Elianto

We reached Penang last night. My hubby wanted to check out the macbook and printers last night, so I went window shopping by myself. I haven’t bought anything from Elianto before, but last night, I went in for a look.

I didn’t get anything much except some makeup accessories. I’m surprised that most of the products are very cheap, and there is a wide variety of eyeshadow in nice colors. Maybe I will get some one day. :)

Makeup Tips from Roberto Cavalli’s Runway

I can’t possibly attend the fashion runway of Roberto Cavalli even if cheaper flight deals are available, but we can “steal” the makeup tips offered by makeup artist Pat McGrath. The look is great for someone like me, who prefers to look more natural with earthy tones and more appropriate for work.

I like the eye colors, but a little mistake will make it look messy and yucky. So, maybe it’s easier to create the look by using the cream eye color as Pat McGrath colored the eyes with

Laura Mercier Metallic Crème Eye Colour in Gold on the upper lid, Nars Cream Eyeshadow in Paper Tiger along the outer edge, and CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Eye Shadow in Tapestry Taupe along the lower lash line.

So, are you willing to give it a try?

Jill Stuart Beauty

untitled-2.jpg

I must be living in the well for some time. I knew about Jill Stuart Beauty cosmetics, but I only found out that they are only available in Japan!!! The packaging caught my attention as they are lovely and gorgeous. Of course, they won the Package Design Award at Japan Packaging Contest 2006 too, so there’s no doubt that they will be great collectibles.

I think most of us are aware of the clothes by Jill Stuart, but if you are a big fan of the brand and if you happen to stay in Japan (lucky you!!!), don’t miss the pretty cosmetics. Of course, you dress up from head to toe in Jill Stuart, but the makeup will also look nice on you in only body stockings.

Some Beauty Products…

I didn’t have much to do in Bangkok except shopping for the house mostly. I still don’t have time to check out the beauty products like RMK curl separate mascara, Clarins UV base with SPF 40, and the whitening mask from Cosme Decorte.

However, I managed to try out a few items and here’s my review:

1. Loreal’s Telescopic Clean Mascara

07052008893.jpg

I tried it for a few days and it is really easy to apply the mascara without clumps. However, it will only lengthen my lashes, so I still have to use another mascara to curl or thicken my fine lashes. It’s very affordable, so you can think about getting one if you prefer long lashes. BTW, it’s very easy to be removed, so it’s suitable for someone who’s lazy to remove makeup like me.

2. Estee Lauder CyberWhite Ex Extra Brightening UV Protector with SPF50/PA++

I don’t really like it at first because it’s richer and creamer than my usual sunblock. But then I found that it’s best to put a thick layer of sunscreen on my face and slowly pat it until it’s totally absorbed. Thus, you really need to put in more time for this sunscreen if you plan to apply another layer of foundation or anything else after the sunscreen protector. I have to look for a sunscreen with at least SPF50 now since I’m being exposed to the sun a lot, even by staying in the house in Bangkok! So, I’ve shortlisted this sunscreen in my list, but I still want to try some other brands before buying one.

3. Loreal Revitalift Double Eye Lift

I finally bought this eye cream last Sunday. It’s really cheap, so no harm getting one and see if it works for me. I don’t feel the tingling sensation when I apply the eye gel on my upper eye lids. Frankly, I didn’t see any significant lifting effect, as comparing to my La Mer. :P

But I have only used it for a week, so maybe I will give it another try for a few more weeks. Let’s see how…

I guess I will be getting a few more beauty products at the airport if I have time for shopping. I want to make a trip to some shopping malls again, but we are too busy for that. Hopefully hubby can drop me at The Emporium or Central World when he goes shopping for video cards. Then I can go shopping on my own!

Waterproof Hypnose and L’Extreme Mascaras by Lancome

My Amplicils mascara by Lancome has almost dried out, so it’s time to shop for another mascara again. My friend just called me and let me know that both L’Extreme and Hypnose have waterproof versions now, so I might want to check them out at Bangkok airport later. Hopefully, they have the waterproof versions there.

