Body Wrap

Many years ago, I tried a stupid method of losing weight where I put some spicy chili body cream on my flabby post baby body and wrapped myself with cling wrap. I felt hot and sweating, definitely, who won’t be if your skin can’t even breathe? A lot of slimming centers use this method too, but actually, you will be losing water instead of fat this way. Once you drink some water, it comes back again.

I don’t know, maybe it doesn’t work for me. Do click here to find out if it might work for you.

Loose Jor

Do I still need the best diet pills now? I guess not. My jeans are looser now, so I’m very happy about it. LOL! At first I thought I should lose some weight for a beach trip next month, but I guess we won’t be going. So, don’t have to worry about putting on bikini without the big tummy. :P

Why not going? Too lazy to plan. After all these mishaps, my brain is too tired, even it’s just to book a flight ticket and confirm the room. I shall let the pre-paid hotel voucher die.

Give me a holiday please

After such a tough period of time for me, I really feel like going for a holiday. I mean, the type of holiday of my choice, fly to far far away, stay for longer period, and shop till I drop. Too bad it’s not going to happen. Sigh…So many days not going to work this month already, still I dare to go on holiday ah? LOL!

Besides that, it takes time to plan for a trip. I don’t like to go with tours. I hate being in too many places in so few days and drag myself along with a bunch of people who are rushing in and out of the bus and hotels. I couldn’t even enjoy the nice rooms with quartz heater when we went to Korea last time because everything was too rush! Free and easy trips work better for me.

So God, please give me a nice holiday….

Accutane

I know that accutane is used to treat severe acne, and some skincare products listed accutane as one of the ingredients too. But little that I know, it can cause some side effects like inflammatory bowel disease and Crohn’s disease. So, maybe it’s best to avoid this chemical sustain for your own good.

But if you are already infected with its side effects, and would like to file a complain, then maybe you can check out Trasylol lawsuit and Accutane Lawsuit. The professionals might be able to help you out.

On the other hand, try to consult a proper dermatologist if you have any skin problem instead of listening to sales promoters or trying out any direct sales products.

A Year Already?

The other day, SIL told me that it’s time to renew her car insurance, so the agent had to come by to take a look at her car. And I was like, what? It’s a year already? It felt like she has just got her new car last few months!

Time flies really fast without me realizing it.

Then, she informed me that the office will hold the annual praying ritual in 2 weeks and I felt the same thing again. OMG, so fast a year already? Where has time gone?

I’m getting older faster than I thought. LOL! Things like renewing car insurance is a great indicator of how fast time passes by.

Isabelle’s First Hospital Stay

I guess most of you should have known that Isabelle was admitted to the hospital last Saturday, and thanks for all your comments and concern. It’s quite a scary experience to us, but I’m glad it’s over now and she’s doing fine.

Like any other Saturdays, we would drop by my office in the afternoon for a meeting or updating hubby about the progress. The kids were perfectly fine as Justin had fully recovered, and Isabelle was feeling fine as well. She had a mild fever for days when Justin was ill but after 2 trips to the pediatrician, she was back to normal.

But who knows? She had a fever suddenly when we left the office and went for dinner. She was not herself when we reached the Japanese restaurant, and she didn’t have appetite for sushi. I got hubby to get her a blanket from the car and she slept on my lap, placing her legs on hubby who’s sitting beside me. Then suddenly, hubby felt that she’s jerking. She had a febrile seizure, and was totally unconscious but her arms and legs were twitching. Her eyes kept blinking and she was like having a hard time breathing. It totally scared the hell out of us!!!! Even FIL and BIL who were dining with us had a great shock.

We quickly rushed her out from the restaurant, trying to get her to the hospital. The other diner at the next table got hubby to go on his bike as the nearest hospital is just a stone throw away. I grabbed Justin to get the car, and it took me awhile to get the car out from the car park. I still remembered hearing the guard telling me I didn’t pay for the parking fee but what the heck, I didn’t even know where was the card! I just drove the car out. :P

It happened so fast, all of us was panic. Justin kept asking me in the car, “Is mei mei going to di*?” And I tell you, I got goosebumps hearing that and my hands were shaking on the steering wheel. Thank god that the hospital was only nearby and I managed to get a parking space easily.

