I’ve just received my newsletter from Lancome that Lancôme’s GENEFIQUE Youth Activator is here at my nearest Lancome counter, and I’m so excited about it!

It’s like a smart serum, that will revive the gene activity especially in aging skin and stimulate the production of youth proteins. You can see a younger skin in you in just 7 days, with applications of 2-3 drops twice daily. That’s luring enough to get me to spend THB3,900 on a bottle of Lancôme’s GENEFIQUE Youth Activator! But if you are curious if it works for you, just check the 7ml bottle at THB950.

But what puzzles me is that this serum-like product is to be used immediately after cleansing, without toner or softener. So I shall fine out more about this serum first. If a toner or softener is not needed, that’s going to be more convenient to me!

Lancome Thailand is having some promotion on Lancôme’s GENEFIQUE Youth Activator where it comes in sets with other serum or essense such as Primodiale Serum, Renergie Serum or Absolute Essence. So, I shall make a trip to the nearest counter and see if any of the sets work for me. If not, I shall just try the GENEFIQUE.

My 3-year-old girl is as vain as me, and she likes to imitate me by pretending that she puts on face cream and makeup when I’m doing that in the morning and at night. She has always been asking me to buy her some cosmetics so that she can put them on her face. LOL! She had makeup on once, when she went for photo shooting, but after that, I try my best not to let her have any dressing up because I think that she’s too young for makeup.

Dressing up can be fun, but it shouldn’t pose risks. Many children like to wear cosmetics or nail polish. Make sure they’re using safer products, and applying them appropriately, sparingly, and infrequently.

* Cosmetics in powder form - Children can inhale these powders, damaging their lungs
* Fragrance - Allergens that may contain neurotoxic or hormone-disrupting chemicals

So, I guess it’s alright to use makeup on children, only when needed, such as during a concert or photo shooting but not as they pleased. I shall keep on convincing my gal that she doesn’t need makeup as she’s pretty in my eyes.

Oh well, kids grow up very fast, and before I know it, she might be buying her own makeup, skincare and maybe diet pills behind my back!

I was chatting with a friend the other day about taking care of our faces, and how we tend to spend more as we age, and how much we would hope to age gracefully and etc. I know myself pretty well, even when I was very busy with newborn babies, and was busy being a moo to my kids, I didn’t give up totally on taking care of myself, despite the limited time I have.

I used to have a lot of time for myself only, and I could put on body lotions, which targeted specifically for different parts of body. But now, it would be nice if I can just put on the anti cellulite cream on my thighs! LOL! I have been slowing on a lot but I shall not feel guilty about it. At least I still take good care of my face, but I should spend more time on masks!

So, I wonder if I will continue my beauty regime for life? Even when I’m old, probably can’t remember much about the past, or even have to rely on disposable diapers. I hope that I can still remember to brush my hair, powder my nose, and is still able to afford a good and rich face cream for my wrinkled skin.

I know that I’ve been mentioning about going back to yoga for a million times, but I still haven’t got myself registered! It’s so hard to have my free time without a maid here.

Nonetheless, I’m doing some simple exercise at home, but without a yoga mat, it’s kind of hard to do most of the poses. I’m asking hubby to do me a favor of bring my old mat over, and that map is really good! I’m not sure if he’s willing to do it though.

I don’t have any fitness equipment at home, and judging from the size of my house, it’s impossible to fit one in. LOL! So, hopefully I will tone up a bit from simple exercises at home.

Actually, the Thais don’t celebrate Mother’s Day in May, but most cosmetic counters are selling their Mother’s Day gift sets anyway. I have always loved to get gift sets because they are truly affordable, and it’s like paying for an item but you get other related products in sample size. These sample sized products are great for traveling, and it’s also one of the best time to try out new products which you have never tried before. That’s why I love shopping for gift sets in May and also December.

I’m still using Shiseido Revital but I haven’t used any serum for some time as I wanted something light for the hot season here in Bangkok. My face will sweat as soon as I apply my lotion on, and it’s way before I apply sunblock too! But personally, I prefer to go for serum or essence if possible, that’s why I decided to get Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair and CyberWhite Extra Concentrating Brightening Essence each for night and day.

Thus, when hubby went shopping at flash memory store the other day, I dropped by Estee Lauder counter for a quick grab.

The gift set consists of Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair and face and eye cream.

Since I was already shopping at the counter, I got myself a bottle of CyberWhite Extra Intentive UV Protector SPF50/PA+++.

I didn’t like the previous version, but this time, I was amazed with the light texture. It’s quite costly for a sunblock, but I don’t mind trying it out since I’ve read a few good reviews about it.

The last but not least, I got myself a face and body brush too.

It’s great for touching up and I will use the brush instead of a sponge with my pressed powder. It’s lighter and more breathable for my skin, if I touch up my face with a brush.

So, I guess I had a lot of fun shopping at Estee Lauder huh?

BTW, I decided to let go for NARS, even if the counter was just besides Estee Lauder yesterday! I was out of shopping budget.
