Hubby said that since I’m so into bento-ing lately, why don’t I sell some bento tools. I can easily get the gadgets from Daiso or Sanrio, but I don’t think mothers in Malaysia are willing to pay for the shipping fees. It’s close to USD10 for a shipment, if I’m not mistaken. Besides that, there are so many mothers selling the similar stuffs already, so I don’t think I have any market share. LOL!
Setting up a business is not that hard, but how to maintain it and make a projected profit is another thing. You can just set up an auto shop if you get auto parts franchises but after spending a fortune of starting up, who knows when will you get back your investment, considering this market recession? Of course, I know that it’s not costly to set up a webstore, but I don’t want to do anything that doesn’t come with a return.
Better spend my time knitting or thinking of what to pack for the next day. LOL!

Ya, I’m into bento-ing too. It’s fun, it’s satisfying and it’s interesting. Actually, I blog about my children’s bentos at my mothering blog, which was meant for my breastfeeding journey. Since I’m no longer a moo, the blog has a new niche.
Maybe I should find a new template for it, but I’m too lazy la…
Sorry ya Jacss? I have too many blogs and they are confusing. LOL!
BTW, to all bento mommies, if you are looking for more ideas on how to decor your bento, check out this post about my bento resources. We can’t prepare cute little food everyday, but it’s still fun to look at how amazing the charaben bentos are. Check it out ya?

My internet connection is pretty bad lately, and I don’t know why. I’m the only one having the problem and hubby said he can’t see any difference. It’s quite frustrating when I can’t use a faster line especially when I’m trying to check out some stuffs from some webstores. Yes, I’m shopping online again, and they are all bento related gadgets. I think I’m spending more buying bento stuffs than getting new shoes now. LOL!
Luckily I’m using the money from Paypal, which I hardly touch. Thus, hubby doesn’t say anything about my indulgence in beautifying the kids’ lunch boxes, as long as I don’t pack him any food with Hello Kitty or cute bunnies. LOL!
Frankly, I don’t make much from my blogs these days, and the earning is pathetic. I might as well try my luck at Online Casino and see if I finally have some money luck. I am one of those who lose more than winning when it comes to betting, and not to mention, I don’t have any idea how to win a game! Have anyone win some big bucks from the Video Poker at Online Casinos? I know some friends who won some money from horse racing, but not poker yet. Sometimes, I wonder why certain people really have lucks with it comes to gambling, but too bad, I don’t have any!
So, I wonder how long will the money keep coming in to my Paypal account…

My kids can’t watch TV on school nights, so we have to think of something to keep them occupied. Besides playing and reading, they like to prepare their own food too. They are too young to prepare our meals, of course, but they can certainly do simple things like Justin helping me to wash the veggie, and Isabelle helping daddy to set the table. By not having a maid at home, my kids are getting more independent now. But still, we have a housekeeper who comes in almost everyday to help me with the chores. If not, I will definitely “khi siao” with the housework and please don’t tell me that doing house chores is the best fat burner ok? I’m too busy…….
One of their favorite activities is making their own jelly. They have done this a few times, and previously, I used the raw jelly. But now, hubby bought the gelatin powder, which makes things easier.

Mixing gelatin powder with water

Check check and see if it’s still hot. Mommy, add cold water pls…..

Ok, cold liao. Let’s pour it into our star shape mould.

Isabelle still needs some help with this…

There you go. Just refrigerate it overnight and they will have desserts the next day.
This morning, my kids asked for bentos again. I didn’t have time to prepare as my head was spinning with flu bug attack. Thus, I took out the color animal picks and let them have fun “preparing” their own bentos.

Just put one animal pick on each sandwich cube…simple huh?

Justin’s bento
So, maybe I will get them involved in preparing their bentos more often. Right now, mommy and daddy are a bit sick. Can the kids fix dinner tonight? LOL! Just kidding la…

Most kids normally like bento izzit? Justin has been “pressing” me to prepare his bento since the first one. Most of the time, I will just prepare something simple, and I’m still figuring out how to make it cute. Frankly, I’m clueless about “beautifying” a bento. LOL! Nonetheless, I guess I will post about bento here since the blog has lost its niche after I retired from being a moo.
Frankly, most of my blogs are not being updated much, unless I have paid links to be completed. Really really lazy liao…
I would rather spend time watching series or movies with hubby at night , while my hands are busy with my knitting needles, and then tidur at about midnight. Really old liao…cannot tahan burning the midnight oil anymore…Not to mention spending so much on eyemasks can bomb my shopping budget when I’m eying on Festina watches. :p
Anyway, I guess I’ve done enough shopping during the end of season sales. I will spend more time checking out blogs about bento instead…

I’m not sure how many bentos will I prepare in the future, but the first bento is definitely a blogable material!
Days ago, I tried out the egg mold which I bought from Tesco for the first time, but the result didn’t turn out nice. I was in a hurry in the morning, and I didn’t boil the eggs long enough. It’s so hard to remove the shells, my eggs were quite “deformed” on the surface.
My kids don’t eat eggs as I delayed in introducing eggs to my ultra sensitive kids who couldn’t tolerate a few types of food when they were babies. So, when I started introducing eggs when they were much older, they dislike the taste. However, they were interested to try out the “funny looking” hard boiled eggs as breakfast that morning but they couldn’t finish the eggs. It’s a good start.

Very deformed car and fish eggs.
So, this morning I decided to prepare their bentos to the office. It didn’t take me long to prepare the rice, pan fried chicken terriyaki balls, and our breakfast (fish ball and minced pork with Chinese spinach & noodles in anchovy soup). However, I was struggling with the rice mould as the rice was hot!!! Furthermore, I threw away the wrapper without reading the instruction first so I had to agak agak how to use the rice mould. LOL!

Teriyaki chicken balls.

Justin and Isabelle’s bentos with rice, broccolli, cauliflower and chicken balls.

My rice didn’t turn out cute… Sigh…
I bought the bento sets from Central, and they come with bags. Since there was one extra container, I packed them some snacks too.

Add some snacks…

Melody bento set for Isabelle and Shinkansen for Justin. All done!
The kids and hubby woke up shortly after and my kids were happy to see their bentos. I don’t know why, my breakfast tasted so nice this morning, maybe I was happy with my first bento “achievement”. LOL!

Our breakfast…
Oh ya, I ordered more bento stuffs online just now. LOL! BTW, I don’t think I will prepare rice for bento as it gets cold after a while and my kids couldn’t finish the rice. I wonder how to reduce the portion of the rice or make it warm longer? Mmm…