Hubby was already at the children emergency ward with Isabelle. The doctor asked a lot of questions. Isabelle was not having a seizure by then but she’s like too tired and taking a nap. Since the doctor found out that Justin just had influenza A, and even if Isabelle’s test was negative last week, she suggested that we did all the tests again. She checked her reflex, and examined her visually if she might have dengue. Then, Isabelle was sent for x-ray, and also taken her blood sample, urine sample and nose swab later on. Needless to say, our gal cried the hell out as she was too terrified by the tests. She has never been so sick before, and this was her first seizure.

The doctor wanted her to be admitted immediately to monitor her further since febrile seizure is no play play, even if it might not cause brain damage. She wanted to see if it will recur in 24 hours. My first thought was to transfer Isabelle under her pediatrician’s hospital, which is a distance away. But hubby and I were worried that we might not be able to get a single room there. Rooms are quite limited at that hospital, and it was quite late at night already. Most patients won’t check out at night.

So in the end, we admitted Isabelle in this hospital. There were single rooms available, and only I would be staying with her, so we don’t mind getting a smaller room anyway.

Another pediatrician came by to check on her. She gave her some med through drip to cease her fever. So she was on duo drips for the night.

Hubby went back for a while to pack for me, and I kept our gal company all the time. She’s still having a fever that night, and I tried to make sure that she’s not having another attack in 24 hours.

Changing into the hospital robe.

hospital2
Lying there, totally lethargic but still wanna watched TV.

I found that the nurses didn’t come around that often at this hospital, so I dared not fall asleep much. Frankly, my heart would skip a beat when I saw Isabelle’s blinking her eyes in her sleep. It would take me a while to see if she’s just moving her eyes in her sleep or what. :P

The nurse came in to change her robe at 6.30am the next day, and after sponging, her temperature subsided a bit. The doctor came early too but he didn’t allow her to be discharged. Nonetheless, Isabelle was quite alert now and she was complaining that she’s hungry and where’s her breakfast? LOL! That’s my gal.

hospital3
She didn’t want to share her breakfast with me. LOL!

The nurses came by once a while and Isabelle chatted with them. She even requested paper and pencil from a nurse. She’s so bored…

Drawing…

Before noon, she’s almost back to herself. Her temperature was about 38 deg, but she’s active and normal again. She kept walking out from the room too, pushing her drips along!!!

Walking around

She’s trying to find the playground. But too bad, that was the other hospital, not the one she’s staying. There is one at the children section at the 1st floor, but I didn’t want her to go too far from her room at the 15th floor.

I got the nurses to watch her for awhile when I went to grab some sandwiches. I tell you, the lower ground was so packed with out patients, I was totally paranoid with the amount of germs in the air. :P Sorry la, after so many frequent trips to the hospital lately, you can’t blame me from being too careful. That’s why I don’t want Isabelle to walk too far away from her room.

The nurses were quite surprised to see how active she was, and after another round of measurement, they called the doctor. She was allowed to be discharged in the afternoon, after taking her lunch and a nap. I guess she walked too much in the morning, she took a long nap before discharged.

Her X-ray showed that her lungs are fine, the blood test didn’t show any infection too, and even the nose swab showed negative on influenza. So, what could have cause the fit? Probably just a sudden fever. It scared us and after her first fever fit, we shall pay extra caution if she has a fever next time.

The aftermath for Isabelle? She’s so freaked out by her first hospital stay, especially the X-ray and blood test, and then the drips! She keeps telling us, no junk food, it’s bad. I will eat more fruits. LOL!

Oh ya, this time, hubby agrees on getting insurance for the kids here. He never pays much attention to insurance, personal nor auto insurance companies. But after a series of hospital trips and $$$ spent on the kids and us (ya, parents also taking meds) in less than 3 weeks, he very scared jor. LOL!

