Can’t skip school

I call back home quite often to check on the kids and how hubby is coping. So far so good, and hubby is surviving well. LOL! There is nothing much about Justin as he’s quite independent now, but for Isabelle, she cried for me on the first night and the next morning. She needs me to tug her to sleep mostly, and even if she allows hubby to do it once in a while, but I’m always around at home, and it’s totally different when I’m away.

Of course, she did tell me to come home NOW over the phone, but I told her after a few more days. During the day, she will be just fine but it’s just at night that she starts missing me a lot. We shall see how it goes when the kids go to school on Monday. Hopefully, hubby has got everything arranged and he can leave early to pick them up.

Just in case you are wondering why the kids can’t come back with me, oh well, their passports have already been submitted to the immigration in Bangkok for visa renewal, but mine has to be done here. Theirs are attached under hubby’s employment while mine is under our biz. So, it’s a bit troublesome now but at least the kids won’t have to skip School and follow me around.

If you have gone through this visa application and renewal thingy in Bangkok, you would know that it’s quite time consuming, unless you have someone or agent to help you out! As much as my kids can skip a few days of Private School,  I would prefer them not to go through the hassle like me, and let hubby’s company settle their visas. FUSS FREE!

Frankly, I can’t wait to fly back to BKK too. I miss the kids a lot!

Going Home!

I’ll be flying back tomorrow, and I guess everything has already packed. Frankly, there is nothing much to pack. LOL! But I feel more secure bring home some clothes, just in case I don’t have anything to wear back home.

I have just realized that I have lost my ATM card as well, but if I’m not mistaken, there is not a lot of money left in that account. I can’t check it online anymore after not using it for many moons. :P

Oh well, I don’t think the money in it can afford to get me some gold from United States Gold Bureau, so it should be fine.

C*cat

There we were, arriving early at the local immigration office to extend our visas for another week but what do you know, hubby got the date all wrong and our visas had already expired last 3 days ago! As the result, we were fined and thank god both of us had CASH with us. *blek*

Then, his lovely wife here would have to leave the kingdom latest on 12th unless she wants to be deported home. LOL! So, I’m flying back earlier and will be in Malaysia for a week. Frankly, I think it’s way too long. I will be out of wireless, which is a pain to me, and it’s so bored without having a car. I might have to take a bus to Ipoh too since my mom refuses to send me back. :P However, it should be fine to me and it’s not like I’m moving around with one of those Women walking Canes or carrying a super sized luggage. The kids are not coming along because their passports have already submitted for renewal, and they can’t be out of the kingdom, I supposed.

If it’s possible, I wish to meet up with some friends, shop till I drop and enjoy my kids free break. But then, not having a car is soooooo cacat to me. I really hate to bother my dad, but I can’t sit still at home. Argh!!!!

On top of that, I want to go around to enjoy the good food too, and again, without a car….Sigh….

I better stop complaining about my mom not willing to let my dad drive me around. If not, she might chase me out of her house with Walking Canes. LOL!

Visa Renewal Again

This month is a busy month for all of us. Firstly, we have to go to the immigration office on Monday, with the kids, to extend our expired visas for another 7 days. Then, hubby will apply his visa here in Bangkok and the kids will join under his employment. As for me, I will fly back next Sunday, and fix my visa the following morning.

I hope that my dad won’t mind driving me back to Ipoh after my visa submission as MIL is expecting me, and I need to pack some stuffs. It will only take a couple of hours, I suppose. There won’t be any meeting up with friends as time is really tight. Furthermore, my mom doesn’t seem to be happy with driving me around. :P

That’s the thing I hate about flying home as without a car, I feel so cacat. Very inconvenient to go out and meet with others or do my stuffs. So, now you know why I hardly go for gathering!!!!

Anyway, if everything works out fine, I should get my visa on Tuesday afternoon. If time permits, and if my dad can loan me the car, I hope that I can do some shopping! Really need to get a battery operated lash curler from Sasa!!!! And maybe some shoes? Oh well, that depends on my mom again. LOL!

I’ll fly back to Bangkok on Wednesday, and hopefully, hubby can handle the kids for 3 days on his own. This is the first time I’m away from the kids, and hubby’s taking over ALL THE RESPONSIBILITIES.

I’m not so worried about how he’s gonna feed the kids or if they have after school bentos or what, but my main concern is can he pick them up on time as the teachers leave work at 4.30pm, the latest!!! So, he better work on his schedule and don’t stuck in any traffic jam in the city.

