Stretch My Money on Beauty Products

When it comes to beauty products, I seldom compromise them for money. I would have no problem getting a face cream equivalent to the value of a pair of Dansko, if it’s really that good. But then, I might not continue that expensive cream for long, if the result is not as good as expected after some time. I tend to get “immune” to the effect after a few months, and I will look for another cream. But today, I amazed myself that I managed to get a few beauty related products around a total of THB1000. Not all of them are really meant for the face though, but can still be considered as beauty products.

Foundation and UV base by Maybelline. I’ve never tried the base but the price is affordable and worth a shot.

mascara remover in cotton buds by Swab Plus. This will be handy for traveling.

Makeup removal sheets by Beauty Formula. I’ve tried it, but it does not remove the make up as easy as my normal make up removal. So, I will only use it for traveling, but not for daily use.

I bought this fake lashes and glue from Daiso. The lashes look natural, so I wonder if they work for my eyes?

I found this product called mascara guard at Daiso. I have to admit that I bought it out of curiosity. LOL! Let’s see if it really works…

See? I managed to buy so much with such a small amount of money! LOL!

Get Natalie Portman’s Look at Oscar

01m.jpg

I like Natalie Portman, she’s not only a beauty, she’s also very talented. Maybe it’s her face features, and I think she looks great with just minimum make up in earth tone. But then, it might be hard for me to get her look, considering that I always end up “messy” in smokey makeup.

Jeanine Lobell, who gave Portman a smoky eye with Chanel’s Silky Eye Shadow Duo in Orient Express, using the pale pink as a base on her lids and the dark purple for smolder around the lash line. That bright pink flush came courtesy of Chanel Powder Blush in Narcisse, placed high on Portman’s already chiseled cheekbones. Lobell finished the look with a pale lavender lip—in homage to the dress—using Chanel Glossimer in Galactic.

Maybe that’s the trick, use a dark purple, instead of brown? Another thing is, my lighting in the room is not really that good for makeup, so I almost end up with too much blush. Maybe I should put my makeup on in the bathroom when no one is using it in the morning rush. My kids tend to turn on the shower faucet and splash the water everywhere, how am I going to make up in the bathroom with them around? LOL!

Midnight Sale

200220091068.jpg

I’m aware of Central Midnight Sale before I received this newsletter from Lancome. But to think of going shopping at midnight is not something that I will do. Firstly, I’m no longer a night owl and I don’t think I can drive all the way to the shopping mall to get some skincare products. Secondly, even if I can ask hubby to give me a ride, how about my kids? Dragging them along too? I can’t leave them at home by themselves, even if they are asleep.

The free gifts look very attractive, and not only by Lancome, Shiseido and Estee Lauder products are luring me as well. I will need to get a health care career or any part time job to increase my income if I want to shop like hell at midnight sale! Bear in mind, I would be very sleepy, my mind might not function well at that time too. LOL!

So I guess I will skip this sale, unless the promoters can do some arrangement with me of giving me the free gifts, even if I shop at daytime.

How’s Your Valentine’s Day?

As usual, we didn’t do anything special yesterday, and it’s more like a family dinner than a romantic dinner. We had dinner with FIL and MIL at a very noisy steamboat restaurant, and with our naughty kids noising and running around, there is nothing romantic about it. It’s like any other dinner which I will forget a week from now, or probably sooner. :P

Anyway, I did get my flowers, but I don’t like it. I found that the flowers were wrapped in a ugly way, and I don’t understand why the packed the flowers in such a long stalk. It’s like those flowers sold in Melbourne, when I was there, and it seemed like the longer the stalk of the flowers, the more expensive they will be. To me, it’s just plain ugly. I prefer those nicely wrapped bouquets which I usually received back home in Malaysia, and all of them fit nicely in most vases. As for my long stalked roses, I just “dumped” them aside on the cabinet as I can’t find such a tall vase in my house!

Actually, I already got my Valentine’s presents which I bought by myself, at hubby’s expenses, of course. But if he really wants to do more, he can just buy the jackets or anything by Roman Originals for me. If you buy a jacket, you will get a pair of trousers for free, so it doesn’t sound bad at all. But for free delivery, you will need to purchase up to £75, so hope over to the link and use this free 20% off voucher for good.

I’m glad that I made the right move of buying my own Valentine’s Day presents. My new dressers and shoes are so lovely!

Shopping for Nice Products at a Tighter Budget

I’ve started using Galenic Elancyl Lipo-Reducing Concentrate Duo and Liporeducer Specific Flat Stomach last night. Since the products claimed that they can work for 24 hours, I think once a day application is good enough. I can’t find time to put on lots of body care products lately, so I will try my best to put on the slimming products at night.