Hiccup

One of my potential customers had his project budget cut by the government, and that’s a very bad news to us! But he might still work on the budget, maybe not this year, so it’s ok to me. He will still get some products from me even if he has to scale down his project to laboratory use. But there goes my gold bullion profit which I’ve been aiming for. :P

Anyway, this project has a long way to go, so there should be some hiccups along the way. In the mean time, I better consider on other companies and set this project aside.

8kg

What 8kg, you may ask? Is that the weight I gained? If so, I must be soooo FAT!

That 8kg is the total weight all 4 of us lost over more than a week. We lost 2kg each on average in 10 days, is it too drastic? I guess so. :P

This healing stage takes longer than usual. Isabelle, the tougher cookie, has fully recovered. Justin’s on a temperature again today, but he’s fine. He’s off to the hospital get some med again with hubby. Hubby is probably is weakest amongst us as his fever is on and off, and he left work early again today. :P His boss called and asked him to take good care of his flu first, how sweet…

But I’m not too concerned about the weight lost, that can be easily gained back once everyone’s back to health and eating well. Oh ya, yours truly was also quite sick. :P Nothing too serious but the slight fever and flu. Hate it la… But I’m feeling much better now except a bit out of breathe. The chest is too painful for another cough!

Anyway, we shall give ourselves another week. 8kg? Ok la…2 kg each only mah. I don’t mind losing it though. LOL!

Healing Stage

I joked with hubby that this week must be the week that we made the most frequent trips to the hospital! We brought Isabelle to the hospital again yesterday, even if she’d just gone there a day before. Why? That’s because she had a high fever and we realized that we were out of paracetamol! This is the longest fever she has never had, for up to 5 days. Of course, she’s not catching influenza A or any serious virus, as tested, but her body is fighting infection.

Hubby thought we could just drop by the hospital and buy the medicine, but who knows, we had to queue for check up again. Sigh…But it’s ok la, at least this other pediatrician confirmed that she will be fine, despite the fever.

She’s still very active, but extremely moody and grumpy. She complains about dizziness and feeling hot, but other than that, she’s fine. As for Justin, he’s fully recovered. He’s back to his naughty self now!!!

Hubby is still having some coughing, but he should be able to get back to work on Monday. He’s been on MC for a week!

Right now, I’m back at work and he’s at home with the kids. I’ve fixed the lunch, so he should be fine with the kids. I did ask him to gao tim the laundry, clean the furnace filters at the sinks, and tidy the kids closets. Let’s see if he can do at least one item!!!

Hey, he doesn’t want a maid what, so sick also have to do house chores la. LOL! Anyway, he’s feeling better. :)

Justin’s Down with Influenza A

It’s going to be a rather long post, so it’s more for my own record.

Last Friday, hubby was down with fever, and he left work early. Each time he has a fever, he will sleep without air conditioning, so he tugged in with the kids who sleep without air con after midnight. Yours truly here cannot survive without air-conditioning though.

The next morning, he’s still pretty sick. I prepared an early lunch and got the kids fed and changed. Then, we brought hubby to the hospital for check up. My initial thought was to send the kids to my office and ask the office maid to take care of them, but Justin refused to go. He’s quite sticky to us actually. Thus, all of us tagged along to the hospital, which was so crowded that Saturday afternoon. I even joked to hubby that this private hospital makes good biz huh? LOL!

Anyway, the whole process from seeing the doctor, to taking a jab and get the med from the dispensary to paying the bills took about 3 hours. No joke! We were there for 3 freaking hours! So, Justin might have caught influenza A virus from other patients at the hospital, or from hubby. Hubby was down with high fever over 39.5 deg and I can’t remember what jab he took.

So basically, hubby was just sleeping through the weekend, while I took the kids to classes on Sunday. Between the switching from piano / ballet class to Chinese class, hubby dropped by. He said Justin’s feverish, so he brought him home while I stayed back to wait for Isabelle.

