Eyebrow and Eyeliner Embroidery

Women can really go the extend of beautifying themselves. Chinese New Year is coming soon and most of my friends are busy arranging their appointment with various salons for hair, medicure, pedicure, facial as well as eyebrow and eyeliner embroidery. One of my knitting friends has just done her embroidery and I have to admit that she looks prettier now. She’s been talking me into going for it but I’m too scared to try it out. I have lower threshold in pain and anything to do with poking needles into my skin doesn’t look appealing to me. Besides that, I’m too chickened and worried that accident might happen while the lady is working on my eyeliner and what if I’m blind later? Will my medicare insurance cover this for me or not? LOL! OK, I’m just thinking too much…

I would like to hear from the other ladies. Have you done eyebrow and eyeliner embroidery? Is it painful? Do you like it?

Want to Look Younger or Prettier?

A friend of mine complained that she looks older in permed hair. Actually, it’s more like she doesn’t know how to manage her perm, that’s why she looks older. Both her and my other friends received the first communion invitations from a mutual friend and when they were there, someone praised my other friend looked younger than her. She was hurt, but I don’t think it’s a big issue. I told that that she’s prettier than her mah, why bothered about what other people said? I was mean huh? LOL!

When it comes to look, some women care very much if they look younger than their ages. I used to be think like this too but I’m more confident about myself as I age. Anyone can look good at any age as long as they keep in good shape and use the right products. The only thing I have to do now is getting more sleep than 6 hours per day. I used to sleep only 4 hours when I was being caught in blogging frenzy, but not anymore. No more blogging until the wee hours and sacrificing my beauty sleep. Seriously, my eyes look better now, or maybe it’s due to the effect of La Mer’s The Eye Concentrate?

Ayura Spa at Langkawi Spa and Beach Resort

I signed up the spa package at Berjaya Beach and Spa Resort during our trip to Langkawi last month. My kids were not joining us, so hubby and I could spend some time for body and foot massage respectively. Most of the therapist from Ayura Spa are Balinese so you should know how relaxing their massage methods are.

I like the surrounding of the spa. It’s built in the woods and it’s so quiet!

Too bad we couldn’t try out the pools as they were under some maintenance. We only went for whole body massage and hubby and I shared the same room.

I took aromatherapy massage while hubby tried deep relaxing massage. It should be quite painful for him, but he slept through the session. LOL!

The next day, we had foot massage by the poolside.

It’s so nice to have some pampering under the blue sky while enjoying the sea breeze.

But then again, I have lower tolerance for pain and hence I was fully aware of what’s going on and I screamed at some spots of my feet. On the other hand, my hubby was enjoying the pain. Gee…how to enjoy???

I missed my spa appointment on Wednesday. The lady at the reception desk called me up 2 hours after my appointment. Excuse me, why can’t she call me earlier? LOL! I better don’t miss my spa next week. I need to have some pampering again.

Skincare from Korea

My friend told me that Korea has a lot of skincare products which are good, but we still can’t find a lot of brands imported to Malaysia. I read about some reviews about certain brand names and check out their websites, but most of them are written in Korean, so I’m clueless about what they meant!

I wonder if there is a business opportunity of venturing into a webstore selling skincare products from Korea? Maybe a Small business valuation will give me a better idea of how potential the business it. But for someone who’s more interested in using the skincare products than running a business, I think it’s going to be hard for me to make a profit. LOL!

BTW, I missed that ginsheng mask that I bought from Korea years ago. Gee….I can’t even remember the name. It’s so nice to be used as sleeping mask!

The Face Shop

I bought some masks from The Face Shop yesterday and I have started using one of them. It’s Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask with skin lifting properties. I only used it once and besides the nice smell, I don’t see anything significant with it yet.

The sales lady said it’s one of their hottest products from The Face Shop, gee…what’s so hot about it? Maybe I should use it more often and see if it works on me. I’m using Casmara with botox ingredient, and I wonder if this mask works better than my usual stuff.

But one thing for sure, most of the products from The Face Shop are quite cheap. If you are a student “surviving” on student loans, you can easily afford the products ranging from hydration, whitening or lifting. There are hair and body products too, but I didn’t get any. No point buying so many things on my first visit right?

Money Spent On Face

I was quite shocked to know that I spend a lot of money on my face, as comparing to others. I thought that I am just spending a little as I hardly buy new products to try out now. I have found my skincare range, but it’s only masks that I will still shop around and try them out. I’ve just got a lot of mask from The Face Shop yesterday, and I have started my review on one of the masks.

Frankly, the money spent on my face is not wasted. If the products are good, my skin will thank me for it. Personally, I think it’s better than spending the money on online casino, but some tai tai will argue with me that they make money from their mahjong or poker games, so I guess it’s just a personal choice.

I would rather have nice skin. As for the money factor, I leave it to hubby. LOL!

Dermalogica: Precleanse or Ultracalming Cleanser

I haven’t tried any products from Dermalogica, even if it’s such a popular brand! I was given free samples of precleanse and ultracalming cleanser by Dermalogica from a friend who’s selling the products. I wanted to get a new bottle of makeup remover or cleanser anyway, so no harm trying it out.

I prefer to use the ultracalming cleanser over precleanse. I don’t fancy oil remover, but it’s just my personal choice. Sometimes, I don’t do double cleanse if I’m too tired. I hardly wear makeup, so the ultracalming cleanser will be good enough. Besides that, how hard can it be to use either on of the cleanser? It’s not like I’m doing any environmental site assessment. LOL!

If I see my friend again before I go shopping for other skincare products, I might get the cleanser from her. But if I go shopping, I will surely go for other brand. :P
