Wordless Wednesday: Our Wonderful Weekend in Sattahip Beach and at Jesters, Pattaya

P/S: Thanks Tang!

Khlong Suan 100 Year Old Market

Hubby suggested that we made a trip to Khong Suan 100 Year Old Market on Mother’s Day. All of us really “dilly dally” the whole morning so by the time we left home, it’s almost 11am. It’s so sunny and hot, and the journey to Khlong Suan Old Market took about 2 hours! You bet I was in my utmost grumpy mood as I really hate the sun, except on beach trips. :P

Not only me, the kids complained about the heat too. It was quite hot at this market, even if it’s roofed and shaded. It’s a very old place, so don’t even think about finding a cafe with air-conditioning. :P The coffee shops are very old, with the tables and stools, and if you are city folk, this is not the place for you. Forget about looking for auto accessories here too. But if you love photography, I think this market is nice for photos. I didn’t have the mood to play with my camera due to the heat, so I missed a good chance of learning how to play more with my toy! :P

Here are some photos taken at Khlong Suan market.

My boy’s checking out some animal figurines.

This market has a lot of antics. I like the antic toys.

I had a merry-go-round musical box but Justin broke it when he was a toddler. :P

These houses are 100 years old, and they are surrounded by a canal. You can actually have a boat ride around the market.

Wooden bridges are built to connect the different sections of the market and houses.

Most of the stall or shop owners are elderly, but they are very friendly. This uncle let our kids use the washroom. :)

My shoe fetish gal found herself a pair of toy shoes. LOL!

This is my favorite photo.

It was taken after we had a short tour at the market, with me complaining about how hot and sweaty I was, and Justin turned around and said, “Mommy, faster la. So hot. Why you always so slow? Mommy, walk faster!”

Check out how far daddy had walked. He’s tired of hearing my complains. LOL! Poor daddy…he must be p*ssed. LOL!

We were only there for half an hour, and the kids bought something from the market. As for me, hubby bought me a fan. LOL!

I purposely enlarged this photo, can you see my hubby’s upsetting face?

He thought I can snap photos here, but too bad, it was too hot for me to handle. :P BTW, this wooden bridge is quite shaky, and Isabelle was so cautious with every step she took.

Too bad I really hate the heat, so I didn’t have mood to snap more photos. I saw a few tourists with canggih cameras here, and so if you love to snap old antic buildings and objects, Khlong Suan 100 Year Old Market might be the place for you. As for shopaholic like me, let’s stick to shopping malls. LOL!

A Trip to Phuket

For the past few days, I have been looking for a hotel or resort in Phuket in November, and it seems like the room rates are so expensive during the peak season! Actually, we will only be there for 3 days, so hubby doesn’t want to spend a bomb on a nice room or private villa with pretty ceramic tile and private pool. :P

I’ve booked the flight tickets and now it’s only about getting a place to stay. With a tight budget *ahem!*, I have to be FRUGAL in looking for a room. Any suggestion, anyone?

Day Trip to Pattaya Again

I guess I kept blogging about Pattaya since we moved there huh? LOL! But then, it’s the nearest beach from Bangkok, and even if it’s not the nicest in Thailand, it’s still one of the beach options available for a day trip, if we don’t want to drive for more than 3 hours. Nonetheless, we didn’t drive to Pattaya last Saturday but we took the vans with the office staffs, so it’s more fun going as a group.

I guess the photos can speak for themselves about our trip to Pattaya Floating Market, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and Resort and Jomtien beach (the beach minutes away from Pattaya).

First stop, the over 100 years old temple

Kids were more curious about the cute baby

So cute hoh? He’s a boy, by the way…

Cubit cubit

Next stop, Pattaya Floating Market

Our one and only couple photo for the trip. LOL!

Darling Isabelle was trying to ask for the flowers.

Justin’s feeding the elephant

Jomtien beach

Building sandcastle, with hands. LOL!

Justin loves the waves.

Sunset by the beach

I’m a bit lazy for blogging lately. :P Please go to my Facebook for more photos ya?

Maybe it’s the fatigue over the busy weekends. Ya, WEEKENDS! Mark the S. We are going to have another busy weekend again on Sunday. Ahh….I really need a good back massage, I’m so tired. :P

Besides that, I found out that a blogger had just lost her husband, and even if I don’t know her personally, it’s still a great loss. A bit lost of words now…

No Camping Afterall

We told the kids that we might go camping this weekend, but the plan was canceled. It’s been raining for the past few days, and it’s not a good season for camping at national park. Justin is pretty disappointed, but we will bring them for a day trip to the beach tomorrow. Poor hubby, he’s been working late these few days, driving around to a few places and he has to drive to the beach tomorrow. He’s going to be very tired after the trip. :P

How I wish we can have a relaxing stay at the villas in Outer Banks foreclosures. You know? The kind of trips where you don’t do anything but eat, sleep and daydream? LOL! How I wish…

Are You Planning for a Holiday?

