It’s hubby’s birthday today, and I remember!!!! I gave him my wishes after 12am last night because I am quite forgetful so it’s best to wish him as early as possible before I forget about it the whole day. LOL!

He didn’t want anything but a dinner as a family, so I didn’t get him anything. Frankly, it’s unromantic, but what to do? That’s what he wants.

We haven’t decided on where to eat tonight. Mmm…where should we go?

I just want to wish everyone

Happy New Year!!!

December 31st, 2007 by shoppingmum

I don’t have the habit of making new year’s resolution, but I have a plan for myself next year. If we are moving away, I will get lots of yarns for my knitting projects throughout the year, and source for home teaching materials for my kids. I might want to get them started with home learning until they are ready for the new term at international schools, which is extremely costly! I joked with hubby that we are buying a Honda City with cash every year, if two of our kids are going to school. If we can’t make that much, we will definitely end up with debts and one day, we will need debt consolidation to get things through. He said he will try his best to make more money, if his moving plan is on.

Actually, if I have debts, I will make my effort into reducing them throughout the new year. Leading a debt free life is possible, if you know how to control your spending and plan your money well. If you really need help, consult those financial advisers. I found that most people are only concentrating on working to pay off the debt but by paying the minimum payment, it’s taking them too long to reach the goal.

Luckily, I don’t have to worry about this. All I want for the new year is spending more time with my kids and hubby. Of course, knitting and crocheting will still be my main hobbies.

Justin’s school celebrated a Christmas party this morning. There were 3 kids who celebrated their birthdays this month so we combined their birthday parties together. I was in charged of getting the birthday cake, and I ordered one from The Left Shore again. This time, it’s a Christmas theme banana walnut cake and everyone loved it.

The party cake

My kids enjoyed playing for a while even if it’s so sunny! When the teacher asked me to kick start the birthday party, I realized that I forgot to get the candles!!! Luckily, she managed to find 3 candles for the birthday kids. Phew…There was a magic show to entertain the kids and they loved it. The magician gave out some balloons to every child and before the party ended, we had some makan makan session and exchanging presents.

I cannot believe that I only remember my wedding anniversary this morning after reading a post by Lilian. Gee….both hubby and I didn’t realize this at all!!! Or maybe hubby remembers but he pretends to forget since I didn’t mention? LOL!

I’m really not one of those people who remembers dates well, except my kids’ birthdays. I guess it’s a good point to hubby too as I don’t ask for celebration or presents that often since I’m so forgetful. Maybe I should set all these important dates in my handphone and let it beep me on anything!!!

Gee….happy belated wedding anniversary to me….BTW, it was on 25th, the day we baked a cake at home….Maybe hubby treats the cake as our anniversary gift too? Wah!!! One stone kills 2 birds!

I thought hubby will only call tomorrow morning, but I was surprised to receive his call at 12am just now. It’s nice to have his wishes on the first moment of my 30th birthday. Gee…30 years old liao, will that be any difference from being in the 20s? LOL!

It’s just too bad that he has meeting elsewhere tomorrow night, if not I know that he will be back to eat out with me and the kids. That’s the way we celebrate our birthdays and any special days. Both of us are just eating out with kids and family, and that’s it, no more fancy things. If it’s the kids’ birthdays, then we will try to do something special.

But well, as long as he still remembers those days, it’s good enough for me as I’m not good at remembering dates. LOL! I was wondering why he called just now. Cilaka, I forgot it’s my birthday for 10 seconds. I’m really getting old. :P

Hubby very lansi, he doesn’t want us to give him anything. He said this is only a commercialized way of making us spend more on gifts and food, so don’t be fool.  Ok lah, I save up all my money and went shopping at Body Shop just now, lagi shiok!

But we are not that bad lah, hubby still has a little gift. Not from me, but from his boy boy Justin…..

My boy was 2 years old last Christmas, thus he is fully aware of Santa Clause, the raindeers, the presents and the poem “The Night Before Christmas”.

We didn’t have lots of Christmas decoration at home, but when we were at my brother’s place, Justin was very excited to see the Christmas tree and Christmas wreaths at the doors. My brother’s place was nicely decorated and they had Christmas eve party too, but we didn’t attend. I still remembered that we spent last Christmas at home, where I placed Justin and Isabelle’s presents in their socks and how excited they were when they saw the presents the next morning.

But this year, I hope that we can get a Christmas tree at home. It’s still early for Christmas, but Justin likes listening to his Christmas song CD sometimes. :) If he knows there will be a Christmas tree, he will be thrilled!

11 months ago, we came here to celebrate Isabelle’s full moon, and this morning, we celebrated her 1st birthday one day in advance at the same place —— old town McDonald’s.

The party was held at 9.30am and everyone arrived in sleepy looks, asking us why the party has to be held so early on a Sunday? Well, lots of McD had been fully booked from 12pm onwards, so what to do? Blame it on hubby’s last minute decision lah. :P Anyway, I like it to be in the morning because my kids are early risers, so it’s not a big problem to the birthday girl!

See little Isabelle in this cute tutu shirt? I just love it and when I saw in at Guess, I grabbed it ASAP as knew that she will look good in it! See, I’m right huh? :)

Check out my tutu skirt and baby T

See her cheeky smile? That’s the way she likes to smile now!

The kids played for a while at the playground……..

This is fun!!!

Then, everyone was be seated and waited for the food to be served……..

Where’s the fries, mommy?

After mum mum, the kids had some games…….

Faster faster faster!!!

Then, it’s the cake cutting ceremony. Isabelle was sleeping and I got to wake her up! Luckily she didn’t make a fuss ……..

Happy birthday to u, happy birthday to u,

happy birthday to u, happy birthday to u

In short, Isabelle (when you read this next time)

Mommy Love u

Papa Love u

and Koh Koh Love u too…….

And to all the aunty and uncle, koh koh and jie jie who drop by this blog, this piece of strawberry mousse cake is for you!

Enjoy your cake!

I like to wear red during the first 2 days of Chinese New Year, but I haven’t tried cheongsam or sam fu before. However, I like my kids to put on Chinese traditional clothes during CNY just to symbolize the occasion. I asked hubby to get these clothes when he’s working in China a few months ago, and he got for all the kids in the family. Anyway, it’s not hard to find these clothings here too as I’ve seen a few shops selling them as well.
Here they are in our traditional clothes:
