only get one when I get back. :P

Frankly, the colorful Sony VAIO is another option, but I’m so into Apple lately. Blame it on their hi-tech stores that grabs so much of my attention!

Blog is alright now

Yippie! My blog is back to normal! Thanks Bryan.

During my old blogging days, I can’t afford to have the blogs down as all of them were my money making machines. :P I did make a great sum of money previously, as if I own a full time job. Too bad I didn’t use the money to buy gold eagle coins, if not I will be richer! Did you see how much gold price has increased over the years?

Nonetheless, blogging for money is all over for me now. But I’m glad that I didn’t miss the boat!

Right now, only Adsense is more secure, but earning from Adsense is not easy. Don’t ask me about it because my Adsense earning is so lousy. :P
