No Claim

After nagging for a million times, hubby still didn’t get any insurance for us here. Anyway, he will agree that an insurance coverage is handy for what had happened these 2 days. At least every penny spent can be claimed! Oh well, I have lost my patience in telling him to compare term life insurance, hospitalization or personal accident coverage. No point being an old nagger. :P

But I guess the hospital bill is just alright as hubby didn’t say anything. The service was great too, and the nurses are great. Most importantly, our boy is home!

Back at home

We are back at home now. So if you read my Facebook status, you might know what’s going on. Justin’s feeling better now, and he’s walking around in the house. Unlike yesterday when he’s just lying there….motionless….semi-conscious… :(

But now, Isabelle’s slightly feverish. I hope there won’t be another battle for us as I’m dead tired. Forget about the house chores, laundry, dust collecting on the Samsung TV and etc. I shall leave everything until the part time cleaner comes on Thursday or after a good night sleep.

The thing is, will I have a good night sleep tonight? Let’s see…

My Outfits

A friend commented that I look better after moving to Bangkok, and I can’t agree more. Not that I did something on myself even if I’m tempted to try plastic surgery or skin lifting but I’m very kiasi. :P

It’s more about how I dress, I guess. When I was in Ipoh, I wore mostly jeans and blouses. Being a full time cow doesn’t give me much choices to wear a dress or pretty skirt as they are not convenient with kids. Now that the kids are older, I can sort of dress as I please, but cut down on high heels.

When I was working as an engineer, I couldn’t dress well too. I would be in bunny suit all day long, so who cares if you wear a dress or something nice? No one can see it except the time you step into the company and leave work. So why bother la? I didn’t even need to put on foundation as it would stain the face mask, so forget about make up ya?

Those working in the end line will only wear something like a white lab coat, so they can still wear dresses and pretty shoes. For me, my shoes aren’t allowed to step into the production floor! FYI, I was working in a clean room! If you have no idea what a bunny suit looks like, just imagine an astronaut la. LOL! It’s so inconvenient to be worn and taken off,  so I hated to go to the washroom too after walking into the production floor.

BTW, if you want to buy medical scrubs, check out the links ya? Since I don’t need to wear or buy any scrub sets anymore, I can wear anything I like to work. But still, on the days when I need to visit the customers, I will prefer trousers and flats. It’s more convenient that pretty dresses!

Attractive Dog Food

On the way to the airport last 2 weeks, I saw an advertisement board featuring a dog food ad which is totally cool. It’s about the ad, but the dog food! I didn’t know that there are dog snack which looks totally the same as the Polka sticks meant for human. Of course, those dog snacks are meant for dogs, but they look the same as human snacks too.

Then, I found something cute online.

Dental dog chews! OMG, it looks exactly like a pack of snack for kids too. :P I might get one for my dog, if I have one. LOL! Nubz Dental Treats are made in USA, and it’s from real chicken, so it’s a natural diet for dogs. Please don’t feed your dogs human food ok? Dogs can’t eat gluten food please.

I wonder if I can find something like Nylabone Nubz from the local store? I do know that Costco members can get it from their monthly coupon books, and it’s only USD3.50. So, don’t miss it as it’s only valid from 19 Aug to 12 Sept!

The only thing I worry about is will my kids mistaken the pack of as their snack and keen to take a bite? :P

It’s best to show the kids that it’s meant for dogs. Just have to let them know that the dog on the wrapper shows that it’s meant for dogs, especially for Isabelle who can’t really read yet. I kid you not, she might really eat it by mistake!

Vainpot

My gal is as vain as me. She loves handbags, shoes, putting on lotions and dresses nicely with her sense of fashion. I won’t agree with her taste in clothes some times, but I do like her opinion in matching up on her own. As long as it’s not too “outstanding” I will just let her be.

These days, she stopped talking to me about piercing her ears. I guess she knows it’s painful, and she is too scared to try. However she likes wearing rings now, but for her little fingers, it’s hard to get any rings for her! I would try to buy gold since the gem maker can custom the size of the ring, but I feel that she’s too young for one. Who knows la, these days, the economy is so bad, later got robbed wearing gold then how? So, forget about gold ring. Let’s look for something cheap for her, if possible!

Hubby’s Sick

Hubby is down with fever, so we are not going anyway this weekend. Besides the usual classes, we are just rotting at home. :P

Yesterday, I drove him to the hospital since his fever was quite high, and the kids tagged along too. If I have a helper, I would prefer the kids not going to the hospital with us. As much as we can just go to the clinics, but we prefer the private hospital, don’t ask me why. :P

The queue was pretty long, and I even had time to do a simple medical check up for my work permit. After mine was done, hubby was still waiting for his turn!!! The kids were bored and started playing around already. Sigh…

The hospital was quite cold too, not by Hunter fans but the full blast air-con! Poor hubby felt even more sick with the cold. :P

The whole process of seeing the doctor to paying the bills took more than 2 hours. Sipeh long la…

But the good thing is, they gave hubby a jab and his fever subsided after a few hours. That’s good. He has to be fit as I’m having a very busy week starts from tomorrow. Itu la, no matter how sick you are as a parent, if you don’t have any helper, you can’t afford to be sick!

Justin: Going to be 6

Justin weighs 20.5kg now, and hubby thinks he’s too fat. Frankly, he looks fine to me. :P Blame it on the rainy season and the kids hardly play outside lately. Even if they do, it’s only for a while before the usual evening downpour.

So, he watches more TV in the evening, but it’s still under control. I let him eat at the TV some times and I notice that his appetite has increased too. But until now, I still need to feed him the last few mouths!

