We are safe

We are kiasi. As soon as I saw the tweet about evacuation, I quickly rushed hubby and the kids to get ready to leave. We were waiting for the kids for their Chinese class, and we were supposed to have dinner out.

But on the safe side, I just let the kids have some bread while we rushed home to grab the bags and documents. Then, our neighbor came to help us move the fridge upstairs, and we made sure that all sockets, except the fridge was unplugged. There are cases where flood victims were electrocuted in their home, so no play play.

We are staying with FIL for the moment, and as soon as our condo is ready, I guess we will move in for awhile. Or maybe move our things in. It will speed up our moving process.

Some updates said the evacuation is not necessary, and had caused panic. But honestly, the water is not too far away, just about 1.5km. With the embankment and sandbag walls collapsing a couple of times, it’s best to stay safe than sorry.

Today, I’m still at work. Still have a lot to do, especially in getting my work permit renewal. Visa can wait, and so is driving license. After that, I can smoke Rocky Patel cigars in my new balcony and relax. Just kidding la, I don’t smoke.

Flood

We are under a lot of stress! Everyday, hubby and I will check on the flood updates, and see if we need to cabut to the condo, which is obviously not ready!!! Of course, we have other plans, like moving in with FIL, if needed, or just check into a hotel for a couple of days. It’s not that bad as long as we are packed and important stuffs have moved to second floor.

I still go to the office, but later as kids can’t wake up early. No more yoga as hubby is worried that area is already flooded, so better don’t take the risk.

I can’t go back as my work permit is expired next week, so I have to stay here and renew it. My staff is good at preparing the documents, but maybe she might leave out some and need to resubmit again. Anyway, I must say that I’m lucky enough to have a few good workers, even if they are not perfect, but things are done still. My admin can even go out and settle things on her own, buying laserjet ink cartridges, paying tax, buying office essentials without the need of me asking her to. As long as she lets me know in advance that she’s going out to run some errands, I will allow it. It saves me a lot of time from running around now.

If things get really bad, then I won’t come to work. Luckily it’s school holiday and the kids are with me most of the time.

Weird Ads

I saw a weird ads on the newspapers yesterday, someone is looking for an egg donor. Not that chicken egg ok? It’s an ovum. :P

I hardly pay attention to those classified ads on papers, as you know, they are mostly about jobs, tours, insurance, or property on sales, so there won’t be anything much concerning me. But that ads really caught my attention!!!

The price is pretty attractive, the chosen one will be given THB 1 million. It’s a lot of money for an egg!!! But you must be below 30, with IQ140 and must be Chinese or Caucasian. I bet he’s looking for a pretty woman with brain, but then again, why must he look for a donor instead of chasing one? Unless he’s married and the wife is…. :P

Boh eng

Oh boy, the renovation is more major that we thought. Hubby and I went to check out the unit a couple of days ago and the whole place is like…. debris here and there, dusty, dirty, and I didn’t know it’s so hard to even break down half of the bathroom wall!!! Let alone the bigger connecting wall between the 2 units. OMG…

So, renovation will be slower than anticipated. :P I stopped buying anything in the mean time, except booking for furniture. Anything else can wait until the whole place is ready. However, I will have another month to throw out unwanted stuffs, especially those junks in the storeroom. No idea why we have so many rubbish like cord cover. chargers, toys and etc piling up over 3 years!

Next will be looking for carton boxes and start packing. Oh boy…really boh eng…

Overflow

September will be a busy month for us. Firstly, the renovation started. Call me superstitious but we really wanted to wait until the 7th lunar month is over before renovating the condos. It’s a BIG MESS inside!!! Debris, dust, mold, in short, you don’t wanna be in there.

Then, it’s also the month to pay school fees for the next term. Another burn-the-wallet issue to be settled in September. :P

And my supplier is asking us to go to Japan for a training in February, and I’m not sure how we are going to manage it. Hubby said go with the kids. O.o Hello, like that how I attend training???