If the price is much cheaper at the airport since it’s duty free, I might get both of them. I just hope that they are really smudge free and won’t smear after a few hours. Don’t you just hate it if you look like you have just cried? Gosh, those 70s scenes where Taiwanese actresses crying in their bedding with smeared eyeliner and mascara are too scary to me. My mascara has to be waterproof.

The Wonder of Makeup

I was browsing some celebrities gossip blogs just now and I found that some celebrities really cannot live without makeup. Take Britney Spears as an example, do you think she’s pretty without makeup? I think she was many years ago, but now, she’s like any normal auntie walking down the street. But the worst are those celebrities that look like they are on drugs of something, and they look awfully dreadful. I don’t want to post their photos here, no point spoiling my view. :P Let’s just say that it’s too common for them to go in and out of drug rehabs, but still, many of us are curious to know more about celebrities gossips.

But one thing for sure, without makeup, most of them are simply plain. They are no difference like us anyway. Of course, there are a few who are pretty without makeup like Liv Tyler, I really like her eyes. So I guess makeup is one of the best creations for women huh?

Estee Lauder CyberWhite EX Foundation

I didn’t get the foundation from Estee Lauder when I bought my skincare range from them. I seldom put on foundation, but only a sunscreen makeup base. But since I’m not getting any younger, I should really try to look my best. LOL!

I’m thinking of getting the foundation cake from Estee Lauder CyberWhite EX. It will be more convenient to get the powder foundation since I might want to put it in my handbag. Who knows if I need to do some touching up later? :P

I haven’t made up my mind if I should get it now since I might be shopping at the airport duty free again. It will be cheaper to get one at the airport, that’s for sure! It’s not like I’m working as a salesperson selling some DeWalt tools in the hot sun, I can still do without a foundation cake now. Frankly, I will have my liquid foundation and another foundation cake from Loreal True Color, but I am tempted to get a new one. :P

If you are seeking fragrances, begin your searchon the internet. You’ll be able to find awesome prices on discount fragrances, Dana cologne, and a cologne. Shopping on the internet makes perfume and cologne shopping easy and quick!

Feminine and Flawless Makeup

01m.jpg

I like the makeup at Alberta Ferretti’s Fall runway.

“It’s a watered-down sixties look,” said Peter Philips of the heavily lined eyes and pale lips he created for Ferretti’s Fall collection. “But it’s less refined and more rock ‘n’ roll than Brigitte Bardot.”

The look was created with Chanel Pro Lumière Professional Finish Makeup SPF 15 for a semi-matte complexion, and highlighter was used on cheekbones and temples instead of blush. Not everyone can carry this look but you can go for that flawless skin with the makeup base.

Nonetheless, if you have dramatic eye makeup by lining the whole eye with Chanel Le Crayon Kohl Intense Eye Pencil in Black and curl the lashes with Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel in Black, then you will have more focus on the eyes.

Do you notice that the lips are kind of pale too?

The models’ mouths were daubed with foundation instead of color. “It gave the lips a uniform tone that was neither too pink nor too pearly,” he said. (For a look that’s more real world than runway, Philips recommends using beige lip color on lips and adding a peach-hued blush to give cheeks more life.)

So, don’t just follow the look exactly unless you want to look sick and pale. I would definitely add some lip gloss on my lips!

Love and Flowers Palette Pop Collector Powder by Yves Saint Laurent

I found that the Palette Pop Collector Powder from Yves Saint Laurent’s Love and Flowers collection is simply irresistible. It reminds me of Dior’s Flower Blossom but of course, similarities happen everywhere.

Frankly, I will just get this set because I like the design and keep it collectibles. I hardly wear blush anyway. :P Nonetheless, a good blush will bring out the glow of your complexion and enhance your features if you know how to use it well. Even if you are a serious lawyer working on a case about mesothelioma, that doesn’t stop you from being pretty, ok?

Besides that, it would be nice to have this blush kept in our makeup bags huh?