As for this week, the kids will have some performance on Wednesday, in conjunction of Mother’s Day in Thailand, which falls on 12th (Thursday). Then, they will have a long weekend, and I might be working from home again.

Isabelle will perform a dance with some kids, and Justin is going to do his speech. He’s almost ready, but he speaks super fast and so unclear!!! It’s like a speeding bullet train trying to reach the destination ASAP. LOL! Oh well, like I’ve said before, as long as he’s got up there, it’s a big achievement already. :)

Isabelle’s got used to dancing on stage, so I’m not worried about her. She will be just fine. :)

Justin’s Soon to be First Public Speaking

Justin’s was selected to represent the kindergarten students to give a speech in English on Mother’s Day. Thailand celebrates Mother’s Day on 12th August, so it falls on next Thursday this year. We were only informed by his teacher about him giving a speech last Friday, and when I heard about that, I thought, oh well, it’s just a simple speech, he should be fine with it.

But when I got home and saw the text, I was like, “OMG, can my 5-year-old do a speech like this?” There are so many words which he is not familiar with, and the text doesn’t sound like what a typical kindergarten kid would say. Besides that, it’s not easy to get my boy to learn his speech in the weekend as he’s fully occupied with play, games, TV, piano class and our usual gai gai. :P

Anyway, I thought of asking for simpler speech on Monday, but his teacher kept assuring me that Justin can do it. So, ok la…let’s see how.

Surprisingly, our boy can read the text on his own already, but he does pause at words like “significance, sacrifices, affects, presence” and etc. He’s not used to using these words, and I know that he’s trying to break them up and join them by sound. Frankly, I doubt that he understands the meaning for these words at first, but his teacher did explain them to him.

His teacher insisted that Justin would go on stage, in front of all the students from kindergarten up to high school, with teachers and parents, and give the speech without referring to the text. O.o

Besides getting him ready to memorize and recite his speech, my next concern will be stage fright. You know? It’s his first public speaking, and he has not gone on a big stage like this before! Furthermore, his speech is quite tough, even the teachers admit that the speeches given by Year 1 – Year 3 are easier because they will be delivered by Thai students. Justin’s teacher wanted Justin to be “different”. :P

Since the teacher is soooo confident with our boy, ok la, hubby and I should have some faith in him too. I do have my worries that what if he can’t deliver his speech well, will that affect his confidence in public speaking again? But still, we would never know unless we let him try it out.

The last but not least, I just wanna say, Justin, we are very proud of you. No matter how you do next Thursday, just remember that mommy and daddy are very proud of you being chosen to give the speech. Just do your best and we assure you that we will give you a big pressie!!!!

Sleeping Separately…

2 nights ago, Justin woke up in the middle of the night with severe nose bleed. My boy has the tendency of blood flowing down his nose once in a while, and he’s an expert in handling this himself now. Of course, the parents are not as paranoid as before, and know what to do whenever there is a nose bleeding episode. All my bedsheets and pillow cases have blood stain, and it’s quite embarrassing when I send them to the laundry. I know what’s on the laundry man’s mind, but sorry la, you got the wrong idea. :P

Anyway, Justin told us that he has stuffy nose, and blowing hard will only trigger nose bleed. So, he sleeps in the kids room with daddy by using the fan. Why daddy? It’s because the mommy cannot survive without air-conditioning, no matter how cold or chilly during this rainy season. We have extra bed mattresses in both rooms anyway, so the kids can choose where to sleep.

I thought Isabelle would join them, but she sleeps on her own on the queen sized bed in my room. So, I’m so happy to have the king sized bed all to myself. LOL!

I should have just ask the kids to sleep in their room with the fan huh? Maybe I should talk to Isabelle…

You know? When they are younger, they can’t sleep without mommy. But now, both prefers daddy. I guess I can fly home alone soon…for a few days only nia. :P

Gold

My SIL has money luck. She wins lottery very frequently, and that explains why she’s so loaded. :P But of course, she works very hard and she makes a lot of money from her biz too. That’s the reason why she likes to buy gold coins and gold jewelry as keepsake. She has not only got them for herself, but her daughter as well. By now, I think her daughter owns quite a lot of gold!

Actually, buying gold is such a good investment. With its increasing price, our kids will surely benefit a lot from it if we keep some gold for them.
