Eye Makeup Tips by Kevin

I don’t have much time for makeup, but I try to fix my eyes if possible. I love the tips given by Kevin, and if you can read Chinese, take a peep at his blog.

Kevin didn’t have nice skin previously, I think he got to use acne serum to control his outbreak too. But he looks very good now, and he’s so good in make up!

I wonder if he’s still single? LOL! He should be one of the hottest bachelors in town.

Ecotools

I bought my first set of Ecotools last month and have been using the brushes almost every day. I must say, for the price that I’m paying, I love the brushes! Ecotools are very affordable, and it’s free shipping from The Makeup Mix Shop.

Besides that, the store owner is very helpful. At first, I had some problem with my purchase through Paypal, but she’s given me a lot of guidance. Blame it on me being in Thailand but my account was set up in Malaysia! :P We can’t change our country location in Paypal, and I’ve verified this with the call center. So I have to set up another Paypal account based in Thailand soon, if I’m going to stay here permanently.

Anyway, back to Ecotools. The brush is soft, and I love the extra loose powder brush I bought. Too bad it doesn’t come with a brush bag, so I have to squeeze it in with the brush set.

So, now I know why so many beauty bloggers are raving about Ecotools. These brushes rock!

Eco-BB Cream by Cyber Colors

I’ve almost forgotten to blog about my review on the products I bought from Sasa! Blame me for being lazy and prefer to sit at the patio furniture and knit for hours everyday. :P

Ok, let’s start with the BB cream I bought from Sasa.

Eco-BB Cream by Cyber Colors is my first tube of blemish balm cream. I’ve heard and read a lot about BB cream, but all the while, I don’t think that I need one. I don’t mind going out with just a tint of sunblock as base when I’m not using any foundation, so I’ve never really needed BB cream. But since I was there at Sasa, I bought a tube of BB Cream by Cyber Color for a try.

As stated on the tube, this BB cream is not only a healing natural coverage cream, but it has moisturizing, whitening and anti aging properties too. But like most BB cream, it doesn’t have a lot of color tone for different skin tone, so it looks too “white” immediately after application. But after a couple of minutes, it is less shining and “fake” on my face, even if it still has its glow.

So, will I go for the second tube? Maybe I will still buy BB cream, but I might try other brand. It’s still hard for me to say if I really like the product, but I have to admit that it’s very convenient to me, especially since I don’t bring my MAC foundation with me during my holiday here.

So, if you are looking for natural and hassle free makeup base, maybe you can give BB cream a try.

MAC Cosmetics

MAC is one of my favorite makeup brands due to its wide varieties of colors and products. It’s not hard to get the closest color to your skin tone with its various prep skin makeup as well as foundation. If you are bold enough, you can also choose the various colors of eyeshadow and blush to play with.

I dropped by MAC to get a new bottle of foundation yesterday, and at the same time, I bought the MAC skin enhancer, concealer and loose powder too. I need lighter tone now as my complexion is fairer and my existing foundation is not the right tone anymore.

I was tempted to get some blush and eyeliner, but I didn’t do so. I know myself pretty well. I don’t have time for makeup in the morning and the most I can do is even out my skin tone and hide my dark circles. Maybe if I can wake up earlier, or get myself a job selling Ft Myers custom doors so that I can hire 2 maids at home, then maybe I can afford to squeeze some time for makeup. Right now, I’m so occupied!

Simple Yet Attractive Makeup

Which side do you like? The makeup on the left or on the right? Personally, I like earth tone makeup, so I would go for the look on the left of Liz’s face. It’s natural, refreshing and not overdo. Some guys really like girls with clean and simple makeup, but then, we still need to spend some time to make ourselves look effortless!

I guess the makeup is not only suitable for dates, it works well for working ladies too. Just imagine how nice it is to look like that, if you are in insurance marketing, as comparing to one in thick and dramatic makeup!

Check out how Kevin did the makeup here.

Can Kids Use Makeup?

My 3-year-old girl is as vain as me, and she likes to imitate me by pretending that she puts on face cream and makeup when I’m doing that in the morning and at night. She has always been asking me to buy her some cosmetics so that she can put them on her face. LOL! She had makeup on once, when she went for photo shooting, but after that, I try my best not to let her have any dressing up because I think that she’s too young for makeup.

