Cool Sunglasses

Sometimes, we don’t have to over dress to look hot and gorgeous. Even if a plain white body tugging T-shirt and skinny jeans will look good too, if you have the right accessories like handbag or Sunglasses. I used to have a guy friend who likes sunglasses a lot, he has more than 20 pairs of designer sunglasses to match his look, from casual to formal. He bought only the originals, so you can imagine how much he had spend on those glasses!

I can’t afford to have that many pairs of designer sunglasses, and most importantly, I’m going for look, not for the brand. If replicas from Wholesale Sunglasses look good on me, I will buy them too. One of my fashion “philosophy” is to make an effort of dressing with RM50 worth of clothing look like RM500, which includes accessories too.

See these sunglasses? They are just the same from Gucci’s latest collection, but the price is so much cheaper. Oh well, you can get them online from CTS Wholesales Sunglasses, or if you prefer to check them out physically, go to Petaling Street and see if you can find one. :P

Beautiful Indian Sarees

I’ve just come back from an Indian wedding which is held in Syuen Hotel. It’s the grandest Indian wedding I have ever been to, and most of the lady guests were dressed in sarees. Saree is the traditional clothes for Indian women.

When I was in uni, I thought of borrowing one from my Indian friends and tried it out. But I didn’t do in, and went to borrow a baju Melayu instead. I regretted still because I haven’t put on a saree before even if it’s such a nice clothing. Most Indian women will wear sarees with little blouses and wrap the sarees around their bodies. However, the waist part will be vaguely exposed, and they don’t care if they are skinny or fleshy, they will confidentally expose their waists.

It’s not easy to wear a saree. My Indian friend said that she needed her mom’s help when she was younger, but now, she knows well how to wear a saree. But she said it’s not easy to walk in a saree, so I might need some practice if I wanted to borrow from her. I was thinking about putting on a saree for a presentation while studying. If I’m not mistaken, my group assignment had something to do with multiracial, so we wanted to try out other races’ traditional clothing. I was worried that I might trip over some network cables when I was presenting on the stage, so I changed my mind to get a baju Melayu instead.

I should have got myself a saree and wore to the wedding just now. But then, how to take care of my kids with a saree on??? What if the saree open up!!! :P So, I wore a dress only to the wedding dinner.

Fashion Workshop

I came across the details of fashion workshops organized by Cleo and some major sponsors almost every year when I subscribed the magazines. I have always wanted to attend one, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I didn’t attend any.

I really regretted that I didn’t attend the workshops as there were lots of free goodies like makeup, skincare products and hair products were given out. On top of that, the workshop covered everything a woman needs to know about how to look good without spending a fortune or being a fashion victim. Everyone seemed to enjoy and benefit from the workshop from the articles that followed in the magazines.

Even if there were lots of participants, if they organizers sourced the best projector rentals to rent out projectors during the workshop, I think everyone would still have a clearer view on the flow of the workshop. Gee, maybe I should check out the date again this year, and see if I can make it.

I Should Dump Them Huh?

I realized that out of all the home furniture, I seldom clean up my dressing table. I’m not talking about dusting or wiping it, but the clear out the things on my dressing table.

I have more than a dozens of nail polishers which I have stopped using, but they are still lining up on the rack, and some perfumes that I hardly use. I hardly use makeup now but I still have a lot in my make up bag.

But there is a lifespan for every skincare product or makeup. For example, if it’s a mascara, once you have used it, it’s advisable to change to a new one every 6 months. For eyeliner, make sure you shave the front tip off before using if it’s been abandoned for a while. And for your powder or foundation sponge, dump them away frequently, or wash them with soapy water and let to dry.

I try to finish off my skincare products in 6 months after I open the container. If it’s more than that, I will normally stop using it, but I just leave it on the dressing table. I didn’t upload the photo of the other corner of my table, if not you will be shock at how messy the other side can be! All full of bottles and containers of skincare products! :P

Home Facial

Before I have kids, I would have home facial once a week, besides my regular month facial at my beautician.  But lately, I hardly have time for a full home facial, but I try to have a quick one if possible.

Firstly, I will wash my face with make up removal, even if I don’t put make up on. Then follow by a facial wash. If you have face scrub, you can use it too. Personally, I like to use this Estee Lauder Idealist Micro-D scrub, or with just use the mini massager with facial foam.

Then, I will put on a purifying mask to clear my pores and remove dead skin cells. Sometimes, if I feel like brightening up my complexion, I will go for whitening mask. Most of the masks I’m using now are from Japanese companies as I feel that they are more suitable for Asian skin.