Then another email came that the marketing team will fly here from Japan for a SEA visit. Jialat, I will have to entertain a group of “nap pun lou” for a week. My routine will definitely be all screwed up and I can’t leave them to my sales, who can’t speak much English. And them who can’t speak much English too. Faint…I should go pick up some Japs now ah??? Boh eng you know???

On top of that, yours truly has finally started to pick up yoga again…. THIS MORNING!!! My legs are breaking, my tummy is sore, and my head is probably overflow with blood that I look so pinkish now. LOL! My muscles had just got a shock after not working out for more than 3 years. Probably need to change into hospital scrubs if I do the exercise a little longer. Luckily, it’s only 1.5 hour and I could still manage it.

I lost most of my flexibility though but that can be worked out. Hopefully, I can make it to the class at least 3 times a week.

So, can my life be anymore busier than this in September?

Raining still

It rains a lot lately and I hope that the rainy season will be over in a month. Some of the roads near our condo tend to be flooded so you can imagine the inconvenience caused. I heard that the authority is upgrading the drainage system but not sure how long will it take to be completed. There are a lot of new houses being built in the neighborhood, and more and more people are moving into that area. If some roads are flooded, traffic will be very chaotic.

So, I better drive more carefully on the slippery road. I don’t think those need need any truck tire chains either as long as they don’t speed.

Panic

I’m in the sense of panic now. Will the condo be ready on time? We have to move out latest first week of October!!! The papers are not ready yet, and renovation can only kick start end of this month. Anyway, it’s the lunar month when I don’t want to do anything yet until it’s all over. So we only have about 30 days to get everything done. PANIC!

I should start decluttering. But it’s soooo hard! So many things which I’m not sure if I should just throw them all away now. Maybe I shall start from room to room, that will be better. We can’t move too many stuffs in the condo due to storage constrain. No more invitationbox.com christmas photo cards nor extra pair of shoes until we have moved in.

Eat la

Some of us are not born with supermodel ultra slim bodies, so we need to put in some effort to look good. I have stopped taking the mik shake drink because I got bored with it. By just looking at the bottles make me wanna puke. So should Ijust buy liporexall as replacement? Or just eat healthily?

Honestly, I don’t like do skip meals. Not being able to eat as I wish feels like a lousy idea to someone who has a busy and tough life like me. Work so hard jor cannot eat meh? Then what is life about?

Gadgets

I’ve almost got myself a MacBook Pro that day, but it’s in Thai keyboard, and Thai manual. So I ditched the purchase plan. The sales person told me to order online, but hubby said I might kena tax so what’s the point? Might as well wait until my next trip back home only I buy. Hopefully, my aging Dell can survive that long!!!

I only need a laptop now and I don’t need any more gadgets nor htc desire, unless iPhone 5 makes me itchy again. LOL!

Am I the only one not getting iPad 2 yet? I’m so outdated!

Monday Rant

I’m getting sick of the whole condo and house hunting thingy, but we definitely have to move out from our current house soon. The thing with these houses built in our area is, the workmanship is pretty lousy and the house looked so bad after 5 years.

The ceiling is leaking now, and it’s going to be fixed tomorrow. The kids are so worried that it’s going to collapse. LOL! The car porch which was just newly renovated last year is showing up some cracks again. OMG…But I’m so not looking forward for the whole removing tiles and reconstruction again, it’s too messy and dusty for me. BTW, the air conditioning in my room decided to break down in this hot hot summer season, and I’m having trouble sleeping at night. So, all these must be fixed while we are waiting for the final contract deals with the developer.

I feel that we should get a daily cleaner in if we manage to move into the condo. The place is small, but I want someone to do the chores and laundry, instead of hubby and me splitting the chores after working hours. I’m getting too exhausted lately. Besides that, I prepare dinner in the morning these days, and I want someone to clean up after that. I don’t have enough time to do the cleaning up and I hate seeing the pots and pans piling up at the sink until hubby gets back in the evening.

Then maybe I can start enjoying TV shows by LocalTV-Satellite. Faint or not? I haven’t really watched TV since I move here. I do watch series online, but I want to watch the TV too!!!

Maybe we can just install home security alexander and CCTV at home to monitor the cleaner. That if only I can hire one too!!! Sigh…