He learns piano for 3 months already, and I guess he’s alright with it. Some times I still need to nag at him to practice, but occasionally, he will do on his own. I don’t have to ask him to do his homework because he can take the initiative to do so, but for piano, I still got to nag la. :P

The main reason why he will practice on his own is he wants to play UNO, snake and ladder, monopoly or Jenga with us at night. If he’s not done his homework, or piano or his extra Kumon work books, I won’t play with him. :P

I pushed the kids to sleep in their room again, and both of them will use the fan after midnight. It works better for their occasionally coughing. Justin will place all his stuff toys by his side, and he doesn’t allow hubby to sleep on his bed anymore. He feels secure with all his stuff toys, that occupies almost half of his bed. LOL! Nonetheless, Isabelle still needs both of us to tug her in, so we have to be in their room until they knock out. I guess Justin will be able to sleep on his own if he has a room, but for the time being, we only have 3 rooms in this tiny house!!!

And he sleeps through the nights mostly, and hardly wakes up for the loo or has a bad dream. Furthermore, he wakes up easily in the morning, which is great!

He begins to show interests in Chinese, but still hardly speaks. His Chinese teachers said he’s doing fine, and he can write some simple characters. He still has 4 more levels to go in his Chinese tuition, then I’m thinking of transferring him to primary level, separating him from Isabelle. The teacher said Isabelle is slower, and she might be dragging Justin. :P

Thai wise, he’s doing great. I can’t even understand his Thai now when he speaks with his friends. It’s WAYYYY tooo good!!! He speaks like any other Thai kid now. The mommy really needs to blush up FAST!

Things are getting easier with him going to be 6 in 4 months. As long as he’s not fighting with meimei, he’s a very good boy.

When Mommy is Away…

So, how’s things at home when mommy is away? Let’s see…

  • The house is messy, and it’s already expected.
  • Kids had more junks and pizzas, and that’s part of the “plan” too.
  • Kids did well at SIL’s place for 3 days, under the care of her maid while hubby was working and SIL was away in Mebourne. I am not sure what they did at her house, but they were bathed, fed, and well taken care off with the help of TV and a laptop. :P
  • Teachers helped to watch the kids too as I told them I won’t be around to pick them up on time, and hubby might be late. Indeed, he was very late one day in picking up the kids!
  • The school van is reliable. Thank god for that! We arranged for the school transport to send the kids back to SIL’s maid when hubby was too busy. There is a school assistant that goes along with the van driver, and the drivers are all hired by the school, so I feel more secure that way. After the news of a driver r*ping a school girl in M’sia, you really doubt the security of using a transport home!
  • No one stepped into the kitchen nor cleared out the food in the fridge. I came home not only to step on sticky floor and seeing clothes on the sofa, but also to a fridge with some super old leftover (the last meal before I left home) and a rice cooker of mold and acid which was left for almost 9 days.
  • The rack was full of biscuits, cereals and dunno what packed food. Obviously, those were my kids BENTO for school. :P
  • Kids are more attached to daddy. They want daddy to sleep with them even more, and that totally spoils my effort in training the kids to sleep by themselves FOREVER more. :P
  • Justin is very independent, he didn’t miss me much.
  • Isabelle cried for the first few nights, and called me a couple of times a day, complaining that daddy bullied her or korkor scolded her, or daddy bullied korkor and etc. As long as you raise your voice at her, she will complain that she’s being bullied. :P I guess hubby lost his patience over the days when I was not around. LOL!

Overall, I think hubby did a great job. So, is he complaining about the kids? NO. He ENJOYS it.

The House

My house was in a total mess the moment I stepped into it, and as much as I’ve expected it to be messy, I did feel like fainting seeing it in my own eyes. Since I was going to the office, hubby brought home some expensive demo units and placed them on the floor. Then the clothes were piling up on the sofa and he immediately went to fold them when I started nagging. :P The sticky floor really spoiled my mood, I bet that it’s only mopped once in 7 days, which was done by my part time cleaner. In short, I really wanna faint!

But I didn’t have time to clean up the place as the kids wanted to play. Besides that, we arrived home late so it’s way past their bed time. Anyway, the part time cleaner came the next morning and hubby asked me to move all the demo units back to my office. O.o

He’s worried that the cleaner might have misplaced the units, or someone might break into the house and steal them. LOL! Frankly, if anyone really steals them, I doubt they know what the units are. Our neighborhood has Home Security Team, but some times, you can trust them 100%. That’s what my cleaner told me. She will lock my house after she’s done, but hubby said better just put the camera and units in my car when she comes as she might not lock the door when she’s doing the chores.

Oh well, maybe hubby will only have a peaceful mind if we have our own home security system, so he might as well just check out the consumer reports at http://www.broadviewsecurity.com/ and find a suitable one by himself.

Roll Tide!

This is a sponsored guest post.

Author: Joyce Mccall

With a winning record against every current and former SEC conference team, the Alabama Crimson Tide rolls over everyone. The Crimson Tide have one of the most decorated football teams in the history of the NCAA. People like the legendary Bear Bryant coached here. Our past here at Alabama is a proud one, for the most part.

Nick Saban has brought NFL-style leadership and schemes to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We’re sending players like Rolando McClain and Terrence Cody to the NFL every year with high draft picks now that Saban has turned the program back into a winner. With an aggressive 3-4 defensive scheme, and talented linebackers like Dont’a Hightower and Courtney Upshaw, our defense will be leading the Crimson Tide once again. Mark Ingram won the Heisman Trophy last year, and he’ll be the featured tailback on offense once again. I expect the Crimson Tide to be able to contend for a second consecutive national championship this year with ease.

Bryant-Denny Stadium is one of the most beautiful places to catch a game in all of college football. But as the defending national champion, tickets may be even harder to buy this year. I may not be able to catch all the games in person this year, but with my satellite tv packages, I’ll be cheering for the Crimson Tide from the comfort of my home.