When I got home, the boy was sleeping. He was not himself, and his fever got worse. Actually, we have 2 guys at home with high fever now, and it’s not a pretty Sunday. Justin slept with hubby that night while I was with Isabelle. Hubby took care of him, but his fever didn’t subside even with paracetamol. So, hubby brought him to the pediatrician at the hospital while I went to work. I had a few important customer visits this week, and it’s all planned a week before. We thought he might just catch some viral so he should be fine. Isabelle was at school as usual.

Who knows? Justin really got infected by influenza A virus, after a swab test. I was shocked when I heard that over the phone. I was miles away in another side of the town, so I could only be at the hospital after lunch. Nonetheless, my mind was still working well, and I planned everything despite being quite panic.

Firstly, I asked for SIL to help me with Isabelle. She better spent a night with them than with hubby or me at the hospital. Then, I went back to pack some clothes and necessities and went to pick up Isabelle from school. I sent her to my office maid, and she took care of Isabelle for me. After that, off I went to the hospital to see Justin.

He’s admitted in a twin sharing room because they were out of single room. It’s not a good idea. We requested a single room and got it after someone checked out in the late evening. Hubby went back to pick Isabelle and pack too. After dinner, he sent Isabelle off to SIL.

001a
Justin slept most of the time.

003a
The doctor gave him some stickers and vitamin C to make him feel “better”.

008a
Transferred to single room, and he couldn’t even open his eyes to watch TV. :P

During those hours, Justin’s temperature didn’t drop much. He was measured at 39.5 – 39.7 deg, and he was str*pped and sponged by the nurses after each measurement. That’s the only time he’s conscious and crying too as he’s in cold. They had to sponge him to bring down the temperature, on top of giving med and drips. However, the lowest he could go was 39.1 deg and it’s not good.

So, the whole night was all about measuring (4 hourly) then sponged, then fed medicine, and all got some rest. Hubby and I took turns to sleep beside him, and I would say both of us didn’t sleep much that night. Nonetheless, I did knock out for a while after the 4am routine and took a nap on the sofa. Really tired jor…

But luckily, the room is quite good. We could take shower (everything is provided, including towels), and help ourselves with lots of coffee and water to stay alert. Coffee is given too, so it’s good enough.

At 8am, the doctor came. His temperature dropped to 38.4 deg, and it’s such a relief. The doctor said that he can go home, but needed to come back a day after for check up again. We were so pleased to hear that! Resting at home is much better than staying at the hospital.

After his temperature subsided slightly, Justin was more alert. He walked around for awhile, but got back to the room after he found out that he couldn’t play at the wooden swing set and slides at the mini playground. He’s still on drip so he couldn’t move much. Hubby even asked him why he walked so small step? This daddy hoh? Thinks his boy can go down from the bed and run already. After not eating for more than 24 hours, can you be back to your usual self and run ah? *slap head*

014b
Walked a bit in the next morning

He didn’t have much appetite but he took a few spoons of porridge. That’s good enough. It would take awhile before he felt like eating again. At least he’s conscious and more alert now. On and off, he took some naps. He was discharged after lunch, and his temperature subsided further. We were so glad!

Then, hubby went to pick up Isabelle from school. This time, we got ourselves a feverish gal. I thought I could at least get some sleep at home but I was up taking care of a feverish gal. But then, her temperature was not too high. I guess her body is fighting the infection gua…

So, both kids are at home today due to self quarantine. Hubby went back to work after resting for so many days. Actually, his colleague was diagnosed with influenza A yesterday, so we suspect that hubby got the virus and passed to our boy. :P

Anyway, Justin will go for his check up tomorrow, and I think he should be fine by now. It’s Isabelle that I’m monitoring closely. She’s a tougher cookie, and she takes “longer” to get sick. Right now, her fever really not much and she’s fully active and alert. If she has fever tonight, she will be seeing the pediatrician with Justin tomorrow .