Searching for the next holiday has never been easier until I came across this website:

travclass_small.gif

I would love to play a family trip this year, if financially permits. So far, I have not got the green light from hubby yet, so I dare not do any planning without the approval of our family’s finance minister. But if money is not a concern, I would love to bring my kids for the first skiing trip. They might be too young to learn skiing, but playing in the snow in winter would be nice. Besides that, hubby misses skiing so much, I know that he would love to spend a few hours skiing by himself, while the lovely wife here watches the kids! LOL!

The 9 Days Winter Wonderland tour to Europe will just just nice as the kids and I can go for a ride by cable car to see the nice view of Mount Pilatus, and hopefully hubby can do some skiing there. Besides that, the package price sounds reasonable. Or maybe it’s because I haven’t really research for more option? *wink*

Anyway, I dare not dream too much now. It’s all depending on $$$ factor. So, even if hubby agrees on a budget vacation to Bali, I will be more than happy already!

So, if you are planning a holiday, hop over to TravClass ya!

Erawan Waterfall and The Bridge on River Kwai

I’ve heard a lot about Kanchanaburi, but we had not planned to make a trip there. BIL called us on Friday morning and asked if we wanted to join them for a trip to Erawan Waterfall and The Bridge on River Kwai in Kanchanaburi. It was a late minute decision, and by the time all of us got ready, it was almost 11am. :P It’s Labour Day, so all of us dilly telly to get ready very slowly. :P

Anyway, it took us about 4 hours to reach Kanchanaburi due to the traffic, and also we made a few stops along the way. When we finally reached the national park of Erawan Waterfall, it was almost 4pm, and it closes at 4.30pm!!!

You will have to walk for about 700m to reach the waterfall.

There are a total of 7 levels of Erawan waterfall, and if it’s not because of time limitation, we might want to check out the top part of the waterfall.

The first level of Erawan Waterfall.

We decided to rest at level 2 as it’s kind of late, and it’s going to rain soon.

SIL and I couldn’t help to chi chi cham about the girl in tube dress and heels. LOL! Sipeh pat…it’s national park mah, have to walk a lot wan leh…

I think I will need swallow weight loss pills before I can put on a tube dress like her. LOL! Anyway, my kids love the waterfall, and the first thing they did here was to sit down and have their picnic. I didn’t pack much except some fruits, and hubby and BIL bought some junks again. *slap head*

Yippie! I got jelly!

The kids spent most of the time eating only…

So the adults went to take some photos. Here I was at level 2 of the waterfall.

We didn’t jump in the water because….

I was very kiasi of the fishes!

There are a lot of fishes in the water, so I dared not step into the water. :P Too bad it started to rain shortly after, and we had to leave the waterfall. If you are coming to Kanchanaburi one day, please take note that Erawan Waterfall closes at 4.30pm, so try to come here earlier if you want to explore the top part of the waterfall.

Nonetheless, it was only drizzling, so we managed to snap some photos at the bottom of the hill.

Isabelle and Thong Thong

Justin was busy running around and jumping over the drain. He’s one active boy.

Oh ya, Isabelle’s empty patch at the top is less obvious now…

After leaving the national park, we made a trip to River Kwai to check out the historical bridge.

Mommy said have to check out a famous bridge woh…dunno what is it about, but there is a railway track on it!

Internationally famous, thanks the several motion pictures and books, the black iron bridge was brought from Java by the Japanese supervision by Allied prisoner-of-war labour as part of the Death Railway linking Thailand with Burma. Still in use today, the bridge was the target of frequent Allied bombing raids during World War II and was rebuild after war ended. The curved spans of the bridge are the original sections. A daily train is still following the historical route from Kanchanaburi to Nam Tok Railway Station.

Too bad the museum was closed by the time we reached there, so we didn’t manage to go for a visit.

That’s the bridge over River Kwai behind me and Justin.

Hubby and Isabelle on the bridge and can you see Justin couldn’t wait to go to the other end by himself?

It’s quite dangerous for kids to walk on this bridge, so we didn’t walk across to the other end.

Justin was pretty annoyed about this, but I can’t risk my kids of falling into the river!

So, we let them play by the railway track for awhile. How often do you get to sit on a railway track? :)

Before leaving Kanchanaburi, we went for dinner at the restaurant just by the river.

The Bridge on River Kwai

Even if we didn’t spend a lot of time in Kanchanaburi, but our kids had lots of fun. They really enjoyed “exploring” the railway track.