Frankly, I have a lot of skincare and beauty products, but not all of them are being used to the last drop. Like most beauty freak, I tend to buy when I have the urge of trying them out. Nonetheless, I try my best not to do this anymore due to the economy meltdown. You will never know when you might be very broke! By then, I will only have a lot of beauty products being kept as masterpieces in art storage and an empty bank account! That doesn’t sound like a phrase I want to go through.

If I need a few product, I might try my best to check out those in cheap price range. Not everything cheap comes in low quality, you just have to find the ones that fit both you skin and the budget you have in mind. I think those personal care stores have a lot of nice products to offer. So, I should drop by Watson and Boots more often.

L’OREAL Derma Genesis Essence Concentrate

I was supposed to shop for some grocery and an emergency light last night, but I couldn’t help myself from getting a bottle of L’OREAL Derma Genesis Essence Concentrate when I passed by the skincare product section. I like some of the products by L’oreal because they are fairly affordable, and some of them do promise the results after prolong use.

L’OREAL Derma Genesis Essence Concentrate is not a new product, but I haven’t tried any before.

L’Oreal Paris Derma Genesis Essence Concentrate

The Concentrated Serum is an aqueous gel enriched with Hyaluronic Acid. It ensures an intense smoothening action for a truly radiant glow and can be applied before the day cream. Two drops are enough. It’s the elixir of youth.

When I started using it this morning, I was surprised to see how clear the liquid gel is, and  I only needed 2 plumps for my face and neck, as claimed. It’s very easy to spread it out and it adsorbed very fast into my skin. There was an instant glow, and it’s not oily at all. I’m kind of like it, and I might try the whole range.

Galenic Elancyl Lipo-Reducing Concentrate Duo and Liporeducer Specific Flat Stomach

I went to Lancome just now, but too bad, Lancome Oscillation Mascara will only be at Future Park in April, and the promoter suggested that I drop by other shopping malls to check them out. Upon hearing that, I’m too lazy to drive all the way to the other side of the town just for a tube of mascara. :P

But anyway, I went to browse for some products at Boots at got myself some slimming products by Galenic Elancyl. I’ve always wanted to try them out but my whole set of L’oreal slimming products are not finished yet. Anyway, I still went ahead and bought them! LOL!

Elancyl Liporeducer Specific Flat Stomach (the set I bought came with 2 bottles)

The Lipo-Reducer Specific Stomach is highly concentrated, enriched in 50% of specific slimming active ingredients compared to the Lipo-Reducer Concentrated Gel to provide an answer adapted to the physiology of the abdominal adipose tissue.

I can’t tell if they are good yet, but I’m willing to give them a try. I’ve gained weight after Chinese New Year, and it’s time to get shed them off by watching my diet, and using the slimming products.

Celebrity News

I hardly read celebrity news since I moved here because I only read the news online, and with my limited time, I would just go for important topics. But the other day, I got a glimpse of Lindsay Lohan, and she looked great in her bikini. I still remember the movie she did when she was very young, but now she’s so grown up and pretty. However, it’s sad to see her going through Long Term Drug Treatment years ago, but I’m glad to know that she had overcome her addition.

I don’t know what caught into these young celebrities who got themselves into drug addiction, maybe they became rich and famous too fast. But with Career Counseling and proper education, I guess some of them are able to get rid of the addiction.

Anyway, I better to read some celebrity news now. I’m getting outdated!

Lancome Oscillation Mascara is Here!

Finally, Lancome Oscillation Mascara is here in Bangkok and I have to make a trip to Lancome counter to check it out. I’ve been waiting to see if this mascara is as good as it’s claimed to be, and I hope that it works for me. It’s time for me to change my mascara anyway, and if possible, I hope to get the Lancome Oscillation Mascara. I wonder how much is it selling here in Thailand?

Wait la, when I’m done with my work, my blogs, and seeing the immigration lawyers, I will go shopping. I have something to buy anyway, so I might as well drop by Lancome for a look.

2nd Bottle of Care Plus Skin Lightening Gel

My friend helped me to get a bottle of Care Plus Skin Lightening Gel from Ipoh to Bangkok, with MIL’s help. So, I will continue with my second bottle of Care Plus Skin Lightening Gel at night to prevent my brown spots from getting worse. I have just came back from the beach last week, so I’m getting more tanned than before. I’m glad to see the improvement with this brightening gel, but too bad, it’s kind of hard to get one in Bangkok.

From my previous experience, I can’t continue with the same product for more than 6 months. So, maybe after this new bottle of Care Plus Skin Lightening Gel, I will have to use other products for the night.

Nonetheless, if you are interested to know more about Care Plus, check this out. I guess their provide small business franchise as my ex-beautician is selling the products at her boutique.