Here’s a short article I found online, while searching for related info.

Dressing up can be fun, but it shouldn’t pose risks. Many children like to wear cosmetics or nail polish. Make sure they’re using safer products, and applying them appropriately, sparingly, and infrequently.

Avoid these products:

* Lipstick – can contain harmful impurities that children swallow in small amounts
* Nail polish containing dibutyl phthalate and toluene – Linked to hormone disruption and cancer
* Cosmetics in powder form – Children can inhale these powders, damaging their lungs
* Fragrance – Allergens that may contain neurotoxic or hormone-disrupting chemicals

So, I guess it’s alright to use makeup on children, only when needed, such as during a concert or photo shooting but not as they pleased. I shall keep on convincing my gal that she doesn’t need makeup as she’s pretty in my eyes. :)

Oh well, kids grow up very fast, and before I know it, she might be buying her own makeup, skincare and maybe diet pills behind my back!

NARS Firming Foundation

I think I have to make a trip to Siam Paragon again to check out NARS Firming Foundation. Women my age really need a better foundation, which is not only correcting my uneven skin tone and for concealing, I need one which lifts up my face as well. Don’t be surprised with the effect of gravity after spending more than 30 years on planet earth!

NARS Firming Foundation

Even if I’ve heard some much about NARS, I haven’t own any makeup from this famous brand. Nonetheless, I must say that François Nars is indeed a genius! He really understands what a woman wants to have in her makeup bag.

Besides that, I like the names given to some of their products, such as Orgasm? LOL!

Here’s the best selling three-in-one cream color base for eyes, lips, and cheeks by Nars’. Guess what’s its name? Yeap, it’s The Multiple in Orgasm!

I guess I will spend some time trying out some of the products, besides NARS Firming Foundation.

But then, I will be very selective if I’m going to purchase any cosmetic from NARS because they are quite costly. :P I wonder if they have cosmetics for those who are going through acne treatment too?

Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus

I finally got myself Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus (3rd Generation) days ago, and I love it! It does a good job in lengthening my lashes, and the best thing is, it’s so much cheaper than my regular mascara by Lancome. I’m still waiting for Lancome Oscillation Mascara to come to the counter I buy regularly, so in the mean time, I’m in love with Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus.

It was the last 3 pieces at the counter when I bought it days ago, so it is selling off pretty fast. I guess a lot of ladies are grabbing them and bring them to the barcode scanner ASAP before it’s all sold off. LOL!

I bought a set of eyeshadow in earth tone from  Majolica Majorca too, but I haven’t tried it out. That’s the color for me on working days…Not really attractive huh?

Get Natalie Portman’s Look at Oscar

01m.jpg

I like Natalie Portman, she’s not only a beauty, she’s also very talented. Maybe it’s her face features, and I think she looks great with just minimum make up in earth tone. But then, it might be hard for me to get her look, considering that I always end up “messy” in smokey makeup.

Jeanine Lobell, who gave Portman a smoky eye with Chanel’s Silky Eye Shadow Duo in Orient Express, using the pale pink as a base on her lids and the dark purple for smolder around the lash line. That bright pink flush came courtesy of Chanel Powder Blush in Narcisse, placed high on Portman’s already chiseled cheekbones. Lobell finished the look with a pale lavender lip—in homage to the dress—using Chanel Glossimer in Galactic.

Maybe that’s the trick, use a dark purple, instead of brown? Another thing is, my lighting in the room is not really that good for makeup, so I almost end up with too much blush. Maybe I should put my makeup on in the bathroom when no one is using it in the morning rush. My kids tend to turn on the shower faucet and splash the water everywhere, how am I going to make up in the bathroom with them around? LOL!

Lancome Oscillation Mascara is Here!

Finally, Lancome Oscillation Mascara is here in Bangkok and I have to make a trip to Lancome counter to check it out. I’ve been waiting to see if this mascara is as good as it’s claimed to be, and I hope that it works for me. It’s time for me to change my mascara anyway, and if possible, I hope to get the Lancome Oscillation Mascara. I wonder how much is it selling here in Thailand?

Wait la, when I’m done with my work, my blogs, and seeing the immigration lawyers, I will go shopping. I have something to buy anyway, so I might as well drop by Lancome for a look.