Previously, I would even give myself a face massage, but I haven’t done this for a while. I got to simplify my facial process to fit my busy schedule now. So, my massage cream has been long abandoned. :P

I think it’s expired already, but I didn’t throw it away yet.

Oh ya, I used to have a steamer too. I would steam my face before putting on the mask, but I can’t seems to remember where I placed it. But never mind, as long as your house have cookware like rice cooker, just place your face there when the rice is steaming hot, it will give you the same results. Ha! Just joking, don’t ever do that!

Teak Outdoor Furniture

If I have a house, this is one of the furnitures I would like to have. I know that teak outdoor furniture may not be suitable for our weather, and who would really sit there and eat except in the morning and evening, since our sun is so bad here.

But who cares? It looks nice in the garden and that is what matter the most to me. LOL! BTW, it would be nice to have a barbecue and make good use of the outdoor furniture too.

Sigh! Can’t wait to have my own house!

How Body Conscious Are You?

I was chatting with one of the bloggers on MSN the other night and I told her that I was knitting. She asked me to knit her a bikini, and I said it’s ok, if I had the diagram to refer. But then, she told me she’s only joking as she wouldn’t dare to wear it.

Whenever I’m on vacation at some beach resorts, I couldn’t help notice that the westerners are only walking around in bikinis but still look comfortable at themselves. They don’t hide their bodies with sarongs like what we Asia will normally do. On top of that, most of us will go for 2-piece swimsuits but not bikini too.

Once, when I was having a holiday at Damai Laut, one of the ang moh girls were in bikinis, but her pants was a G-string! All the local men’s eyes were on her butt, but she was so at ease by their stares, and wouldn’t be bothered about it. I really admired her confidence, and of course, she had nice body too.

Most Asian are very conscious about our bodies. Before we put on the bikini, we are already asking ourselves is my tummy too big? My butt is too fat? Can they see my cellulite? Or my breasts not big enough? And a thousands of other questions.

Gee….how I wish I can the ang mohs’ confidence in bikinis. If not, I only put one on when I have a private pool in Orlando vacation home. No one can see me except my close family. Then, what’s the purpose of wearing a bikini when I can’t even show off myself? :P

Sunblock

The sun is one of the main factor of premature aging. That’s why I stopped golfing with hubby because I had some pigmentation and spots on my cheeks. Even if lots of products claimed that they have remove brown spots, but to me, the effect is only lightening them, but not eliminating them totally.

So, I make sure that I put on sunblock on my face every day, even if I’m confining at home. For normal daily use, I go for Loreal UV perfect Sunblock with SPF 50 and PA +++. But if I’m going to the beach or cruises, I will go for Shiseido waterproof sunblock with SPF 50 and PA +++ for face and body. But the thing is, you need to use its ultimate cleansing oil to remove it. So, I don’t use it often because it’s quite inconvenient.

If I have the time, I will put on Vaseline Heathy White UV Protection sunscreen. However I tend to forget about it. :P

Next Spa Visit

Relax Spa called me yesterday, asking for my next appointment. That’s the thing I like about paying for package because all the salons and spas will call me up for my next session without having me to worry about it.

I don’t keep track of how often I go for some beauty indulgence, but I guess it’s about once a month for hair, facial, spa, medicure and pedicure. Sometimes, I cancel the appointment if my kids don’t let me get out from the house. Hubby is free only after golfing on Sunday, and I try not to have any appointments on Sunday because we don’t have much time spending together as a family, so I prefer to hang out with my kids and hubby. Occasionally, we need to get back to hubby’s office on Sundays to clean up the office furniture because hubby doesn’t want to have a cleaner. So, I’m the CLEANER. :P

Since I’ve paid for the packages, I can’t miss them all. They better call me, I can be very forgetful.

Dior’s Jeanne Aged Goatskin Medium Bag

Don’t you think this is beautiful? It’s Dior’s Jeanne Aged Bag.

When my brother was spending his holiday in Italy, I asked him to get something nice back for me, preferably a nice handbag. He got my mum an LV, but he had totally forgotten about his sister! :(

And what puzzled me the most was he bought back some crystals glasses and cushion from the local furniture stores and claimed that they were good buys. :P

Until now also I don’t understand why he didn’t shop for fashionable products but some homely things? Maybe he was preparing to get married at that time, and his shopping sense went hare wired. LOL!
