3 years in Bangkok
March is ending soon and April is approaching. How did time pass by so fast? In 2 months, we will be marking our 3rd anniversary here in Bangkok, and I can’t believe that we have been here for so long.
Actually, 3 years mean nothing to most expats I’ve known recently. I’ve just had lunch with an ex-school mate who has been here for 7 years! And hubby met a Malaysian Indian who has been here for 21 years, when he went golfing last Sunday.
What have we done or achieved in 3 years? Let’s see…
- All of us can speak Thai, but my Thai is still very lame.
- Hubby reads Thai, and that’s a great progress.
- Kids have no problem making friends with both Thai and expats, but their English deteriorates, which brought us to transfer them to another school.
- We have to move out from our house in a couple of months because our landlord is selling the house.
- Both hubby and I are busy at work, and busy is good.
- Our car is getting old too, and it’s time to renew the Car Insurance
- We are not flying back home as much like we did.
- We have a pet guinea pig named G Force!
But the most important thing now is to get a condo (by cash preferably) or find another house. That should be another milestone to make our 4th year in Thailand.
